All shut-in's apathy ceased
The day Atari released

And Astroids was there in arcades everywhere
Space Invaders lent a helping hand
Then sometime after Pong we would meet Donkey Kong
Who just took all our quarters and ran
But it wasn't long before it showed up in a store
And this is how it all began

Miyamoto, Mario and Zelda
Watch Pacman eat in an arcade cabinet
While Samus fights in some far off planet

On a late night, playing vidya all alone

Then came the SNES and Sega Genesis
The console wars had finally begun
A blue hedgehog grabbed rings just like a flash on the screen
But a plumber somehow just was too fun
And a good GPU didn't mean much to you
When you didn't need a keyboard and mouse
And no one would get pissed and you call you misogynist
If you invited them to your house
