  1. [14:55] <Sh0rtWave> lo
  2. [14:55] <Sh0rtWave> I has a tethering problem
  3. [14:56] <av500> pray tell
  4. [14:58] <Sh0rtWave> I has an LG Incite
  5. [14:58] <Sh0rtWave> CT810
  6. [14:58] <Sh0rtWave> It's very nice phone
  7. [14:58] <Sh0rtWave> But
  8. [14:58] <Sh0rtWave> The Archos doesn't think it's a phone.
  9. [14:59] <av500> then it's not! :)
  10. [14:59] <Sh0rtWave> The Archos thinks it's a PC. Thus, when I go to enable tethering, it predictably doesn't show in the list as a phone I can use to tether with.
  11. [14:59] <Sh0rtWave> What I'd like to know
  12. [14:59] <Sh0rtWave> Is if there's a way to fix that tethering app so it doesn't filter PCs
  13. [14:59] <Sh0rtWave> OR
  14. [15:00] <dm8tbr> does your phone export the right profile over bluetooth?
  15. [15:00] <Sh0rtWave> Oh yes
  16. [15:00] <Sh0rtWave> I looked with sdptool records / browse, I see both DUN and PAN
  17. [15:00] <Sh0rtWave> <---not your average user
  18. [15:00] <Sh0rtWave> Alternatively, I could try to change how the phone reports itself
  19. [15:01] <Sh0rtWave> I suspect if I knew the right registry setting, I could make that adjustment
  20. [15:02] <av500> so how does it report itself?
  21. [15:02] <av500> can you paste what sdptool reports?
  22. [15:02] <dm8tbr> currently I wonder what makes the archos think it's a pc
  23. [15:02] <Sh0rtWave> according to "OS X", it shows up as a "Handheld"
  24. [15:02] <dm8tbr> listen to what av500 says, he knows :)
  25. [15:03] <Sh0rtWave> on the Archos, it shows up with a little PC monitor icon next to it
  26. [15:03] <av500> I see
  27. [15:03] <av500> lemme ask
