Like a rising sun, the captive C’tan Shard emerged out of the ocean of flame, molten rock spilling from its elemental flesh as it ascended the mountain. Ulrik saw the creature glide through the air towards the Wolf Priest even as he tried to land a telling blow upon the Necron leader. Everywhere Space Wolves burst into flames, Dreadnoughts were wreathed in fire and the stone beneath their feet started to melt. Against such a creature the Wolf Guard were too few, this Ulrik bitterly conceded, and so he ordered the retreat.
