  1. With access to Gale Wings and Swords Dance, Fletchinder was one of the most effective sweepers in the tier. Priority Roost gave it much needed longevity helping it deal with its weakness to Stealth Rocks. Priority Acrobatics was its main STAB attack and, in conjunction with Swords Dance, made it a deadly Pokemon vs every playstyle in the metagame. More specifically, Fletchinder also fit the definition of broken as stated by Smogon’s tiering policy. Fletchinder had two main sets; a no item Swords Dance Acrobatics set, which hit hard and was very difficult to stop or revenge kill after an SD and a bulkier Eviolite Swords Dance set, which gave up initial power in exchange for much improved bulk and the ability to tank hits from and set up on a good chunk of the metagame. After an SD, it was capable of sweeping through both offensive and bulkier teams with ease. Furthermore, a customisable 4th moveslot with options such as Flame Charge, Substitute, Will-O-Wisp and Taunt allowed it to deal with many of its traditional counters such as Rock-types and opposing setup sweepers. Similar to Haunter, it was also incredibly difficult to check and prepare for when teambuilding and any team with Fletchinder had a big advantage against any team without it. The metagame was heavily centralised to finding obscure Fletchinder checks. Overall, Swords Dance and priority Acrobatics were too much for the metagame and Fletchinder was banned.
