  43. Valky decided to go back to being Valki this jump. Sunny gave no objection, nor did Leo. This time Valki and co were dropped off in the middle of a stony castle high in the clouds, much like last jump. The difference was that this land had a previous occupant. They found themselves quickly given company by a certain green haired goddess. After a short interrogation by Palutena about their purpose here and how they got there without her notice, she eventually relented and allowed them to stay or go. They opted to stay for a few days until they had their feet solidly on the ground as it were. It was during this time that Valki socialised with Palutena each day. He learned that even though she acted friendly and was surrounded by her angels, she felt quite lonely. This world had no Pit, so she didn't really have anyone to confide in and properly be herself. Feeling sorry for her, and knowing that it was mostly their fault for taking the drawback, Valki resolved to stay in contact with Palutena. He gave her a direct access to his telepathic frequency and told her to contact him whenever she wanted.
  44. Once they left, they travelled to where Valki knew was the location of his Domain. Surrounded by a perpetual thunderstorm on top of a mountain sat a plateau upon which was a small japanese-esque town. There were a few shrines dotted around, dedicated to the various members of their group. In the very middle sat a large tree that looks suspiciously like Yggdrasil from which lightning shot into the sky and into the clouds. At the base of the tree, hidden under the roots, sat a small spring. A quick check showed that it was the Rewind Spring. Whenever the tree started to droop, it's roots would dip into the spring for the briefest second and de-age the tree a day, keeping it perpetually young and healthy. Valki made sure to cordon off the area, not wanting any accidents from people who wanted to a dip to cool down, or other such incidents. Once they settled in, they started to make preparations for the inevitable war that was soon to happen. They planted various shelters across the surface of the planet to act as bunkers for civilians whenever a battle would occur.
  45. At the same time as they were doing that, in their free time they were hanging out with Palutena. She was granted access to their domain and vice versa. It wasn't uncommon to see Palutena with one of the group, just chatting together over tea or while walking through their cities. By the end of the first year together, they were already pretty close. It was during one of Palutena's visits that they received news that monsters were invading the human cities. With Palutena acting as the eyes in the skies, Valki's group split up to defend the various cities that were under attack. Pixie quickly dealt with a large fiery dog, while Birdy and Leo fought off a weird multi-headed dragon. Sunny rebuilt all the structures that were damaged by manipulating the earth itself.
  46. Once Medusa appeared to inform them that it was she who had returned to destroy the humans, they organised a hunt to defeat or neutralise her generals. Pixie, the overpowered side character that she was, was sent off to deal with Thanatos. Valki headed to where he knew Pandora to be hidden away, steadily churning out minions. It was almost child's play for Palutena and Sunny working together to find her hidden base. Valki headed off there carrying a vial of water. In exchange for the vial of water Valki wanted her to swear to stop helping with the extermination of mankind. While she initially scoffed at this deal, assuming it to be a joke, she quickly changed her mind when she learned the water was from the Rewind Spring. After a magically enforced oath, the water was splashed on her fiery form and within moments a blue haired amazonian woman was standing in front of Valki. She gave him a quick kiss, a flirtatious wink, and flitted off to god knows where (just not this particular god).
  47. With her generals dealt with, the group headed into the underworld to put a stop to Medusa. Given that even one of them was near a match for her currently, all of them together was more than enough to put her down properly. Palutena was just in the process of inviting them over to celebrate when Hades revealed himself as the puppeteer behind Medusa's resurrection.
  48. Valki set off immediately to find a specific volcano in the underworld, knowing in advance Hades's plan. Unfortunately the underworld forces were already there and causing a great racket. It wouldn't be long before the humans got word and came to investigate. Fortunately help came from the most unlikely source. A certain blue haired chaotic goddess appeared and cast an illusion over the place to make it seem like it was just another battlefield before leaving. As she left she gave Valki another wink and a parting comment of "now you owe me honey". Palutena was less than impressed by this, though soon focused on other more important stuff.
  49. Valki and co worked round the clock to combat the forces of the underworld but made little headway. Hades seemed to have an infinite supply of them, which he made sure to rub in their faces. Speaking of whom, Valki was finding it pretty hard to properly dislike Hades. His snarky comments held their own kind of charm. Inevitably it wasn't long before the war between angels and demons on earth gained the attention, and ire, of the nature goddesses Viridi. Contrary to canon though, her main hate was Hades from the get go. With the help of Sunny and Pixie the humans had actually started to repair the damage they had done to nature. Hades' invasion had undone most of the hard work they had put in. The humans retreated to the bunkers that were made while nature and the unnatural fought.
  50. With natures forces helping out, Valki's group were finally able to rest a little. It was then that Valki discovered that Pandora had been using his domain as a place to crash, lounging on a strange car couch. She gave a lazy wave to them and explained that to cash in on the favour she would be staying there for the foreseeable future. Apparently Hades had kicked her out of her place when she refused to fight and taken the Mirror of Truth with him. That little tidbit allowed the gods to finally understand how Hades was producing such an army. He didn't need to harvest vast quantities of souls since he could just keep duplicating his minions. They quickly passed on the information to Viridi and started searching for it's location.
  51. Before they could gather much intel however, they were confronted with an unfortunate threat that Valki had hoped would not appear. The Aurum. They came upon the earth like a swarm of locusts, ripping huge sections of earth from the ground to ferry back to their mothership. Sunny worked overtime to repair all the damage to the earth, focusing all her energy on the task. Similarly Pixie was running herself ragged trying to destroy all the invading ships. The situation was dire enough that the war was put on hold while the gods teamed up to defeat the threat. The Aurum where like the underworld forces yet so much worse. Even all working together they could not push out the invading forces. They would either need to bring out a game changing card or kill the Aurum Brain. Valki did have one possible game changing card, but was extremely hesitant to use it.
  52. They decided to mount an offensive against the Aurum mothership but unfortunately almost all the damage they dealt to it was repaired within seconds. At some point the Aurum had gained a slight red glow and an affinity for fiery attacks. Leo and Valki spearheaded an assault to reach the brain and managed to get all the way to the center. There they found Pyrrhon, who Valki recognised on sight, fused with the brain. It seems like he had been fused long enough that the Aurum brain had completely taken over. Seeing no other option, Valki and Leo had to destroy both the brain and Pyrrhon. Knowing that by themselves they lacked to power to guarantee that they would fully destroy it, Valki used his first trump card. Using most of his remaining power, he summoned Doomed Calamity from his kingdom with her seals unleashed. Valki and Leo immediately retreated back to earth and watched from the upper atmosphere as the Aurum ship decayed and turned to dust in front of their eyes as Calamity released her full power for the first time potentially ever. This is why Valki was reluctant to ever use her. Not only did she prefer not to use her power, it also didn't discriminate once used. It was the essentially the nuclear alternative. Thankfully when she returned to the kingdom, her seals would be restored and miasma contained.
  53. Palutena, who had a direct view of the battle, was suitably awed and terrified by the display of power. The other gods merely assumed it was a result of the Aurum Brain being destroyed. Pandora demanded answers when they returned, since as the Goddess of Calamity she faintly recognised the power used to kill the Aurum. Valki only explained that one of his trump cards involved releasing a lot of destructive energy, claiming it was the destructive power of lightning condensed and then amplified. When Pandora could be trusted more, then they would reveal the truth to her.
  54. Valki then started to prepare for the next threat in the story, before remembering it was the Chaos Kin which had not been released in this timeline as they had never fought Viridi's generals. Not wanting to take any chances, he went to the prison with Viridi's permission (who secretly questioned how he knew about it) and used his Flonyard sealing magic backed by his godly powered to triple lockdown the parasite. Even if the prison were to suffer extensive damage the Chaos Kin would not be able to escape. With that dealt with, Valki could focus on the war with the Underworld which had restarted in the wake of the Aurum's defeat. They still needed to deal with the Mirror that Hades had, so that was made priority one. Yet despite almost a year of fighting, they still could not find the mirror, nor defeat Hades.
  55. The tide finally turned, literally, when Valki managed to get a lucky break with the Gacha. He used most of his power again, but he managed to summon Lord Leviathan, a LR rank valkyrie whose mastery of water could allow her to flood the entire planet. Given how draining she was to have out, Valki immediately sent them to the underworld where she used her vast powers to flood the entire realm. The water would disappear eventually, but it had done significant damage to Hades's castles and put a massive dent in his army. Once exhausted of power Leviathan retreated to Valki's kingdom to set up residence in a lake that was formed near Yggdrasil, quite close to the hotsprings. They would later learn that the water had managed to wreck the secret cave where the mirror was kept and destroyed the mirror itself.
  56. With no other options, Hades came to fight on the frontlines himself, wearing his Devastation Ensemble. I would like to say it was a hardfought battle, but Valki's group was just so sick of the fighting that they used Hades as the target to let off all their pent up steam. With two LR's on the team, this meant that Hades never really got a chance to fight back.
  57. After that things settled down again. Pandora lazily ate crisps and played pranks on Valki, while Palutena came round to visit for chats. Viridi occasionally popped up to complain about some problem that was caused by some humans, but usually let them off with only a stern warning.
  58. It was with one year left in the Jump when Valki felt like he could explain his circumstances to Pandora and Palutena (whose had developed something of a rivalry). At the end, he asked if they would like to accompany him to future jumps, reassuring them that time would freeze in this dimension. He told them that there was no need to hurry with their answers since they had a year to decide. They both went away to consider, and within a week both had decided to come with him. With that decided, the group opened up even more to them and they found themselves almost permanent residents of Valki's domain. Valki even noticed that some of the NPC's in his kingdom had changed form into that of Angels.
  59. And so it was that the Jumper and his six companions moved onto the next Jump.
