- Description: After seeing Robert and his stepdaughter Stephanie looking at a car for sale, the pair watched them meet the buyer from a distance. When Robert and Stephanie left, the pair followed them for 15 miles, attempting to run him off the road, causing him to crash into Atkins. Atkins then jumped out of the car with a revolver and demanded Stephanie’s wallet specifically. Perry tried to grab Atkins’ gun and, during the struggle, was shot. Atkins ran off with the wallet as Robert lay bleeding to death from a pierced jugular vein.
