  2. The infernalist rolls Manipulation + Occult at difficulty of the victim's Highest Virtue rating resisted by a Willpower roll at the difficulty of the infernalist's Manipulation + Occult rating.

  7. This is one of the most flexible powers in VTM, which allows the infernalist to levy any curse they desire upon their victims. Therefore in order to keep things balanced and trackable a dedicated system is required to prevent abuse of this power.

  9. Successes accumulated on this power must be split between Effect and Duration.
  10. *Effects can be picked up multiple times and must correspond to the purpose of the curse.

  12. Effects:
  13. 1 Success: +1 difficulty to Ability/Virtue/Willpower/Humanity | -1 dice from any Attribute/Ability/Virtue/Willpower/Humanity.
  14. 2 Successes: +1 difficulty to any Attribute

  19. * Special Effects: Special effects can be pretty much anything, though the exact cost may vary and depend on the storyteller.
  20. It could be anything negative such as: Making the victim exude an unholy aura, making the victim become haunted by demons, making a Vampire sterile, or preventing a vampire from using Blood Points to augment their physical Attributes.

  22. Example I: Samantha would like to wither her victim's body and lock them out of their full potential. She rolls Intelligence + Occult versus difficulty 7 and scores 5 successes, she grabs Special Effect twice (cost: 2 successes each) and puts the last success into Duration. Now her victim's Max Health Levels is locked on 5 instead of 7 for the following 3 nights.

  24. Example II: Samantha would like to render her victim sterile. She rolls Intelligence + Occult versus difficulty 7 and scores 4 successes, she grabs Special Effect (cost: 3 successes) and invests the last success into Duration. Now her victim's embraces shall horribly fail for the following 3 nights.

  26. Example III: Samantha would like to render her enemy slow and sloppy. She rolls Intelligence + Occult versus difficulty 7 and gets lucky and scores 7 successes, she invests 4 Successes into effect and 3 into duration, resulting in her victim facing +2 difficulty for all Dexterity rolls for the following month.
