- Description: Smith entered Kathryn’s home through an unlocked window and tied her up. When she begged for mercy, saying “don’t you believe in god?”, he replied “I am god” before taking off her clothes. He then strangled her to death. He submerged her body in the bathtub to “make sure she was dead”, before wrapping it in bedding and placing it in the trunk of her car. He drove to the gas station and used her credit card to fill two 2-liter soda bottles with gasoline, which he used to set her body on fire.
