∘ since he's a bit cocky and full of himself, he was trying to bend in public without getting caught -- because yknow he thinks he's all that -- but it obviously didn't work. naho was walking by, just minding her own business, when she felt a whoosh of air pass by her, and noticed the cute boy standing a few feet away with his hands outstretched as if he had been bending. she was a bit confused, but walked up to him and asked if he was an airbender, and if so why he did that, and he tried to feign innocence by saying he was a non bender, and if he could bend, it would be with fire. naho knew he was lying, but agreed and walked away, but not before earthbending the little section of ground he was standing on all the way up so he hit his head on the sign hanging above him.

background:
∘ naho grew up with a relatively normal childhood, despite being a bender. when she was very little, her mother divorced her father and remarried another man (a nonbender who already had a child) who she considers closer than the one who shares her blood. despite not being blood related, her family was extremely tight knit and still is. from a young age, her mother taught her the proper ways of bending, and always told her to keep her skills hidden and not to show off; the biggest thing she heard her whole life was that her bending was a gift that was not meant to be abused. during her schooling years, she often had many friends because of her outgoing personality, and her brother could be seen sticking to her side like glue everywhere she went.
