Kay and Jay are back in black as the scum-fighting super-agents - regulators of all things alien on planet Earth. Their latest mission: to save the world from a total intergalactic disaster! When a renegade Kylothian monster disguised as a lingerie model threatens the survival of the human race, the boys of the MIB get the call to step up and get busy. With their headquarters under siege and time running out, Agents Kay and Jay enlist the help of Frank the Pug and a posse of hard-living worms to help them kick some seriously sexy alien butt!
In 1978, a race of aliens came to Earth and asked the MIB to help protect their greatest treasure which they call &quot;the Light&quot; which is a source of awesome power. But it&#39;s not in their mandate to do that so they tell them they can&#39;t and send them away. But in the present day, Serleeena an alien who wants the light comes to Earth because she suspects that the MIB did hide it. So she goes to MIB headquarters and takes it over. Zed tells J, that he has to get K who was the one who dealt with the aliens in 1978, to come back. But problem is that K&#39;s memory has been erased so when J tells him, he doesn&#39;t believe him but J eventually convinces him. So they head back so that he could be deneuralized but since Serleena took over the HQ where the deneuralizer is, they have to find another one. They eventually do and restore his memory but problem is K doesn&#39;t remember what happened to the light. But because of some clues K planted, they try to figure out what happened to the light.
This movie won&#39;t make you go &#39;wow&#39;. It won&#39;t be deep and philosophical.<br/><br/>But if you get a big bag of popcorn, sit down in your chair, and just enjoy a lighthearted romp through a slightly skewed reality, you just might enjoy it (horror of horrors!)<br/><br/>This is a enjoyable summer movie that you&#39;ll rent or buy when it comes out. People won&#39;t think better of you for having it, but they won&#39;t be adverse to watching it with you.
I loved this movie -- sure it was silly and improbable and had a lot of gratuitous violence.  But it&#39;s SUPPOSED to.  It has no pretentions, and is just as it&#39;s advertised -- a roaring good time.  It&#39;s hilariously funny, Will Smith has perfect comic timing, and the aliens are cool.  And great music.  Besides, it&#39;s worth it just to see Michael Jackson playing an alien.
There's something wrong with this picture, and the problem is there on Smith's face -- Smith looks distressingly I-was-an-Oscar-nominee bored. That goes double for Jones.
Men in Black II, like its predecessor <a href="/title/tt0119654/">Men in Black (1997)</a> (1997), is taken from a script that is based on a Malibu comic book series called The Men in Black by American writer Lowell Cunningham. It was followed by <a href="/title/tt1409024/">Men in Black 3 (2012)</a> (2012). <a href="/title/tt2283336/">Untitled Men in Black Spin-Off (2019)</a> has been announced, but no release date has been set. It doesn&#39;t. <a href="/title/tt0127385/">Men in Black: The Series (1997)</a> was made after the first film but before the sequel, and they are not meant to form a single, coherent continuity.
