- >It was a dark and stormy night
- >The kind of nights you love
- >Feels great curling up in your bed while a tempest blows outside
- >Your fluffy pony, on the other hand, does not enjoy it
- >You can hear him all the way in his safe room, whimpering and crying quietly
- >Every time thunder booms, he lets out a yelp and sobs even more
- >He tries to act like a brave fluffy, but at his core, he’s still just a fluffy pony
- >So on stormy nights, he cries quietly, in hopes that you won’t hear him being scared
- >Lightning flashes across the sky
- >Thunder rumbles loudly
- >”WAAAAAAAA! hu hu huuuuuuuuuuu…”
- >Sigh
- >You’ve offered to let him spend these kinds of nights with you in your bed, but he refuses, saying he’s not scared
- >Note that he usually says that with tears running down his eyes, his body curled up into a ball under his blanket, shivering like crazy from fear.
- >Poor little guy
- >But tonight, you have an idea
- >You walk over to his safe room and softly open it.
- >Fluffy pony is yet again curled up in his bed, sobbing softly, his eyes shut as hard as they can be
- >It’s a testament to his astoundingly good bowel control that he’s never soiled his bed on nights like this
- >You notice he’s moved his bed closer to the night light.
- >Figures
- >Fluffy pony looks up at you, snot dribbling down his snout, his face wet with tears
- >”W-w-wha daddy wan’? Is stiww dawk time.”
- >”I was hoping you could spend the night in my room.”
- >Your fluffy pony sniffles, but shakes his head. “Fwuffy nu scawed…”
- >”I know you’re not. You’re such a brave little fluffy. But I’m scared of the loud noises. Maybe if you’re there, I won’t feel so scared.”
- >Fluffy pony looks confused. “Daddy…s-s-scawed?”
- >You nod, and try to look afraid. Convincing actor you are not, but it’s enough to convince your fluffy pony.
- >Fluffy pony slowly crawls out from under his blanket
- >”Den fwuffy keep daddy safe!”
- >His legs are still shaking as he drags his blanket into your room.
- >You pick him up and place him down on the bed.
- >You lay down, and your fluffy crawls up next to you, nuzzling into your chest.
- >You cover him with his blanket, and he smiles, finally calming down.
- >Then the thunder booms again
- >Fluffy pony yelps and hugs you as tightly as he can with his soft little fluffy legs.
- >”N-n-nu wet meany noises scawe daddy…fwuffy keep daddy safe!”
- >You notice he’s not shaking anymore
- >It’s easy to forget your fear when someone needs you to be strong.
- >You both sleep soundly as the rain continues to pour down.
