  1. I was dreaming of being a farmer that was toiling his field, before I was awoken by a cloaked woman with Amber colored reptilian eyes, "Wake up, it's time to go."
  2.
  3. "You woke up before me? That's a first." I get up and stretch my body, before looking up at the sky, "It's already dawn?"
  4.
  5. "Yes, it is. I've already took care of the fire pit" The cloaked woman says while sitting on a nearby log and pointing at what was our fire pit.
  6. "At least you're being productive." I grumble out while cracking my neck and removing any bits of sand from my eyes.
  7. "So what are we eating for breakfast?" My cloaked companion asks with a bit of energy and a trail of drool leaking from her mouth. Is food and eating all she thinks about? I've been traveling with her for almost a year now, and that's what I've seen her care most about.
  8. "We're out of jerky, so unless you feel like catching a rabbit you'll just have to wait until we reach the next town." My companion slumps her shoulders and hangs her head, "Fine."
  9. After a little bit more morning banter, we both set off towards the nearest town on a nearby road. According to our falling apart map it's Giya, a little farming town. "We should reach Giya in a few hours if we keep walking down this road." I tell my companion as we walk down the road.
  10. "A few hours? Ugh, that's too long. Glen, are you sure we don't have anything edible left to eat?"
  11. I turn towards her, "I'm pretty sure. You can wait a few more hours."
  12.
  13. After walking for about an hour, my female companion stops and begins to sniff the air. I turn towards her and ask with a cocked brow, "What is it?"
  14. She licks her lips and shows of a toothy smile, "I know that smell anywhere." Snapping her head to the right, she locks on to a distant object. I think it's a cow? Oh no, not again...
  15. "Sarah, I know what you're thinking, but don' eat it. We don't need angry farmers chasing us out of another area again." I try to reason with her, but my words fall upon deaf ears. She begins dashing towards the cow. I try to chase after her and stop her from killing it, but she's a lot faster than me. By the time I catch up, she's killed and eaten every bit of the cow, excluding its bones, intestines, and anus.
  16. "Mmmm, nothing beats a meal that's still "mooing", right?" Sarah turns to me while licking away blood that's around her mouth. Urgh. "Yeah yeah, sure. Can we get out of here before anyone notices us?" I ask the voracious woman while constantly checking my surroundings for a farmer.
  17. She frowns and sighs, "Fine fine. Let's go." We quickly shuffle our way to the next town. There was a spring in Sarah's step since she got to eat her favorite thing. If only I was so carefree...
  18.
  19. We finally reach Giya after another two hours of walking, and watching Sarah decimate a field of cattle...
  20. As we expected, it's a nice little farming community, with a calm and relaxing atmosphere about it.
  21.
  22. ??
  23.
  24. An elderly man quickly shuffles his way towards us.
  25. "You there! You look like a man who can deal with problems!" The old man shouts while pointing a cane at me.
  26. I put on a large smile and shrug, "I think you're mistaken, we're just travelers that are passing through town."
  27. "Is that sword just for show?!" He points at the sword on my hip with his cane, before turning his attention to my friend, "And her! She's covered in blood! Possibly from some monster, or bandit hoard!?"
  28. I put my hand on my hip, "Look, we know where this is going, and we're not interested."
  29. The old man gets on his knees and begins to beg, "Please! I'm the Mayor! I'll pay you, or even let you get free supplies and stay for a few nights at the local inn!"
  30. Sarah gets close to my ear and whispers into it, "You know, this might be beneficial to us." I turn my head towards her and whisper back, "Yeah, but I don't want to be everyone's helper monkey. If I help him, I'll have to help everyone else in town."
  31. She sighs before elbowing me in the side, "Just think about it, please? I'm sure you don't want to sleep on the forest floor again, and have to worry about werewolves and goblins for a few nights?"
  32. ...that DOES sound appealing...
  33. I give in and grumble loudly, "Fine, I'll help out the old fart."
  34. "Thank you, Thank you!" The old man begins to thanks us and hug my leg.
  35. "Don't touch me." I shake him off, and sigh, "So what is it that you need help with?" I swear if it involves werewolves I'll burn the whole town to the ground...
  36. "We need help dealing with Bandits that have been harassing our town for the past couple of months now!"
  37. Sarah cracks a smile and pats my shoulder, "Bandits? That sounds like something easy, even for someone as lazy as you."
  38. I cup my chin with my right hand, "Is that all? No catch? Or something you're forgetting?"
  39. "I don't forget anything!" The old man yells out before looking at us with a confused expression, "Who are you people again?"
  40. "..."
  41.
  42. The two of us ask around town for the location of the Bandit's hideout. After being told to fuck off by half of the town, including the children, a blacksmith finally tells us where it's located. It's a makeshift camp not too far outside of town.
  43. Why hasn't the entire town just assaulted the camp and dealt with them through sheer numbers? They're probably cowards.
  44.
  45. I ready my gear and turn to Sarah, who's sitting in a simple wooden chair, "Alright, I'll deal with them myself." She stares at me with her piercing eyes while biting into an apple, "You sure you can do it on your own?"
  46. "It's just a couple bandits, even you could take care of them on your own." Sarah gets flustered at my words, and throws the apple in her hand at me. But...it hits the ground about a foot in front of her... I ignore what happened and continue talking, "Anyway, I also need you here to make sure these people don't double cross me."
  47. She begins kicking her feet, "You honestly think that they'll do that to you?"
  48. "No, but it never hurts to be safe. Anyway, if I don't come back, write something fitting on my tombstone." I walk out of the room I was in while waving, and begin heading towards the Bandit camp. This should be easy, so long as my crappy luck doesn't kick in.
  49.
  50. It takes little time waking towards the Bandit's little makeshift camp. I safely examine it from a safe distance away.
  51. There's two of them sitting by a fire, and possibly one more in one of the tents, meaning there's three. Yeah, the town could have easily took care of this themselves. I'd call them lazy, but I have no right to point fingers in that department...
  52.
  53. "Oh, lookie here!" A deep voice comes bellowing from the heavens behind me.
  54.
  55. !?
  56.
  57. I quickly roll to my right, and dodge an incoming chop from an enormous axe. I look up at its owner; a giant burly man covered in animal pelts and jewelry. Guess he must be the reason nobody in town handled this themselves. He laughs while patting his stomach, "Impressive! I haven't seen anybody dodge my first attack before!"
  58. While standing up, I sneer at the grizzly man, "Not like it was hard." He twists his face in anger at me, "How dare you! I'll have you know I used to be a proud knight! In my younger days I killed pipsqueaks like you left and right! In fact, we even used to-" He continues to go on and on about himself and what his time as a knight was like.
  59. ...This is quite aggravating. Instead of letting him finish his little story, I unsheathe my sword and thrust it into his neck with blinding speed and precision. A fountain of blood shoots out as his body plops onto the earth below. I look at the pile of meat that was once a man, and scoff while wiping blood off of my sword, "A Knight, huh? I wouldn't know what that was like, since I was just a lowly soldier fighting on the front lines while you fat lard asses paraded yourselves around on your inbred horses."
  60. Once I'm finished talking to the dead body, I begin moving towards the camp. The two bandits by the fire notice me, and tried to attack me at the same time. It didn't work out for them, as I effortlessly dodged their attacks and delivered deathblows to them at the same time. Once those two were dealt with, the last one walks out of the tent naked, "What's all the commotion about!?" His expression changes from anger to fright upon noticing me standing near his fallen comrades. He falls on his ass and begins to back away as I walk over towards him.
  61. I smile and rest my sword on my shoulder, "What are you running away for? It's not going to do you any good, you know?"
  62. The remaining bandit proceeds to piss himself while cowering, "Why? Are you that stupid?! I'm scared of dying!"
  63. "Well, that's understandable, I guess."
  64. "Besides, I know who you are! You demon!"
  65. My smile forms into a large scowl, "...Do you now?" I guess he's seen my face on a wanted poster somewhere...
  66. "I know a lot about you! About what you did, and how because of you the Holy City was taken over by monsters and traitors! There's an enormous bounty on your head, Glen! You won't kill me, since I know about what you've done!" The man tries to act tough while pointing at me, despite the giant puddle of piss he's sitting in that's still growing. He's probably delusional at this point.
  67. "...Looks like I'll HAVE to kill you now, and I was going to let you go too." I sigh before lowering my sword and stabbing him in the heart. He dies instantly from the blow.
  68.
  69. ??
  70.
  71. Is there anything in the nearby tent...?
  72. "Anyone still in there?" I poke my head inside, and find a woman tied up and gagged, "Oh my.."
  73. She appears to be unconscious. Judging from the bruises she has, she was beaten severely until knocked out. It's also safe to assume they raped her. They're bandits, would you expect anything less?
  74.
  75. I decide to carry her back, and upon reaching the town, I gaze at the spectacle that is smouldering corpses.
  76. My eyes open wide, "Just what happened here?!" Almost as if on cue, Sarah walks up besides me, "I happened. While you were gone, a little group of Bandits attacked the town." I turn around and leer at her, but she ignores it and smiles triumphantly at what she's done.
  77. Well, at least this explains why there were only a small handful of bandits at the camp....
  78.
  79. Sarah stops smiling and begins poking the girl I'm holding in the face, "By the way, who's the girl?"
  80. "Just someone I found at the camp, I'm sure she's some villager's daughter." After handing the girl over to a local doctor, and having the town thank us personally, the two of us stand in the middle of town. "What should we do now?" Sarah asks me with a blank expression.
  81. Hmmm, maybe we should retire to the inn? I'd finally be able to sleep on a bed again...
  82. I stretch and yawn loudly, "Let's head to the inn, I'm tired."
  83. "...But it's not even dusk yet..." Sarah says while narrowing her eyes at me.
  84. Despite being reluctant, Sarah follows me to the local inn. "Hello, what can I do for you?" The fat man behind the desk greets us in an overly feminine manner. I try not to stare at him and answer, "We'd like a room."
  85. "Ohoho, looking for a little private time together, you two?" The fat man laughs, causing his fat belly to jiggle like pudding.
  86. "Just give us a room already." I begin raising my voice in impatience.
  87. "Alright then, anything for the two who dealt with those DASTARDLY Bandits!" He grabs a key from behind him and hands it to us, "Here you go~" Sarah snatches it from his hands, and the two of us walk over to our room. It's quite pleasant.
  88. The pillows aren't full of straw, or mice. The blankets aren't stained with various things. The bed itself isn't a block of wood or stone. And probably most important of all; There's a proper fireplace! Not our halfassed fire pits!
  89. I jump on one of the beads, and begin rolling around on it like a pig in mud, "Is this heaven?"
  90. "You sure are content." Sarah speaks up while nibbling on a piece of dried meat and taking her cloak off. Underneath that cloak was a Dragon girl with majestic horns, sharp claws, a beautiful tail, magnificent wings, and radiant silver scales. I turn my head towards her and stare, "You sure you should take that off? Someone might notice you through a window."
  91. "I doubt that would happen." Sarah waves me off while taking a seat on the bed next to me. I reposition myself and wrap a blanket around my body, "Anyway, I'm going to take a long nap, try and guard me while I sleep." The Dragon girl merely shrugs, "Fine, I'll watch you."
  92. I quickly drift off into the land of dreams, and continue where I left off in my first dream.
  93.
  94. Hours pass as I rest in the comfy bed. During that time, Sarah has blocked off the windows and doors with various things. She doesn't want to be seen, nor does she want anybody to see what she's about to do.
  95. With slow and gentle motions she crawls into my bed, and embraces me in a close hug before falling asleep next to me.
