  1. Ocarina of Time All Dungeons vs MST
  2.
  3.
  4.
  5. All dungeons has much less cutscenes. These are the major cutscenes that MST has to watch and AD doesn't
  6. -zelda (3:00)
  7. -magic (1:10)
  8. -water medallion (2:45)
  9. -light arrow (4:50)
  10. -beginning ganondorf fight (1:30)
  11.
  12. over 13 extra minutes of just major cutscenes, not counting extra travel time to get to these cutscenes or other extra smaller cutscenes
  13.
  14. Now for the dungeons themselves
  15.
  16. AD does BotW and MST does not - I personally like botw and I find it interesting and unique that a run like this would enter an otherwise unnecessary dungeon to get chus. Though on the other hand, MST gets more chus (20 vs 10) which both makes some things easier and allows for more interesting chu usage.
  17.
  18. shadow - AD does almost none of shadow, just grabs the hover boots, leaves, then warps to bongo later on and heads out again. MST on the other hand does about 5 more minutes of actually going through shadow and doing some more tricks. While I do like the idea of doing more of dungeons and having more gameplay, I really love the wrong warp to bongo. Also, just as a personal opinion as someone who has been running OoT for so long, the shadow temple route in MST hasn't changed in YEARS. To me, its very old and boring and I want something new.
  19.
  20. forest - basically the same deal as shadow - more gameplay in MST, basically all of the dunegon skipped in AD, but the main route for forest up to bow hasn't changed in a very long time and I want something new. For both shadow and forest, I think someone who hasn't been running as long as I have would probably prefer more action going through the dungeons, I'm just tired of it.
  21.
  22. trials - this is one thing I do like about MST, the trials and pretty interesting and not seen in any other category. Lots of cool tricks and action, but the fact that it requires so much extra cutscenes really brings it down. There's also a small cutscene between each trial which can be a bit annoying.
  23.
  24. More interesting glitches
  25.
  26. the 3 main wrong warps in MST are deku - ganon, fire - forest and dc - gtg. These are the 3 most well known and commonly done wrong warps for just about anything. AD on the other hand does dc - gtg, deku - bongo and fire - ganon. DC is obviously the same but I find the wrong warp to bongo very unique and interesting, and the ww from fire to ganon has probably the most interesting setup of any trick in the game imo, as well as being a more unique wrong warp. I also think the concept of using a trade item expiration timer is really cool for the bongo ww, though the timer does limit the amount of optimization possible in that amount of time which is one downside.
  27.
  28. Overall time - the AD record is currently 28 minutes faster than the MST record. While it's not really that big of a deal to add a bit less than half an hour to an OoT run, I feel like the added content doesn't improve the run relative to the added time. AD feels more fast paced and interesting.
  29.
  30. And that's why I prefer All dungeons over MST. I don't really dislike MST as much as I sometimes seem to imply, its a good category too, I just think AD is better.
