       — Both of Nawoon's parents were born in Busan, South Korea, however, Ray's father's work forced her and her family to move around a lot so Nawoon was born in Gwangyang. The family moved to Tampa, Florida when she was only 5 and stayed there until Nawoon was 10 before her father  moved back to Korea so nawoon and her mother went as well. But before moving to Korea, Nawoon became infatuated with the performers on the streets of Florida and her passion for dancing and rapping grew from there. It was all she talked about, day in and day out nawoon spoke of the wonderful melodies the people spun on the streets and how she wanted to be just like them. At first his parents were apprehensive because they knew how hard the idol life could be. Nawoon's parents tried to just pretend it was a phase but as Nawoon grew up she thought herelf how to dance and rap and soon even began busking out around Busan. Nawoon's "phase" never ended and before she knew it Nawoon was being recruited by Sm Entertainment. In Nawoon's own words, "This woman kind of just came up to me one day while I was dancing and told me I was really good and that she wanted to recruit me and I said 'ok cool,' and then I kind of just became a part of Sm Entrainment."Nawoon still isn't quite sure how it all happened because it all became a blur in her  memories but It still shocks herself every time she tells the story. Nawoon's relationship with her father is a bit tense because she knows her father doesn't like that she wants to be an idol but in the end he supports Nawoon's decisions and that's what matters to her the most in the end. She really looks up to her father even though he wasn't around much because of work.Nawoon wants to prove him wrong and make him proud.
