- Man, where to begin
- Jan 2nd - Jan 11th was easily one of the best days of my life. As somebody who isn't the most social person, I wasn't expecting to have such an amazing time. This event in general was really big for me, as I got to meet so many people I've been dying to see for years, aswell as running on the big stage and doing a face reveal. I know I've said several times how bad my run was, and I apologize if I came off as really negative, but I'm just dumb and very picky. Really glad everybody enjoyed it <3.
- The crazy part out of all of this? My social battery barely died throughout the week. I really tried my best to do as much as I could, since it was very valuable time that I didn't want to put to waste. Whether it be going out to expensive ass restaurants, watching trolls in the hotel room (don't ask why), or practicing my relay star for way too long, it was such an amazing experience. Although getting a run into GDQ is such an honor, it wasn't even close to the best part of my trip. But rather, seeing so many people and building a bunch of new connections. I think after this, I'm going to try my absolute best to go to any future GDQs, regardless of if I get in again or not. Obviously I'm gonna keep submitting any games I'd be down to run, but if I get declined... oh well. That's not gonna be my deciding factor.
- Literally back in September, I had no desire to go to GDQ. It wasn't in my plans at all and I thought I'd have more things on my mind, but I decided it was time. I submitted my five games, waited for a month. Then the evening of November 3rd, I find out I got in, and realize what that means. At the moment, it didn't hit me, even though it's in all honesty a pretty big deal. Two months later, it still hasn't even though it already happened. I'm more than honored to be apart of it, and I can't thank the games committee enough for letting me represent JSR for the first time in nearly a decade!
- There are many people in particular who I want to thank for making this an unforgettable experience. The list would be semi-long so I won't make it, but if we spent a significant amount of time together throughout the week, you can probably guess you're one of those people ;). Hell, even if I saw you for like 5 minutes and never again, I appreciate you aswell!!
- I thought I'd have more to write, and there probably is but I can't think of anything atm. Just know that this was truly something special and I'm positive I'll make it to Minneapolis!! Until then, thank you all for spending time with me no matter how long it was, aswell as watching my run!
