  1. Character Name/Username: Simone [Borb]
  2. Character Level/Character Age: 88 [26]
  3. Character Race: Human
  4.
  5. Background Information: Simone came from modest beginnings, a member of a nomadic tribe of barbarians whose people are prone to fits of rage in battle; it makes them feared among the people of civilizations, from which they are firmly exiled by merit not only of their aggression, but by handed-down superstition of their peoples.
  6.
  7. She came to the isle in hopes of finding greater, stronger enemies to test herself and her brawn against until finally reaching a well-deserved end against a final, ultimate foe. And yet she had come to find that the rules that had governed her in her home, those enforced by staunch tradition and superstition, were different in this new place.
  8.
  9. Development: I admittedly don't have logs for most of this. And what snippets I could get would only be what I posted, and not really give a full picture. I will instead do my best to just summarize pertinent events and development. I hope this is acceptable.
  10.
  11. Coming from a savage people, Simone came to Sarea with only a few things in mind; a new and unsuspecting terrain to test her mettle against, including but not limited to its flora, fauna, and civilized denizens. Though she was still young and lacking in brawn, no doubt this would be remedied by trial and time.
  12.
  13. And in that time she came to know two enterprising denizens of the isle- Grathamel Mispra, self proclaimed bohemian and merchant aspirant, and the Physician, a doctor and benevolent force for all things medicinal and alchemical. Simone found herself in their service, not so much out of goodness of heart so much as she recognized them for being potential magnets for trouble. Where there is trouble, there was bound to be violence and worthy adversaries.
  14.
  15. When not working in the service of either, though primarily as the bohemian's bodyguard, Simone wandered the width and breadth of the isle to test herself against its inhabitants in the wilderness. Though at first found wanting against them, with effort she soon found herself able to stand toe-to-toe with most fully unarmed. But still it was not enough. Wandering through Urosil and chancing upon one of its Hedera, they pledged assistance to her and gave sound advice: in order for Simone to reach her greatest potential, she would need a grander purpose than to seek out violence for its own sake. Such was a fool's errand and would leave her hollow and spiritually bereft. However, being suspicious by nature of the spirits and all they offered by merit of inherited superstition, she did not see how this would help her.
  16.
  17. A chance meeting saw her path cross with Labrys on one of his visits to Urosil. The towering Champion of Delta caught her notice and her awe alike, and just before he departed she asked the secret to his size and strength. He claimed that meat, fighting great foes, and wrestling with underwater beasts were his trick, and she was left to digest and follow much of this advice. Not that she hadn't already been, in her own way.
  18.
  19. Though still not comfortable with the notion of offering supplication to the Spirits, Simone wanted to set her sights on earning a Gift. However that might come to pass. She sought out Mercury, the Hedera that had pledged their assistance, and asked their advice. Understanding Simone's pride and reluctance to beg for any manner of Gift, they (un)wisely suggested that they earn it through brute force, going so far as to suggesting the barbarian nomad call down Labrys and challenge him to combat. This, of course, sits well with Simone's sensibilities and she begins to plot at once.
  20.
  21. In time, and as the populace of Sarea tolerates her barbaric ways (for the most part), Simone comes to gain a greater appreciation for the isle and its people. While she does not feel as one of the people of the cities, she does not feel unwelcome either as her people tended to be in polite society. So when the corruption came to the spirits of the Caldera she offered her aid to the people of Lett-Mora. Not simply out of a desire for violence and the feather in the cap that subduing a spirit presented, though that was still a primary driving force, but to better understand what Lett Mora's people saw in their spirits and their bond. They were victorious in the end in subduing the Caldera spirit and drawing out its corruption.
  22.
  23. Coming to understand that the wildkin that inhabit Sarea have gifts in a way that they earn, Simone seeks out the few she is familiar with. Namely, Tikale and Pascha Pavolva. The later in particular is the most enlightening, the Providence medic and the target of her occasional bullying speaks of the event which earned him his gift, and the reverence he holds for the Mother Bear. An ursine protector and, the way he tells it, benevolent figure. Due to the barbarian's mistrust of the spirits as forces for good in general, she remains skeptical.
  24.
  25. Seeking to earn her gift in her own way, Simone attempts to call down Labrys to fight. She prepares a meal of the finest mead she can make, and frog skewers made from the abandoned corporeal form of the spirit of commerce, Frogbert. Unfortunately she is not able to reach him before his noble death in assisting to dispatch the High Faerla.
  26.
  27. The time comes where the people of Sarea gather to not only dispatch the scythe-wielding king of the Nether, but the High Faerlan envoys. Though she is unable to attend the one she works to protect, Grathamel Mispra, has devoted himself to helping cleanse the fae influence with those of Urosil and Providence. Feeling a twinge of desperation she takes her bear skull and offers a prayer to it and the Mother Bear for his protection, encouraging the merchant to wear it. They trade 'faces' for a time until he is able to return safely from the expedition. Though it is more likely than not her prayer had nothing to do with it, Simone is intent to keep her spoken oath to give the Mother Bear an offering.
  28.
  29. To that end, Pascha Pavlova and Karol Long agree to go with her up to a high, cold peak where the Mother's is said to sleep. They ward off hungry wolves and brave the storms to meet with one of her shrines in a cavern of a lofty peak. The Bear Spirit is grateful for their offerings and, though she explains she does not remember names and faces so well, she remembers intent and states that if she can hear a request for her assistance, she will do what she can to aid if the cause is worthy. Though silent on the matter, Simone was sufficiently moved when the Mother referred to them each as 'her children', and offered wisdom; sometimes violence is necessary in order to best protect those under one's care.
  30.
  31. Though not yet possessed of any gift, Simone attempts to direct her rage and obtain the battle-high she so craves through more constructive efforts. Discipline in that regard is hard for her to obtain, but an earnest attempt is made...Most times. The barbarian remains stubborn and headstrong, often clashing with the rules and laws of polite society that she finds counter productive. Things in Providence nearly come to a head when she finds that they are harboring an unnatural wraith.
  32.
  33. She is able to provide more appreciable assistance when roaming through the tunnel entrance to Providence. While pestering one of the young guards on duty, a boarkin by the name of Alexander Hayer, an aberration with the appearance of a child approaches, naming itself the Propeht. It demands to be let into the city in search of something, but the young guard names it for what it is, and the two together dispatch it from the tunnels- despite the boarkin's insistence that she flee. Simone finally finds a proper target for her fury, and she is dead set on meeting it in combat. The two become unlikely comrades and siblings in battle.
  34.
  35. Simone continues to remain apart from most of civilization where at all possible, but makes honest attempts to offer assistance to their safety. Alexander reaches her and gives her news of the upcoming Convergence, citing mutated creatures in the wilds and a shift in climes between Providence and Urosil. Though the task does not require violence, much to her chagrin, she assist him in moving some displaced frogs into a new home in the northern peaks.
  36.
  37. Seeing this trouble on the horizon, and wanting to assist in her own way, the nomad goes between each of the forts and cities, inquiring as to what they need. Though none of them have great asks, she provides what she can, mostly in the way of delivering information to potential refugees and offers of supplies between towns.
  38.
  39. This same news is provided to her partner Grathamel, who raises a very good and worthy point; these aberrations in the wilds will need culling, and there are certainly worse people for the job. He also speaks of attempting to access the deeper reaches of Sylva's dream, and suggests that she perhaps could gain some spiritual attunement too by conducting feats similar to or surpassing Labrys'.
  40.
  41. Inspired by this notion, and preparing for the coming Storm, Simone travels up to the highest peak on Sarea she can find. With her she takes all the trophies she has earned from her combats and conquests and buries them as offerings to Delta. Though she does not pray, she claims that she seeks to surpass his former champion and, that if he wishes to provide his assistance in helping her cull the coming blights in the wilds, she will take it. If not, she will do so alone.
  42.
  43. Applying For: Pretty much all of what I'd like is fluff. I don't suspect any of it should have catastrophic effect on gameplay, and if there are any suggested mechanical/verb affects I'm all ears for it.
