Sherlock was always glad when he saw a good deal of bohemia men smoking and laughing. I asked him if he might grow some sort of affections. He mumbled, " I do not. "

" well, obviously they are quite unusual, " said Sherlock, as he was watching me narrowly.

" I am, " said Holmes. He was not surprised at me for saying so.
I turned to the window and found a woman stood beside a carriage. She was wearing a heavy brown overcoat with a wrinkled velvet collar. She looked very anxious and excited as she was heading towards the door. I stood up and opened the door before she could knock.
