Sakurazaka will be participating in Kouhaku after two years. "We were able to participate right after we changed our name (in 2020), but to be honest at that time, it didn't feel like it was the result of our own efforts. That's why this year, it felt like what we have accomplished as Sakurazaka46 has been recognized, and we were able to secure an entry on our own"

Last year, their six years streak from the time of Keyakizaka came to a halt. "Of course I had feeling of frustation toward it. But I didn't want to convey my gloomy feeling to the fans, and took it in as a good experience and in a way I was relieved that I felt frustrated"

"I think that each member has their own feelings of frustration, but the mood of the group as a whole was not depressed. It was more like, "Aight, let's continue to give it our best!". We continue what we've been doing and faced what lies ahead of us with everything we got to find the charm and color of Sakurazaka46"

This year they performed in Paris, Malaysia, and the Philippines. At the end of last month, they held a successful first stadium concert in ZOZO Marine Stadium. "We were able to grab these opportunities and reach where we are thanks to the cheering of our our fans and the staff who always support us. This year, I especially felt that we had took a step forward"

This year eleven 3rd gen members joined the group, who already quickly stood out from various activities such as by joining senbatsu. "I'm really inspired by the 3rd gen members. I feel really motivated [by them]". On the other hand, 1st gen members Habu Mizuho and Kobayashi Yui have graduated or announced their graduation. "To be honest, I wish they could stay longer [in the group]... (laughs). I feel sad about it, after all"

Three years have passed since they established themselves as Sakurazaka46. After changing their name, they continued their activities while exploring the group's weapons and individuality. "Ever since the 2nd tour, we started to have an idea of what Sakurazaka46 might be like. That changed into confidence in the 3rd tour this year, or rather, it felt like we have all become united and gained confidence"

When asked about what Sakurazaka46's charm is, she said with a smile, "I hope that we could be a group that can look really well with a cool live shows or cool performances". The "real" figure they show in variety shows are also impactful. "We joke around regardless of seniority, but when it comes to performance it's like we flick on a switch, so I'd be happy if we could show that gap"

Kouhaku will be the stage that conclude their year of comeback. "I'd like to deliver a performance with such enthusiasm, not just for the sake of our fans who have been waiting for it, but also so that everyone who watched us could think, "This group sure is amazing!"!"
