  1. It's been almost two years since the second chapter of Neighbors. The responses to both chapters were extremely positive and left you wanting more. More importantly, it left you disappointed when it was abandoned.
  2.
  3. On behalf of me and my co-writer, we're sorry.
  4.
  5. Since I've failed to say anything for so long, I feel like I owe you an explanation.
  6.
  7. Back in 2017, me and my co-writer were very close. Trying to write Neighbors in a way that was interesting was a bit challenging, as I personally wasn't used to writing in the "pseudo first-person" style of Roommates. Still, it was fun. We had pre-planned a rough draft of the story and its characters. We knew it would be a big commitment, but we were both ready for it.

  9. Unfortunately, even the best plans can fall apart when life gets in the way. I was already having motivational issues with writing, but my co-writer had it much worse. Due to personal issues at home and online, he left. Losing my friend and co-writer severely impacted what motivation I had for Neighbors. I still tried to write chapter 3, but it didn't feel right. I felt like my co-writer's input in the story was vital for it to still be a good read. For that reason and my loss in motivation, I didn't release chapter 3.
  10.
  11. In hindsight, I regret not speaking up about this sooner. I felt guilty about not saying anything before now. Although it was our project, it was also yours.
  12.
  13. My co-writer reached back out to me at the very end of December last year, and since then we've considered returning to Neighbors. Although we both enjoyed it, I don't think either of us are sure we want to really come back to it. Two years is a long time, and we've both changed since then. Furthermore, we're both much busier than we were two years ago. That being said, it isn't impossible for us to continue it.
  14.
  15. Just... very difficult.
  16.
  17. At some point though, I do want to release something. A new chapter, a re-write of the first chapter, or maybe some information on the characters we never got to introduce. No promises though.
