Crawling about in the dark lie the untold things that any sane man would deny to the last, things unmeant to be seen by you or I, nor any unaccustomed to the way the world truly is. The unlucky few who glimpse the great and terrible meanings behind the grisly facade of the day-to-day spend the rest of their lives huddled together for fear those terrible secrets come to light. Now, hardly a night arrives that I don't curse the moon and the stars, knowing what lies in the great beyond. Blessed are the unaware, blissfully ignorant of what is and what is not.

We do not - we cannot - comprehend the truths of the universe; the terrific obsolescence of everything that ever was or will be would be is a thing too terrible to behold for the common man.
