Asriel comforts bullied Kris

>Kris is the only human in a town full of monsters
>Unfortunately, this makes him an easy target for bullying and ridicule
>Middle school aged Kris gets picked on by older monsters
>They call him terms like "bleeder" and "meatbag"
>Or just plain "freak"
>Kris's silent and somewhat-creepy demeanor doesn't do him any favors
>On one particularly bad day, one monster pushes Kris to the floor and tells him that none of the monsters actually like him and that he'll always be a worthless human
>Kris runs home, ignoring Toriel's heartfelt greeting
>Runs to his bedroom, slams the door, and jumps into bed
>Hides under the covers, curls into a ball and cries
>A few minutes later, high school senior Asriel arrives home
>As he takes off his jacket and puts his bag away, he hears Kris's muffled crying coming from the bedroom
>Slowly walks down the hallway and gently knocks on Kris's door
>Kris, embarrassed about showing weakness, tries to stop crying and wipe the tears from his face
>Asriel knocks again and gently asks "Hey, can I come in?"
>Kris hesitates for a moment
>"W-whatever." Kris says as monotonously as he possible can, though it's still blatantly obvious to Asriel that he's been crying
>Asriel slowly turns the knob and creaks open the door
>Kris finishes wiping the tears from his face and emerges from under his covers, not wanting to look like a crybaby in front of his big brother
>"Howdy, bud.", Asriel says warmly, "Is everything okay?"
>"F-fine."
>Asriel frowns a little
>He walks over to Kris's bed and sits beside him, placing a big furry hand on Kris's back
>Kris trembles a little from his touch, sniffling back more tears
>"Well, okay. But if something's wrong... I'm here for ya, Kris."
>Kris sniffles again, sitting silently for a few minutes as Asriel gently pats his back
>Just as Asriel lifts himself off the bed, Kris speaks
>"Azzy?", Kris asks in a wavering voice
>Asriel sits back down. "Mm hmm?"
>"Do you still like me, even though I'm a... a human?"
>Asriel is slightly taken aback by this question
>"Kris.", he says softly, "I'd like you no matter what, buddy. You're my brother, after all."
>Tears brim in Kris's eyes, and this time he makes no effort to hide them
>"But... I'm not like you. Or mom. Or anybody in town. I'm just..."
>Kris chokes up, a tear now running down his face
>"I'm just a f-freak."
>As Kris sobs, Asriel wordlessly shifts to face Kris and extends both arms towards the crying boy
>Kris offers no resistance as Asriel wraps his arms around his adopted brother and pulls him close
>Kris buries his face in his big brother's sweater, staining it with tears
>"There, there.", Asriel comforts his brother, gently rubbing his back with a furry hand
>"You're not a freak, Kris. No matter what anybody says. And it doesn't matter whether you're human, or monster, or whatever. You're my brother, and my best friend. No matter what."
>Kris holds Asriel tightly, the goat teen's warmth and genuine kindness comforting him
>"I love you, Azzy."
>Asriel smiles and ruffles the human boy's hair
>"I love you too, Kris."
