Story/Character Idea

Man dies at the hand of a vampire, his beloved slowly killed in front of him as he dies. Ends up in hell where he makes a deal with a devil in which he assumes a form mimicking the devil's own form. Comes back from the dead to get vengeance only to find 1000 years have passed and the vampire has taken countless more lives and has an army of vampiric minions. He fights his way through the minions, taking on some of the vampire's most fearsome generals and lieutenants as he masters his newly acquired powers. By the time he gets to the vampire he's mastered his demonic monster-slaying powers and is fully primed and ready to kill the vampire. As he enters the castle he finds that the vampire has impaled various body parts on stakes, making them resemble macabre and gory scarecrows. He fights through some monsters and the vampire's most powerful minions. He gets to the vampire who's just sitting on his throne with an uninterested and emotionally dead expression. The vampire reveals that over the years he's grown so tired of killing "What's another corpse to the hundreds of thousands i've already killed?" and that he had been hoping the man would return so he could actually feel something again. Battle plays out between the man and the vampire, the vampire outmatching even the man's honed demonic physical capabilities. The man relies on logic, cunning, and strategy to eventually take down the vampire, taking potshots from a pair of revolvers he got from the devil as well as taking down the pillars around the room. The vampire catches on to his plans and tries to stop him, but the man tricks the vampire into destroying the last pillar, which causes the ceiling to collapse and sunlight to flood the room. The vampire dies in agony and in it's final breaths, curses the man. "You will never know rest or know death and you will never be with your beloved again! I curse you to spend your endless existence hunting down monsters like me even as they hunt you down!!" The vampire dies and so begins the adventures of Monster-hunting Demon Man.
