  7. [18:49] <@SandieGoGo> What sort of price range were you thinking of??? There are quite a range of cheap axes up to collectors editions axes that are very valuable!!!
  8. [18:49] <@SandieGoGo> Certain metal alloys are more commonly used in certain models of aXes to make them more durable.
  9. [18:50] <@SandieGoGo> Sometimes it taXe different handle shapes to add different nuances to how you swing the aXe as well.
  10. [18:50] <@SandieGoGo> Different styles of handle affect the cost too.
  11. [18:50] <@SandieGoGo> Its very complicated!!!
  12. [18:50] <uncertainBypasser> I really just want something for chopping wood in the backyard, as well as the occasional small tree if I'm camping or something.
  13. [18:51] <uncertainBypasser> As for price, I don't want to spend a ton, no more than $15 for every year the thing will last.

  16. [18:52] <@SandieGoGo> There is definitely a tradeoff between durability and cost. The size of the aXe is one of the biggest factors.

  18. [18:53] <@SandieGoGo> Were you thinking something bigger and two handed like those barbarian units in Civ, something really small that you could fold up and put in a purse or bag, or something more in between like what firefighters use to break things?

  20. [18:54] <uncertainBypasser> Well, probably something that is closer to a firefighter size, it needs to be able to be used 1 handed.
  21. [18:54] <uncertainBypasser> No idea how those barbarians actually hold those massive things.

  23. [18:55] <uncertainBypasser> Not really. Worst case scenario I finally use up my strife specibus and allocate it.
  24. [18:55] <@SandieGoGo> Hahaha, I wouldn't imagine youd want an aXe that huge just for your backyard!!!!! It taXe a lot of muscle just to be able to hold one of those things, let alone swing it at an enemy unit.....

  29. [18:58] <uncertainBypasser> A good few years, at least six. I was looking at this: http://goo.gl/fjkjNJ - it seems to have good reviews, but I figured experts may know of a better one

  31. [18:59] <@SandieGoGo> Yeah, that is a bit small if you are wanting to attack larger logs!!!
  32. [18:59] <@SandieGoGo> The Estwing Long Handle Camp Axe is a solid choice on the smaller side.
  33. [18:59] <@SandieGoGo> It is made with corrosion resistant metals and the slightly curved handle helps make shallower strokes easier.
  34. [19:00] <@SandieGoGo> The Browning Outdoorsman Axe is one of my personal favorites for casual use.
  35. [19:01] <@SandieGoGo> It has a larger blade that can make slicing through wood easier if you dont have too much Xperience with using aXes!!!!
  36. [19:01] <@SandieGoGo> Most of my serious business aXes are too big for what you want though......
  37. [19:01] <@SandieGoGo> I have allocated my aXes to my strife specibus.......
