- The night before now was something that she desperately needed as her family was getting to her. Nothing out of the ordinary but she just didn't want to take it anymore. So, she called her love when her family was all asleep and told him that she was coming over but what she really meant was that she was getting away from there. Li remembered when she was younger that her mom had always told her to strive for the things that made her happy and even if she doesn't remember her having the conversation, Li never did and because of that, she knew what she had to do. Laying down on her bed, she continued to talk to Del as if the world stopped and it was only them within. Either way, that was how she felt when she was with him; like she could do anything she set her mind upon. It's too bad in later circumstances, she loses her way. After she packed her things, she wrote a note that was to be left on her bed for when they woke up. But things never work out the way that you really want them too. As soon as opened the door, there was her father. Li could of made sure that she was quiet when she was on the phone but she guessed not.
- She didn't remember that her father was a light sleeper and in the room right next to her. His face was so stern and so angry-like at seeing the small suitcase she gripped in-between her small fingers. "You going to that boy's house?" Her head hung low not wanting to see his face with all that was about to unfold. Being the eldest daughter with three other siblings gnawing for attention was hard but she wasn't expecting what was going to happen next. When she didn't answer him, his hand smacked her across her cheek leaving a sting and a pink mark upon her face. Her eyes widened and because of the sting, she felt her eyes water. Why? When he was the one who told her to be happy with her life. Li couldn't understand this. "You were the one who told me to be happy, father. You may not remember it, but I will never forget it. And I am happy with hi-" Another slap to her face made the side of it red. It would fade in time, but this already torn relationship didn't have a chance in repairing itself anytime soon. "He is trouble! You don't know what you're getting yourself into!" Li didn't care, she was happy and nothing was going to change that.
- The whole house begun to wake at the sounds of her father and Li going at it. "I do and that is why I am leaving and not coming back. You guys are all so happy here that none of you saw how miserable I was! He was the only one! All you ever cared about were my grades and how they had to be the best. But that was it! I can't stay here like this. I want to live by my own terms and not by yours!" And just when her father was going to slap her again for her rudeness, Li did two things that she will always regret. One, she slapped him. Two, as she walked past him and stopped in front of the main door of their home, she yelled that she hated him in all of anger and distress before walking out. Upon reaching Del's place and seeing him in front of the door made her burst out into a small crying fit; her small suitcase falling and her arms wrapping around his tall frame while her face just moved into his chest and continued to cry.
- She talked to Delvin all night about everything, just to get it off of her chest and as always, he was always there where he needed her and was always there when she needed to rant about something. So while she was rant and getting everything all off of her chest, she cried. It wasn't until he told her to rest it off that she decided that she was going to bed and so as she did, she wrapped her arms around his warmth and went straight to sleep. Letting ti all go was something that she needed to do and for now, she didnt have to have such a heavy burden on her shoulder to carry her through her days.
