  1. Finnis’ optics slowly opened as his battery filled to one hundred percent. Morning sun glinted off the snowpack outside as Finni stood adjusting his sweater. He glanced around the computer lab to see if anyone was in the library yet. Still alone, he unplugged himself and put his cable away. Closing his neck port he leaned over a dark computer screen, fixing his hair into place with his slender aluminum fingers.
  2. He sighed, Mapping out his daily chores mentality. There would be dusting, checking the book drop off box, filling the pool chemicals, checking outside trash, vacuuming the halls, mopping the tile floors .. and that was just the list before noon! Cleaning used to be his greatest joy! But now it seemed more of a second best. He had gone to Botler school and had a genuine love for service and making humans happy...but completing and pursuing his own endeavors brought him….it made him feel…. He wasn't sure what words he would use to describe it….but he knew it was on the whole, positive.
  3. Speaking of warm and fuzzy feelings, Freyda would arrive any moment. She was one of the part time librarians, younger than most in her early twenties, unlike others in town her hair was red, a bright shining orange kept in a loose comfortable ponytail. Her eyes were green, complex interwoven layers of emerald and topaz. Freckles kissed her cheeks and shoulders. She wore a vintage patterned sweater, a conscious minded young woman, making good use of her hard earned króna, she shopped mostly at second hand stores, preferring to be comfortable and warm rather than fashionable.
  4. Like clockwork, Freyda arrived bright and early, her steaming coffee was set on the librarian's desk, black with light sugar, always the freshest and best quality coffee she could get, as she rented the second floor above the cafe in the old town.
  5. Setting down her backpack, she stretched with a cute yawn. “Mmmahhhh~ Good Morning Finni!” she called out into the computer lab. “Ah...Hello Freyda! G-Good Morning!” Finni walked swiftly and stumbled his way towards Freydas' desk, catching himself on the edge with his hands. “Pffffft hahaha, what was that? You ok?” Freyda extended her hand to Finni, he grabbed it and stood up. “Ooooh I'm fine! Yes,- Thank you!” He straightened himself, still holding onto her hand, a little longer then he should have. Freyda smiled “Silly robot haha~” she slowly released her grip from finnis hand. Finnis cheeks flared up from the name calling and implication he had been holding hands for too long. “Oh..I...um.. I need to get to work!” Finni did a bow of his head and hurried down the hall to begin his daily chores.
  6. After a long day of labor, Finni walked down the dark hallways like he had so many nights before, each turn like a melancholic routine towards accepting the end of the day. Rounding the corner, he found that a small lamp in the library was still on, a single solitary light source. He approached the desk and found that Freyda had stayed late, and was reading her book. “F...Freyda?” She jumped a bit before turning swiftly to face him. “Oh!! Finni Hello!!!” She closed her book with the attached ribbon and stood up. “Are you done with your work?” Finni nodded, “Yes...It took longer than usual...Why are you here so late..?” Freyda smiled, “Let me show you, come on!” she led Finni and waved for him to follow. They walked into the computer lab where Finni usually slept, there on the ground was a simple olive drab pillow and matching blanket. Finnis eyes light up, “Wow! Is this for….me?” Freyda nodded with a wide smile. “I wanted you to be warm!” Truth be told, it was just an old emergency blanket from the basement she had found for him. Finnis' emotions swelled, this was such a nice gift from his friend, after so many hard days and lonely cold nights, this would make everything a little more bearable. “Freyda...I..T-Thank you!” Finni managed to peep out, as Fredya wrapped her arms around him for a hug. Freyda laughed as Finnis' arms wrapped around her, “I'm glad you like it so much!...Silly Robot…”
  7. While Finni charged that night he rested his head on his own pillow and stayed warm under the scratchy green blanket as the snow fell outside, he would have to do something nice for Freyda sooner or later, all these fuzzy feelings of her made him forget about chess and his worries for the tournament, at least for now.
