gushing_granny: recap

gushing_granny: jack is leaving the military

gushing_granny: why?

gushing_granny: well, if you read part 10 you would know why wouldnt you.

gushing_granny: dan is still laying on the rock, contemplating recent events

gushing_granny: "man, i cant believe this....."

gushing_granny: "if only me a year ago knew all this crazy stuff would happen, he would flip shit."

gushing_granny: "well, current me is flipping shit over all this stuff."

gushing_granny: he whistles a bit, and taps his feet on the rock

gushing_granny: "man, its so boring without my phone."

gushing_granny: "oh yeah, nini has it. wonder if ill ever see her again."

gushing_granny: "....."

gushing_granny: "i should have listened to her."

gushing_granny: "the orc king almost killed me when we fought...well, i almost killed myself trying to fight the orc king."

gushing_granny: "suicide actually isnt too far fetched for me right now."

gushing_granny: dan averts his attention to a random spot in the woods, an animal is screeching at the top of its lungs in a very high pitch

gushing_granny: he covers his ears "fucks sake, what are their vocal cords made of, titanium?!"

gushing_granny: he gets up and runs away from the tree where the alien animal is perched

gushing_granny: he makes his way to a cliff

gushing_granny: "man....this world looks so.....different."

gushing_granny: he looks over the cliff at a vast sea

gushing_granny: he sits down near the cliffs edge looking over at that sea

gushing_granny: he studies the rippling waves of the tides

gushing_granny: "hmm...."

gushing_granny: "the way that water swirls...."

gushing_granny: "its just like destron...."

gushing_granny: "so powerful and destructive, and yet.....so peaceful"

gushing_granny: "this energy.....i dont even know how to use it....and yet somehow....."

gushing_granny: dan conjures up a few negative memories and focuses on his hand, a small, bright blue spark of energy escapes from it

gushing_granny: "it.....calls out to me....like ive been able to use it for my entire life and i didnt even know how until i got the void stone."

gushing_granny: "hmph."

gushing_granny: dan lays back in the soft grass, a howling, brisk wind rushes over him

gushing_granny: "i wonder how my sister is doing."

gushing_granny: "before i went to work out that day...."

gushing_granny: "she actually seemed.....happy to see me...."

gushing_granny: "we didnt argue....we just....had a normal conversation for once"

gushing_granny: "that one time, the only time i can think of, she understood my situation."

gushing_granny: dan sighs

gushing_granny: "and my friends....."

gushing_granny: he tears up a bit

gushing_granny: "lets not think about that."

gushing_granny: dan sits there in silence for a few minutes, just silently meditating and mulling over his emotions

gushing_granny: "hmm."

gushing_granny: "the master did say i had an emotional block."

gushing_granny: "i still dont know what he means by that exactly....."

gushing_granny: "he said controlling my emotions was the key to controlling my pulse."

gushing_granny: "ive had to learn to control my emotions just to survive in this hellhole i call a life."

gushing_granny: "hmph. shows what i know."

gushing_granny: dan sees a few birds flying over head

gushing_granny: he outstretches his hand

gushing_granny: "how did i do that attack i did before with the orc king?"

gushing_granny: "maybe reflecting on my emotional state will help me figure out this pulse thing"

gushing_granny: he continues tracking the bird like creatures overhead with his hand while thinking

gushing_granny: "......"

gushing_granny: "steady aim....."

gushing_granny: he jerks his hand to the right a bit

gushing_granny: "......."

gushing_granny: "wait a second"

gushing_granny: "i wasnt just thinking about all the times the bullies beat me up when i did that crazy attack on the orc king"

gushing_granny: "shoot, what was i thinking about....?"

gushing_granny: dan closes his eyes

gushing_granny: to his surprise, he can recall the memory of him fighting the orc king to an almost real time accuracy, like playing a movie in his head

gushing_granny:

	"if i charge up the attack like a did last time, it maybe powerful enough to defeat this guy, maybe....."

	dan closes his eyes, a blue aura surrounds him, flaring wildly
	he recalls the memory of the bully stomping his arm
	the king looks at dan "his energy is rising."
	he focuses on the memory while chanting "pain is power, pain is power, pain is power....."
	a massive sphere of energy encircles his arm
	"what? it didnt look like this the last time....."
	his arm suddenly jerks forward, and a massive wave of energy erupts out of his arm "WHAT THE HELL"

gushing_granny: "......"

gushing_granny: dan opens his eyes "oh yeah"

gushing_granny: he begins reflecting over the emotions he felt at the time

gushing_granny: as he does this, he stands up, still aiming at the bird like creatures who were flying away from him

gushing_granny: "well....."

gushing_granny: "i was desperate....."

gushing_granny: "and wanted to win, so i thought about the time where that asshole bully was stomping my arm"

gushing_granny: "if there is one thing i know about energy, whatever body part you focus on while channeling your energy, the energy usually moves there....."

gushing_granny: "how the hell did it do that wave attack though?"

gushing_granny: he replays the thoughts in his head again

gushing_granny: "hmm.....i was standing like this"

gushing_granny: he widens his legs, and puts his arm on his other arm

gushing_granny: "wait a second....what was it that the master was talking about before..."

gushing_granny: "about that...'kan' stuff"

gushing_granny: he remembers the steps you have to take to use a kan art

gushing_granny: "kan, gan, shan, zan....."

gushing_granny: "the essence, the body, the mind, and the element....hmm....."

gushing_granny: he re-adjusts his aim again

gushing_granny: "well, i got destron, so thats the kan i guess"

gushing_granny: he shifts his stance to accurately reflect the stance he was taking when he charged up energy to attack the orc king

gushing_granny: "gan is how energy flows through the body....so i guess i should be standing in the same position i was before....."

gushing_granny: "next up is shan...."

gushing_granny: "......."

gushing_granny: "holy shit, i think i know how i did it now"

gushing_granny: "i was thinking about something else, besides the bully...."

gushing_granny: "damn, what was it again"

gushing_granny: dan closes his eyes for a few seconds

gushing_granny: when he opens them again, he smiles, gaining a confident look on his face

gushing_granny: "so. thats what it was."

gushing_granny: "my brain must have directed the energy within my body to reflect what i was thinking about...."

gushing_granny: he steps back again, and takes aim

gushing_granny: making sure to get into the right stance, and recall the right memory

gushing_granny: "thats what it was....."

gushing_granny: he recalls the memory

gushing_granny: the bully is stomping his arm

gushing_granny: and intense feeling of anger, and a desire to win fills his mind

gushing_granny: waves of swirling, bright blue destron encircle his body

gushing_granny: dan strains, trying to latch on to the memory to keep the destron flowing within his aura

gushing_granny: "come on....this has to work...."

gushing_granny: the energy begins funneling towards his hands as he redirects his aim to compensate for the bird like creatures distance, the wind continues to howl over him

gushing_granny: "judging by the direction and speed that.....whatever is flying in"

gushing_granny: dan shifts his hands over a bit, then closes his eyes

gushing_granny: the destron glows brighter and brighter in his hands

gushing_granny: "come on....think of it....like you did before"

gushing_granny: dan strains his mind farther and farther, the orb of energy grows

gushing_granny: "the other thing you were thinking of while you were charging that energy......was goku's kamehameha, wasnt it?"

gushing_granny: the energy surrounding dans hands solidifies into an orb, dan begins grunting, the energy is so dense it pushes back against him, he struggles to keep its form

gushing_granny: he opens his eyes and looks up with an intense, enraged look on his face

gushing_granny: "NOW DO IT"

gushing_granny: "DESTRON BEAM"

gushing_granny: dan shoots the ball of energy, it transforms into a massive wave

gushing_granny: it blazes across the sky, and it disintegrates the small group of bird-like creatures instantly

gushing_granny: dan looks up at the sky as the mass of energy dissipates

gushing_granny: "holy fuck....did i just do an anime attack"

gushing_granny: dan twitches from the backlash of using destron

gushing_granny: "ouch.....totally still worth it."

gushing_granny: he smiles, and falls on his back "hooooly shit, i just learned how to use a fucking kamehameha."

gushing_granny: he looks up at the night sky, still smiling

gushing_granny: "you know."

gushing_granny: "maybe my life isnt so bad after all."

gushing_granny: dan just lays there, going over the memories of how he just did that attack to solidify it in his mind

gushing_granny: suddenly, a voice could be heard near the cliff, it sounds exasperated

gushing_granny: dan averts his attention toward the voice

gushing_granny: "dan? did you just do that? that was amazing!"

gushing_granny: dan gets up as akos runs into view

gushing_granny: "oh hey, i thought i was alone, what are you doing here?"

gushing_granny: "the master sent me to come get you"

gushing_granny: "hmm? so he actually cares?"

gushing_granny: "probably not, but heres what he told me."

gushing_granny: "it went something like 'i dont have time to go chasing after that sentimental buffoon, bring him back here, and ill teach you a new pyro art.'"

gushing_granny: dan stops smiling

gushing_granny: "yeah. sounds like him."

gushing_granny: "forget about that for a second dan....."

gushing_granny: "what the hell was that attack i saw just now?!"

gushing_granny: "hey you're a kid, you shouldnt be cursing like that!"

gushing_granny: "shut the fuck up and tell me how you did that move." akos cloaks his right hand in flame

gushing_granny: dans eyes widen, memories resurface of the training session that happened between him and akos earlier that day

gushing_granny: dan quickly regains his composure however and speaks

gushing_granny: "sheesh, if you want to know so bad."

gushing_granny: "that was just something i picked up from some cartoons i used to watch back on my world."

gushing_granny: "cartoons?"

gushing_granny: dan gives a brief explanation of cartoons, then anime, then dragon ball z

gushing_granny: "wow, that sounds super neat dan"

gushing_granny: "you bet it is."

gushing_granny: "yeah, yeah. now, the master said he wanted me to bring you back before sunrise, so we better get going....."

gushing_granny: "or what?"

gushing_granny: "face punch. every minute? remember?"

gushing_granny: dan and akos begin running as fast as they can back towards the village
