apollo legend thought dump thing

This won't be long, just needed something longer than 140 characters.

If you don't know who Apollo Legend is, long story short, he has a popular YouTube channel focusing on speedrunning highlight/Top 10 videos. His channel is inspired by GRSmash, according to him. A lot of his videos were taken down due to him monetizing other runners videos without their consent.

My problem with Apollo Legend is he wants speedrunning to expand its horizons and look for more forms of content to get the gaming community aware of speedrunning, which I think is a great idea. He preaches that his videos and their popularity is "good for the community". The problem is, the dude posted like 5 different Top 10 Speedrunning Cringe Moments, Top 10 Chokes, Top 10 Rage Moments, etc. Maybe I'm dumb and I'm missing "the joke" but I don't see how a channel portraying the community as a bunch of cringy, autismo, raging nerds with all these click-bait titles is "good for the community".

Apparently there's been ~drama~ and a bunch of back and forth "he said she said", and I have to say, if Apollo Legend truly was interested in helping the community out with his channel, I feel like he wouldn't partake in the drama. Him getting involved and taking shots at people after this just makes it seem like he was only focused on himself.

That's my thought dump about this. Gonna go back to speedrunning now.
