Learning to Save a life instead of take one

[22:58] Having monster shuffled around the waterfalls and keeping Adremmelach pleased as he searched for ore, the Task would find it to be slim pickings. As he was making his way back, he would spot the glint in Lilith's eye, a thirst for battle. It was one that would make his heart go a flutter, as he felt the same thrill of seeking a challenge.

Revan would be the first to step forward, turning on their 'host' as he dug his knuckles deep into the Demon's back, funneling his mana to disrupt The Corruptor's circuitry. Though the demon would show it's might readily, slashing at Revan and cutting deep into him.

The very air around him was steeped in dark energy, sapping the very life out of the magi that dare oppose him. Lilith and Revan would take turns attempting to distracting him, but the monster was calculating, and unrelenting in it's assault once he laid those inky eyes on his quarry.

Revan would see his vision begin to blur as he took strike after strike, doing his best to return it in full force- but it was all for naught as he collapsed. The sound of battle would carry on in his ears as he tried his best to pull himself up.

No.. I can't leave.. Lilly.. On her own..

As he was finally able to pick himself up off the ground, it would be all too late. He would strike his fellow guildmate down and ready his blade for the finishing blow.

"LILLY, NO!"

He would scream at the top of his lung, his cyan aura growing as bright as a night star, sending mana surging through his body as he leapt in the way of the blow. His hand, finding it's way onto the Demon's blade and following it a ways before he redirected it in the dirt. Using the force the demon had created that would guide his arm, Revan would redirect it back into Adremmelach.

He wouldn't be sent flying back as Revan had done with the boar- no, even making the demon feel his own blow would only stagger him as he glared with void like hues.

"LILITH, LET'S RUN."

He would exclaim, taking her by the hand as they raced through the tunnels, though he would find her struggling to keep up, asking him to carry her. He wouldn't hesitate, throwing one arm over her shoulder and the other below her knees as he held her in his arms.

When they got a safe distance away he would look over her, "Lilly- are you okay?"

[23:19] As Lilith was thinking about fighting the giant Demon, thinking about whether or not Revan and her were a match for the thing. Still thinking, she would see Revan rush in attacking the demon. Surprised and still in thought it took her a while before she saw her friend get attacked by the Demon.

She didn't waste any time activating her runes to surround herself with poison. As Revan attacked the demon from the front with his energy attacks, Lilith was supporting him from the back, using poison to debilitate and slow down the Demon to give him breathing room.


Lilith tried to grab its attention. She used poisonous tornados and acid to make it turn and face her. But the demon was unrelenting, its sights was dead set on Revan and Lilith can do nothing to stop him.

As Revan took blow after blow, attack after attack, he finally collapsed after trying to deflect a fierce blow from the demon. With Revan on the ground, the abomination would then set its sight on Lilith. Contorting and twisting in order to heal the broken bones and bruised skin that it sustained, it finally started to charge at Lilith.

REVAN

Seeing Revan fall to the ground she would feel her rage burn inside her. The drakanite blood inside her starts to boil, her teeth start to contort to fangs and her fingers start turning into claws. But before she could embrace her dragon ancestry she would remember what Revan taught her when fighting.

"Stay calm, focus, and breathe slowly" Slowing down her heartrate and causing her drakanite features to recede into human ones.

Then, as she calms down, the thing that attacked Revan would charge at her. She planned to guide him away from Revan, moving through the corridors of the caves as a poisonous mist. But as soon as her mist form ran out, the demon would take the chance to slash at her side.

Her wound starts to fester, turning purple and skin around it rotting quickly. Her energy starts to drain, her vision blurs, only hearing Revan telling her to run.

"I... can't run... I need... you... to carry me" She says before closing her eyes due to the pain.

[23:42] As he picked her up in his arms, he would feel the blood gushing from her side, Occult taint staining his bandages and burning him just from the touch. He couldn't imagine what pain Lilith had to be enduring, but it would be up to him to ensure they made it back- it was a race against the clock.

Energy magic would be funneled to his legs, swelling them as he would run faster than he ever had in his life, exiting the cave and bobbing and weaving through the trees as he would make a mad dash for the Guild Hall.

Revan was not in a good way himself, deep lacerations all over, his bandages being cast to the wind as he sprinted, not caring who saw him in his current state. All he cared about was making sure Lilith would be fine.

Kicking in every door, he would find the guild hall empty- thankful he wouldn't be stopped to explain what happened, he could simply focus on the task at hand. Setting her in the bed, he would run to Fenes' chest and pull out a lax essence, running back to the hidden drakan's side, he would hold her head up and bring the vial to her lips.

"Lilly, I just need you to drink this, it'll make you feel better."

He would say softly, desperation in his voice as he would tilt it back for her when she was ready.

[23:50] As Lilith gets set on the bed she looks at Revan. Vision still blurry and her injury still incredibly painful, she looks at what Revan has in his hands.

"T-Thanks"

She reaches out towards the medicine that Revan is giving. Drinking it, she feels the pain get soothed, if only ever so slightly, and can see Revan's face clearly. Noticing the tears in his eyes she offers him a small smile.

"I-I'll be fine Revan... You... Don't have to cry"

Her face contorts into one of pain as she then closes her eyes once more, trying to bear with the wound yet again.

[00:07] His bandages were a mess, Adrenaline was the only thing keeping him standing- and the fact he was the only one standing there to actually save Lilith. Even when she was struggling, she would still give him that tender smile.

He wasn't even aware he was crying until she had said something, reaching up to touch his wet cheek. He wanted to shake his head, but he didn't have the luxury.

This is all my fault. I can't do this- I'm not even a doctor.

He didn't have the time for self doubt, he had to do something or he would lose the person who had given him so much, shown him what it was like to belong, to have friends, to feel.

Pulling himself together, he would inspect the laceration on her side, already beginning to decay. His mind would race with how to treat it.

Step two, sanitize and stop the spread of the infection.

But how was he supposed to do that? He didn't have any magic other than- And then it would hit him, the dark mana that was eating away at her flesh was still mana.. And raw mana was something he could manipulate.

Channeling all of the mana he had remaining in his hands, he would place them on her side, flushing out the occultic influence. It would burn, much more than the Demon's energy alone, but that would just mean the treatment was doing it's job. There would be a horrific squeal and sizzling as the purple that threatened to course through her veins would slowly turn blue. The worst of it surrounding itself around the cut.

He would quickly reach for the scalpel and begin to carefully cut away the infected flesh, tossing the dead chunks into a nearby bin. He would find himself amazed he was able to pull it off, though he was still only halfway through.

".. Okay Lilly.. We're over the worst of it.. Now I'm just going to close it up."

He would say somewhat more optimistically, now he actually believed her when she said everything would be okay.

[00:17] As Lilith closed her eyes to help focus on bearing with the pain, she would suddenly feel a burning sensation around her would. She screamed, feeling as if fire was flowing through her veins.

Although it only took a moment, the burning sensation felt like it lasted for hours. Gritting her teeth and clenching her fists she would fight through it, knowing that Revan was by her side and doing the best he can to help.

The runes on her skin would glow, and although she mostly used poison to hurt others she always thought of how it could help other. The runes would slowly and softly start to poison her body, numbing it to the pain of the cuts and the burn, using it as a sort of anesthetic.

The poison would help her relax, easing her pain and letting her look at Revans work.

"When... did you become a doctor?"

[00:45] Inspecting the cut, he would have to do some cauterizing to stop the bleeding. As Bo had instructed him, he would pinch the blade of the Scalpel and heat it up to a dull orange. Pressing pushing the hewn flesh together, he would pressed the flat of the blade into it until the bleeding would cease.

He would grab a wet cloth, wiping away the dried blood and debris. He would reach for a needle and suture, and would start to delicately stitch the cut close. He was thankful he literally just practiced his stitching today on himself.

It was then that he would see the runes glowing across her skin, pausing for a moment, worried he had set something off, he would find Lilith growing more cognizant, turning to look at his work, and even speaking to him.

"-Don't look." He'd say, it was a gruesome sight to say the least, and he wanted to spare her as much as possible. He was taken aback, did she really thing he was a doctor? Did this make him a professional medic? He would rack his brain for an answer, a weak smile coming across his grim visage.

".. Well.. A courier hasn't brought me my license yet.. So I'm not."

An attempt at a joke, though it was hard to really deny if he was or not based on how well things were going so far. Luckily, he knew just the depth to go, and would soon enough be pulling the suture that would bring her skin together. Putting an antibiotic cream over it, and holding some gauze, he would expertly bandage her up and finish the operation.

Relief would finally take ahold as the surgery was over, and he was confidant she would make a full recovery. Though regret for putting them in that situation would quickly take over, especially as his adrenaline took over and his injuries became more prominent.

Though he would take her hand in both of his, bowing to rest his head on the bed beside her. "Lilly.. I am..So sorry.. I was supposed to protect you... I told everyone I wouldn't let you get hurt.. And I failed.. I failed so miserably." Tears would begin to fall down his face once again, he thought he had run dry years ago. But with the death of his sister Rinn, and now Lilith being nearly mortally wounded because of his recklessness.

[00:53] Despite Revans wishes for Lilith to not look, she looks anyways. Examining the graceful stitching and the strategic cuts he made to her body. Her heart was still racing from the adrenaline of fighting the demon.

Yet Revans attempts at making a joke and him grasping her hand would calm her down. As her breathing slows she looks at Revans face and seeing him crying, this time letting the tears flow freely. Revan would then talk about his failure to Lilith. She would then use her free hand to grasp at Revans bandaged face to look at him in the eye, before smiling.

"Look, you did it... You still saved me... Hold your head up high"

After which she would pull Revans head to her chest. Rubbing and patting him as he cries.

"I'm proud of how far you came"
