    ◦ jaeyoung likes to consider him and his father close, because of his friendly nature and ability to get on with anyone. however, they're not really that close, as jaeyoung doesn't get to see his father very often, as the god doesn't seem to show much of an interest in him. sure, he turns up every once in a while to check on him, but that's about the only contact jaeyoung has with his father. his mother is still extremely friendly towards apollo, and just sits and chats to him like an old friend whenever he does make a rare surprise visit. youngjae hasn't met many of the other gods/goddesses, and the only other one he has met is artemis, as she is the twin sister of his father. however, she didn't seem too interested in him either, and continued to look at him disapprovingly.

» | BACKGROUND:
    → jaeyoung was born in autumn to a single mother in 1996, yet despite not having a husband, his mother managed to bring him up just fine on her own. his mother yoo hyunjae had met his father while she was working at a holiday resort in jeju island. however, when she found out she was pregnant, apollo had quickly explained who he was and left her to take care of the baby herself. jaeyoung's mother, however, was probably one of the kindest and friendliest people to walk the planet, and let him go without much of a fuss, and to this day does not really hold any ill feelings towards apollo. hyunjae quit her job at the holiday resort in jeju, and moved back to seoul, where she'd grown up. her parents were not pleased that she'd gotten pregnant at such a young age, especially without being married, and were even more furious when they found out that jaeyoung's father had run off and would not be of any help brining up the baby once he was born. however, about two years after jaeyoung was born, both of his grandparents passed away in an accident, leaving hyunjae on her own with no support to bring up her child as a single mother. she inherited a fair amount of money from her parents, nothing major, but it was enough for them to keep their lives together. jaeyoung's mother went and found a job at a local cafe, which paid well enough, allowing the family to afford their apartment in seoul (even if it was a rather stingy one). but hyunjae managed to pay the bills, so at least she and her son were happy. all throughout his pre school jaeyoung spent a lot of time in day care centres while his mother worked. however, despite working many hours, hyunjae still made time for her son as he grew up. growing up, jaeyoung had an interest in music, which was rather understandable, being the son of apollo. he'd always shown interest in the guitar, but his mother couldn't afford to pay for lessons. one day while jaeyoung was doing his homework in the corner booth of the cafe when he was ten, the daughter of the cafe owner offered to teach him. she had taken guitar lessons all throughout her childhood, and said she'd be willing to teach jaeyoung how to play guitar for a much cheaper price, and hyunjae agreed after seeing how excited her only son looked.
    → when jaeyoung was fourteen years old, his mother finally saw fit to tell her son the truth about his father. she'd prepared a massive speech about it, and was preparing for the worst possible reaction from her son. however, he seemed to take it quite well (at least, if you compare it to annie and xin). instead, he took it rather calmly, and then requested to meet his father, before staying up later that night, researching everything he possible could on the internet and on his school text books about the ancient greek gods, particularly his father. he believes the first time he met his father, things went relatively well, even though his father looked uncomfortable the whole time. his mother was in no way awkward about the whole thing, and continued to be friendly to him, despite what happened years ago. his father didn't stay for very long, however, and doesn't actually visit his son very often, but jaeyoung still believes they have a good relationship, even if they don't see each other very often. his friends were actually very surprised and interested by the fact that he was a demigod, and people took to swarming him at school and asking questions. they all found it fascinating and asked him questions - most of which he didn't really have an answer for. however, it was because of his friends that he ended up as a trainee. due to only demigods being allowed to become trainees, and the lack of demigods in their friend group, jaeyoung was dared to attend an audition. sure, he agreed to the dare while he was drunk (because he was an immature seventeen year old), but his friend refused to let it go weeks later, even when they were all sober. eventually, jaeyoung agreed to go to an audition, just to get them all to shut up about it. he didn't think he had the talent to become an idol, because all he could really do was play the guitar (and a bit of the bass and ukulele, but he wasn't as confident in those instruments at the time), and his vocals weren't exactly the best either, and had plenty of room for improvement. by some fluke, jaeyoung passed the audition, much to his surprise and everyone else's, and was offered a contract. at first, jaeyoung didn't have any intentions of taking it, and all of his friends didn't think he'd take it either. however, on a whim, jaeyoung agreed to the terms on the contract and signed it, becoming a trainee, without really thinking it through (see: without really thinking about the chance he'd be put on sacrificial lamb). his friends were rather surprised at his decision, but his mother was very supportive, and always encouraged her son to do what he wanted with his life, determined not to hold him back or pressure him into something he didn't want to do. after becoming a trainee, his father turned up again for the second time, and announced that jaeyoung would have to start training for sacrificial lamb.

» | PERSONALITY:
    → at first glance, jaeyoung seems like a person who looks calm and collected. however, you should never trust your first opinion of him, because all of his group mates can assure you that he is the complete opposite of calm. jaeyoung is extremely hyperactive, and often acts as if he's on a permanent sugar high, often bouncing off the walls in excitement. he always seems to have the most energy in the group, and while the others are exhausted and want to sleep, jaeyoung is still wide awake and full of energy. people often think it is because he drinks too much coffee, and people often advise him to stay away from caffeine. however, jaeyoung absolutely hates any caffeinated drink, and people are actually surprised to find this out, since that was their automatic assumption for why he has so much energy. jaeyoung actually has mild adhd, so he can't really sit still for long period of times, and he always likes to be up and about and doing something. you can always tell when he's bored, because he starts tapping his feet , or fiddling with the rings on his fingers. he is very loud, and doesn't know the meaning of an inside voice, and has a habit of appearing out of nowhere and talking loudly into other people's ears. he is always trying to lighten the mood, and is known to tell horrible dad jokes and make really bad puns, which kind of annoy the rest of his group. his group mates are honestly just done with him 24/7, and have openly wondered why the company even though it would be a good idea to make him the leader. jaeyoung can be a bit overbearing and off-putting at times, but he really means well. he is one of the fan favourites, because despite the fact that his group mates are done with him all the time, fans seem to like his bubbly and talkative personality. he is a bit of a wildcard though, because people are never sure what he'll do next. he is known to randomly start singing all the time, and has a habit of just bursting out into song, and usually accompanies it by a show of his (bad) dance skills. he can be very shameless, and is a king of fan service. he does aegyo all the time, he does girl group dances (even though he sucks), and he often keeps up to date with any of the group's social media. he tries to act sexy a lot of the time, but absolutely fails, which is kind of surprising, because when you first look at him, he seems like the type of person who'd be able to pull off the sexy concept quite easily. jaeyoung is the group's "blonde" member, and can appear to be a bit of an idiot sometimes, because he asks a lot of really dumb and stupid questions at really dumb and stupid times, which earn him a lot of weird looks from both his group mates and the staff alike. so even though he is generally a loveable person, he can also be very annoying, especially if you don't have the patience to deal with his childish ways. he is also an extremely clingy person, and does not know the meaning of personal space, choosing to literally hang off other people and pay no attention to their unease. however, despite all of his childish traits, he is a good leader, and he's always trying to make sure that his group mates are okay, and offer a shoulder for them to cry on or an ear for them to rant to. he doesn't often get mad at others, and anger is an emotion he doesn't really like. he hates getting angry, and he doesn't really like it when other people get angry either, especially if he's on the receiving end of it. jaeyoung is also the type of person who you would think would be the first person to die in a zombie apocalypse, probably by doing something stupid like opening the door when there is a whole group of zombies outside. this of course, has basically written him off as any real competition in sacrificial lamb, because people think he'll probably be one of the first to die. he literally has the mental age of a five year old, and acts more like a child than an adult most of the time. he likes the freedom that comes with being a little kid, and honestly doesn't like the stress he's put under for being an adult.

    → he did it as a dare, to be honest. he was an immature seventeen year old, who liked to play the guitar and sing, and had a bunch of really immature friends who dared him to audition for jyp. jaeyoung actually doesn't know why he went through with it, but he attended the audition, sat down and played his guitar, and got a massive rush from it, even though he was only performing for the talent scouts (is that what they're called?). he didn't expect to be called back, and surprised everyone including himself by taking up the offer to become a trainee. even though he knew about sacrificial lamb, he was just hoping he wouldn't have to compete, and took up the trainee offer because he actually really liked music, and wanted to broaden his knowledge of composing and producing. plus, he thought he'd just help out with the music behind the scenes, and didn't think he would debut.

» | STYLE OF VOCAL: he's a lead vocalist, so he's not exactly in charge of hitting high notes or anything. he's mostly just a rapper. he doesn't really have a specific style or anything, he usually just does whatever fits in with the concept the group are going for.

» | STYLE OF RAP: as the main rapper of the group, he is in charge of doing most of the rapping. his rapping style is somewhat similar to MARK of GOT7's rapping style. obviously, he knows there is still a lot of room for improvement, because he only started rapping after joining jyp, but he's slowly starting to get better.

» | style of dance: he can't dance, like at all. he thinks he can dance, but he can't. and since being in a band doesn't actually require much dancing, he doesn't have to do it, but that doesn't stop him from attempting (see: failing) to do girl group dances.

    → there is literally no change from his normal personality. he is like a hyperactive puppy who's had way too much sugar, and is jumping up and down. jaeyoung gets a massive rush from performing on stage, and honestly cannot stand still once he's up there with all their fans cheering them on. he is always tapping his feet or bouncing on his toes or swinging his arms around a lot to try and get rid of his excess energy.

» | HOW THEY ACT OFF STAGE BUT ON CAMERA:
    → he talks a lot. like a lot a lot. it almost seems like he doesn't shut up, because you never hear him stop talking. he is careful not to completely hog the camera, especially during v-lives, and always makes sure that the other group members get an equal amount of screen time, but that doesn't mean he sits there quietly. even when he's not on camera, he can be heard talking loudly in the background. he's also good at diffusing the tension, so whenever things get awkward he just swoops in and changes the subject.

» | HOW THEY ACT OFF STAGE AND OFF CAMERA:
    → again, there is no change from his normally personality, and if anything, he's even more intense with so much energy and talking a mile a minute, so it's sort of understandable that his group mates get annoyed with him sometimes does try to tone it down a bit because he doesn't want to make his group mates hate him (even though he knows they don't actually hate him, and they're just pretending). he's not always successful at it, but at least his group mates still love him, even if they don't openly show it.

» | HARDSHIPS AND STRUGGLES AS A TRAINEE/IDOL:
    → when it comes to hardships during their trainee life, jaeyoung had it relatively easy compared to some of the others. really, all he struggled with was adjusting to trainee life. he'd never even considered becoming an idol at all until he'd been dared to audition and jyp had offered him a contract. so naturally, it took him a while to grow used to the little hours of sleep due to practice, and practicing so much that his throat became sore and his fingers were raw from his guitar. he also struggled with the intense diets they were put on, monitoring everything he was eating, and only eating a certain amount every day to maintain his weight. he did struggle a little bit talent wise, trying to adjust, because his vocals weren't as strong as some of the other trainees, and he was still working on his rap skills, which weren't actually very good yet. he didn't experience any major abuse either, but there were a few trainees who didn't really like him due to his bright personality, but other than avoiding all contact with him, they didn't do any real damage to jaeyoung.

» | POWERS + SKILL LEVEL:
    → ABILITY TO CREATE LIGHT SHIELDS/FORCE FIELDS (7/10)
     - this is probably going to be one of his best skills in sacrificial lamb, and he's good at it since he's been using it ever since he was a little kid. since he was terrified of the dark, he always used to conjure up small balls of light at nighttime to help him relax. it wasn't until years later that he realised they could be used as force fields, and of course, started practicing it even more. his skills aren't really the best he can be, and he is still limited to smaller force fields because he doesn't know how to focus the energy into larger ones, and can maybe only create one big enough to cover three people (including himself) at most.
    → SOUND MANIPULATION (6/10)
     - this is his second best skill, but he's not really sure how to use it as a weapon. he's mostly just been using it to drown out excessive noise when he's trying to write songs, or even play around with different melodies, and hasn't really tried using it against anyone outside from the small practice rooms. also he's kind of scared to use it sometimes, because he doesn't want to do any damage to the people around him accidentally. but while he's not the best at actually using it further than trying to write music, he is actually really good at controlling it, so that he doesn't accidentally let it loose without meaning to.
    → PERSUASION (5/10)
     - jaeyoung can be a very persuasive person when he wants to be, and he has a way of getting whatever he wants. however, this isn't always because of his skill. he thinks he's pretty good at persuading people, and has about a 50-50 success rate with it. however, whenever it doesn't work, he usually turns to annoying the shit out of the person until they eventually give in. he doesn't think that annoying other people is a good thing to rely on in sacrificial lamb, so he kind of just has to hope that when it comes down to it, he'll actually be able to persuade other people to give him what he wants, despite his 50-50 odds.
    → DIVINATION (3/10)
     - his skill levels of divination have always been low, despite being a son of apollo. this is mostly because growing up , his mother was a firm believer in "what happens happens" and that knowing too much of the future is a bad thing, and these views were then passed on down to jaeyoung. he's grown up with no interest in knowing about the future, and prefers to go along with the flow. his father has always tried to convince him to work on his skills, and it probably would've been a good advantage to have those skills for a show like sacrificial lamb, but jaeyoung's never really had the knack for it, and has never been able to remember what certain symbols in divination mean. at best with his full concentration, he can only really predict useless stuff that would be absolutely no help whatsoever.

» | EXPERIENCE + SKILL WITH WEAPONS/FIGHTING STYLES: (both sections have been combined again)
    → BOW & ARROW ; skill level (7/10)
     - this is literally the only weapon he can actually use. of course, it's kind of stereotypical, since his father was the god of archery, but jaeyoung was determined to learn how to use it, after he'd almost taken his father's eye out with it the first time he used it (he has no idea how, because his father was standing behind him at the time). luckily, he's gotten much better at it now, probably from his enhanced archery skills, and he has a decent aim, even though he doesn't really do well under pressure. he knows his skills could use some improvement and that he's definitely not the best archer out there, but he's hoping that his skills will get him out of sacrificial lamb alive.
    → MARTIAL ARTS ; skill level (2.5/10)
     - again, he didn't really take any martial arts lessons or anything until he became a trainee, because his decision to become a trainee sort of came out of nowhere, and he hadn't even thought about it prior to being accepted. so the only martial arts training he's ever done is underneath the company, in between the standard idol training. however, he sucks at it, and is more likely to injure himself while trying to throw a punch at someone else.

» | HOW DO THEY FEEL ABOUT BEING ON SACRIFICIAL LAMB?
    → he is scared shitless, and almost 100% certain he is going to die. he views himself as decently musically talented, but he knows he has no chance on a survival show like sacrificial lamb, and spent about three months before the show trying to come to terms with the fact that he is most probably going to die. he can't even stand the sight of blood, and if previous seasons are anything to go by, chances are that there will be a lot of bloodshed. he feels like he doesn't stand a chance, and he knows that most of the general public thinks he'll die within the first five minutes. however, he sort of wants to prove them wrong, and if he does die, he likes to hope he won't go down without a fight.

» | HOW WOULD YOUR CHARACTER REACT TO KILLING SOMEONE? WHAT IF S/HE WAS CLOSE TO THAT PERSON? WHAT IS S/HE HAD TO DO IT TO SURVIVE OR TO SAVE SOMEONE THEY ARE CLOSE WITH?
    → he'd probably be thinking something along the lines of  "oh shit oh shit oh shit" on repeat in his head, and just flee from the scene. i think it would take him a while to actually come to terms with the fact that he'd killed someone, and would feel really bad about it. he wouldn't be the type to go out and try and kill someone, and would probably end up causing someone else death by complete accident and without realising it. he would not kill any of his group mates under any circumstances, and i honestly don't think he'd be able to actually go through with anything and intentionally kill someone.

» | HOW WOULD YOUR CHARACTER REACT TO WATCHING SOMEONE DIE? WHAT IF S/HE WAS CLOSE TO THAT PERSON?
    → he wouldn't watch them die. if he saw someone dying, he'd be the type to get out of there and fast, by just turning around and running. while he isn't exactly the type of person to go out of their way to actually kill someone, he is the type to not actually go and help if they were dying, because his first instinct would be yelling to get out of there, especially if the person was bleeding, and he cannot stand the sight of blood.

» | WOULD YOUR CHARACTER SABOTAGE SOMEONE ELSE? WHAT IF IT WAS TO SAVE SOMEONE S/HE IS CLOSE TO? HOW WOULD SHE REACT IF THAT CAUSED THE PERSON'S DEAHT?
    → i don't think he has the skills to actually sabotage someone else. if it was a plan put together by the whole group, i think the rest of them would deb likely to try and keep him from doing any of the dirty work, scared he'd mess it up somehow, so he'd probably just be behind the scenes of it all. he'd be the one person who was brainstorming possible ideas (most of which are probably stupid and completely useless anyway) rather than actually acting upon any of it.
