- What are the Selection tools in Photoshop?¬¬¬
- The Selection tools (Rectangular Marquee Tool, Lasso Tool and Quick Selection Tool) are tools in Photoshop which allow you to select certain part of the image.
- What does each tool do?
- Each Selection tool works differently. The Rectangular Marquee Tool allows you to select a part of an image with a square, while Lasso Tool allows you to make a random shape to select until you reach the start point, and the Quick Selection Tool lets you select an enclosed area very quickly.
- Why do we use Selection tools in Photoshop?
- Once an area is selected, you can copy the selected area and paste it to another spot, or to duplicate a drawing or colour on the current photo. You can even use the selection tool to draw in a certain area without going out of bound, like you want to colour in a square but can’t remember the shape tool (for example) you could select a part of the image with Rectangular Marquee Tool, and then use the paint bucket in the selected area.
