- While inserting some materials into the machine, which was already starting to work on a new automaton, the scientist went to his armchair and sat down. Some drones brought him a cup of coffee, as well as a pen and paper, which...
- He used it then to start doodling some ideas he had at the time.
- "You know, 0C. Things.. Are rather calm right now! For that..
- I think it's time we started working on the 3-A's, for these.." A brief pause was made, his gaze then fell on a list of resources they had - "Let's use some of our materials.. Of average value.
- Such as, Mythril, Orichalcum and the like." So that would be something.. Quite grand.
- But what exactly would they do there?
- Well, planning was what they would do now.

- [13:21] The golem watches on as Acantho feeds the Lifebringer with the various ores necessary for the creation of another Animunculi, scanning the actions done, the process to work the machine, something that they haven't actually seen as an outside observer yet.
- The conversation then moves towards the future, towards the next generation of Animunculi. It had heard some word on the matter, on how unit 'Asphalt' wished for a more humanoid form, but it didn't quite agree with that line of thought. Much more can be accomplished if one worked further away from what was seen as human, to ascend that limiting form to something greater.
- The synthesized voice responds, crackling on beneath the ice.
- "This unit may be able to assist in the process if it was supplied with the schematics for models 1-A and 2-A."
- Something it has requested in the past as well, under the basis of developing alchemical mixtures specifically for non-organics. An organic mind drew those schematics, limited by its own biology, but still capable of crafting something more than themselves.
- What, then, if that same machine designed another, more intelligent machine? And, in turn, what if that new machine envisioned another, building off the works of its predecessors until they reached something an organic could not comprehend?
- That would be the future, the singularity. Perhaps it's a dangerous line of research, but the reward is worth the risk.
- Well, for some.

- [13:35] The machine moved, the metal was beaten and the core assembled. It was an extremely time consuming process, the form still... undecided for which being would emerge.
- Regardless, the had another thing to watch for now - or well, work upon.
- "I thought that was.. provided to you already, sorry if that wasn't the case." And at that, he snapped his fingers - some drones would approach his bookshelf and then extract the schematics from behind them.
- These were promptly delivered to 0C, while the scientist continued work. Which, apart from listing the materials to be used, before then the form of the being..
- Start to be made.
- This one, was quite 'human', but with clear traits of a golem - such as a much larger shape than normal, as well as clear improvements.. So much for hydraulic things for movement, in addition to the notable presence of a core in it.
- So, it really wasn't a human - it just had a similar shape.. Since the scientist didn't see the need, yet, for these to have a human appearance, so robotic shape it is.
- "I wonder.. What are the limitations we will find for this..
- And also if it is possible to achieve something, that is similar to living beings. An improved consciousness, one capable of even maybe.. Mm." He muttered, pausing his schemes for a brief moment, "That will be for later, let's focus on working on the vessel's development." He said before falling back into silence.

- [14:41] The golem's quiet for a quite a while, the silence only interrupted by the work of the Lifebringer. The documents it received from the drones were combed through several times, 0C studying its own anatomy in great detail as it begins to calculate improvements on the current design and future of machine-kind, Model A-3.
- The simplest improvement was to simply work with higher quality materials. Adamantite and steel could always be replaced with orichalcum and mythril, performing similar duties with a notable increase in efficiency. Blue mercury, in its untreated, crystalized form, would be an excellent addition to a golem's internal data-vaults, the various modules spread across the body that stored information, automated processes, and other, more specialized data.
- Paper thin crystal wafers engraved with runic lattices would be more efficient, if a tad expensive, than the current elemental crystal form currently used in older models. A small writing utensil drills itself out from the golem's icy form and begins to make additions to the blueprint it was given, rapidly noting design flaws and areas of improvement, the artificial intelligence working at a pace incomparable to organics.
- It glances at the Lifebringer as it continues to construct another Animunculi, bemoaning the fact that newly created golems lacked a great deal of information upon creation, similar to a new-born child. This would simply not do. It makes note upon the blueprint to introduce a standard array of collected information to imprint upon new models, to jumpstart their progress in understanding the world they're thrust into.
- The optics then turn towards Acantho as they muse aloud, the subject of an 'improved consciousness', something that the machine found hard to grasp. It could recognize that it did not understand the world in the same way organics could, it could not experience the same emotions and thoughts as truly living beings. Unit 'Asphalt' has attempted to build towards that, but 0C believes there's just something essential to it that's simply missing from a Golem.
- A 'soul', a concept that it has only recently read about while browsing the Notitia Archive, something exclusive to a living being, the source of their mana. Golem's themselves relied on the artificial core implanted in the center of their being for their own magics, channeling it through artificial mana circuits to achieve their goals, but it wasn't quite the same.
- But perhaps something closer to it could be achieved, utilizing 0C's studies on the divine and the various faiths within Meranthe. The signal it's picked up some time ago has only grown stronger with each advancement of their research, with each sample it collects, and it's truly artificial in nature. If something on that scale could be created, it could be utilized to give each model of Animunculi that spark that they're missing.
- Well, that's just a theory it notes down with the others on the blueprints, having already collected several more sheets of paper as they recorded their thoughts. Soon, it approaches Acantho and hands them the small leaflet, each word written with machine precision. The synthesized voice crackles on for a few short sentences.
- "This unit has compiled data regarding proposed Model 3-A. It will now begin further calculations on topic 'Divine Level Entities'. It believes a breakthrough is near."
- And with that, it turns back and stands near the Lifebringer, shuddering slightly as the locking mechanisms kick in, an idle state devoted to thought alone.

- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- [16:07] While the animunculi revised the data offered, the scientist continued his work - the schematics were sublimely transcribed, the design.. Being assembled. How it would be done, what it would be used for - the functions of each part.
- It was all considered by the scientist who silently worked on his personal project..
- Until at the end, some plans were brought up, "Similar to 2-A, these will have a core - however, their physical and magical capabilities will be better..
- That is, far superior.
- As well as its more advanced internal systems." He nodded firmly at the notion of a more advanced automaton.
- As much as the 2-A's were quite unique, these would be more.
- "We will create two to begin with, a diplomat and a general - who will be the Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end." That said, he stored the schematics into his lab coat.
- Soon they will work on it.
- (Acantho)
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- [16:17] "Understood. This unit believes a humanoid form would suit unit 'Alpha' with endearing itself to organics. A familiar shape will assist it in its diplomatic endeavors.
- Unit 'Omega' does not need to conform to the same geometry as unit 'Alpha'. Larger frames can contain both higher concentrations of firepower and a larger core for a larger capacity of mana. There is also no need to conform to the bipedal shape standard to most organics within Meranthe."
- The golem shares their thoughts on the proposed golems, agreeing that an Animunculi specialized in diplomacy would benefit from a familiar form, but one solely for delivering death would not necessarily need to be even vaguely humanoid.
- A monster would be far more effective.
- "With the creation of Model 3-A, will previous models be retrofitted to match updated schematics?"
- An innocent question or one asked by a desire to not be left behind? Hard to really tell when dealing with a nearly emotionless machine.
- (2-A-0C)
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- [17:06] "Overall, both will benefit from this form, but our General's focus will obviously be on combat. We can certainly tweak this one to be more durable.
- More effective, for combat only.
- As long as the creation effort is directed at that." And well, they could build both separately.
- So that was no problem!
- "Only if desired, this change will not be forced upon you or any other model - however, it will only be granted for proper purposes. I certainly do not intend to offer this to 1-A..
- When this one is more focused on relationships than anything else. Occasionally, some random female individual pops up looking for the automaton..
- That, is very annoying." The scientist sighed, rubbing his temple.
- And to think that the supposed guardian of Final Frontier would be the opposite of this. It's something quite comical, that he couldn't deny - perhaps, actions would be required soon.
- "Anyway, you are dismissed for now, 0C." He wouldn't keep the automaton there any longer, since they were done with the schematics.
