Greg was silent for several seconds. His eyes showed shock... then defeat, as he lowered his head. "I... I know..." He sighed. "I know I don't deserve forgiveness, I know..." He was holding back a tear. "She'll never forgive me, but... but I wasn't in my right mind. I had lost Kyn, I'd lost Aska, lost everyone..."

"I know, Aska..." he was on the verge of tears. "I'm trying to be better, but... but I don't know if I can ever be forgiven. If you want to kill me... just take me around the back, okay? Don't make her see it."

At that, Greg's demeanor shifted then, both from the second chance (which he had to hug the Dream Mage for) and the revelation of the topics of the conversation. Unusual for him, he was not in favor of Kynthia's position at all here.

"She doesn't have a right to act the way she is now," he said to Kairi and Audrey. "Azumi went through Fairport, a nightmarish world. She was there for four months before a few others and I could get her out. When I was trying to help her, she was taken away for an unknown amount of time with the woman they're talking about who may have assaulted her in more ways than we'd like to think of, and has very few to turn to for aid. Kyn escaped and has me, my family. This was all not long between each other."

His mouth turned to a frown, just short of a scowl. "Even if I do love her, there's basic facts at play here. Prior to that woman they talk of, there wasn't much trouble as far as I can see on her end aside from having to deal with Urd here for a while. Yes, that was traumatic with that woman. But after that, I was the one who needed to be talked to, and we worked things out together. Then [i]I[/i] was taken away by Ron Rivers' reincarnation named Cain Flueves and a rather unintelligent, evil version of the hydromancer Will Tarin who goes by the name of Styx. [i]I[/i] was tortured, and she and Naito -- our son, long story -- freed me and we went on a date with Naito, his girlfriend Jasmine, Isaac, and Cheryl Mason. Kalas was there too. Then we split up a little longer and I meet her here. I don't know about you, but I don't see how that's so bad and merits her to yell at the obviously psychologically damaged soldier for those reasons. Not defending herself is different from assaulting someone else. Just because I love her doesn't mean she's right."
