- "Your Grammar Sucks"
- 2011-2020
- Today, we celebrate a legendary video series and say goodbye to it as well. I'm talking about Jacksfilms' "Your Grammar Sucks." The final episode went online earlier today. With consistent uploads spanning almost a decade, it was one of the first insanely funny YouTube series that had me excited every single time I saw a new video posted. I remember watching the YGS #15 Rap years ago just like it was yesterday. And as someone whose long-term memory seems to steadily deteriorate for no reason, the fact that I remember watching YGS #15 is pretty significant.
- Because of YGS, many laughs were had over the years. It was really fun while it lasted. I'll miss it.
- Anyway, this here is a little piano composition/improvisation based on "Help Me Clean Up YouTube," Jack Douglass's theme song for Your Grammar Sucks. It's a short and sweet little piece I threw together with some motifs and phrases borrowed from various sources. This is also the first time I've tried mixing two upright piano audio tracks together. I had to do some alternate miking and panning and effects shit to make it sound decent. Did it work out? Let me know in the comments.
