Prince of Equestria - Blood Moon Summer, Part 1

>Twilight Sparkle’s saddlebags shifted as she walked, laden with books and notes as she traversed the hallways of the royal palace.
>She smiles and offers good mornings to guards as she passes, even greeting one or two by name.
>Celestia’s prized student is a common sight in these halls, especially these days.
>It’s been six years since her brother introduced her to Anon.
>It turns out, that incident brought her to the attention of Celestia herself, and despite nearly flubbing her test, she managed to succeed in getting chosen to be a student of the princess herself.
>She arrives at her destination, rolling her eyes as she shuffles dirty laundry out of her way as she walks in.
>The studies have kept her busy, especially after Shining Armor left for the Equestrian Military Academy three years ago.
>Now…if only Celestia’s other student could be as studious.
>She sighs and pokes the snoring lump under the covers with her hoof.
>”Come on, Anon. Wake up. You’re going to be late.”
“..n’dun wanna…”
>Six years ago, this sleepy lump of lazy and disinterest saved her life.
>Now…well, let’s just say you don’t care much for magical studies.
>Twilight shakes her head and trots over to a miniature fridge at the foot of your bed, poking her head in the doggie door installed on it.
>”Give me a hand, here?”
>Fenris whines.
>”Yes, I know it’s hot out during the summer. It’ll be real quick, promise.”
>The juvenile ice wolf just yawns and curls back up in his chilly haven.
>Twilight just rolls her eyes again.
>He’s as bad as his master…
>”I’ll bring you one of those treats you like tomorrow…”
>Well, that got his attention.
>As Twilight backs out of the door, Fenris emerges and stretches, flashing a toothy yawn.
>The wolf grimaces at the warmth in the room. Being an ice wolf, he didn’t care much for heat and was only seen during the summer moving between the fridge in here and the ice box in the kitchens where they kept his food.
>Twilight stands back a little as Fenris hops up onto the foot of your bed, sticking his head under the covers.
>Only a studious p0ny like Twilight Sparkle would read up on ice wolves, including learning their special abilities.
>Including their ability to breathe a blast of supercold air.
“AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!”
>Luckily for her, that is a fact that you seem to forget.
>You leap out of bed, shivering in the corner as Fenris hops down, shooting Twilight a look that speaks louder than words.
>”Yes, I know, I owe you one.”
>Fenris snorts and retreats back into his ice box.
>You just point a shivering, semi-frosted finger at Twilight, shuddering in your boxers.
“I SWEAR, YOU ARE A DEMON!”
>You are silenced as Twilight throws your shirt into your face with an annoyed grunt.
>”It’s bad enough you can’t be bothered to wake up on time for our lessons, but you can’t even be on time to go on vacation? Now hurry up and get dressed, your underwear is hardly suitable travel apparel.”
>You grunt and pull the shirt over your head as Twilight throws more clothes on the bed.
>”I swear, you wouldn’t even have packed for this if I didn’t make you.”
“Well gee Twilight, what makes you think I even want to go?”
>She blinks at you incredulously, averting her gaze as you pull on your shorts, giving her a decent view of your butt.
>”The princess finally lets you out of classes for a week long vacation, and you don’t want to go…I swear Anon, nobody could figure you out.”
>You dress lightly. Where you’re going, dressing in your full royal regalia would both draw too much attention and be unbearably hot.
“Easy for you to say. You’re staying here.”
>You can’t hide the annoyance in your voice.
>If Shining Armor were here, he’d go with you…make things bearable, at least.
>But no, he had to go off to the academy.
>And you’re here…same as you always were.
>”That’s because I enjoy my studies. Come on Anon, ever since my brother left, you’ve turned into a layabout. This will be good for you. Light a spark.”
“Twilight…don’t you think 14 is a little old to be going to a place like this?”
>Twilight’s horn flashes as the two of you teleport to the courtyard, giving you barely enough time to put on your circlet.
>”Just try to have fun Anon, jeez…”
>Celestia waits in the carriage, giving you an annoyed glance at your tardiness.
“…but I don’t want to go to a summer camp…”

>You glare out the window as the carriage starts circling to land.

>Celestia sighs and shakes her head as the carriage lands, a large red p0ny waiting.
>To be honest, she needs this as much as she thinks you do.
>A thousand years did dull her memory of what human males, and their tempers, could be at your age…
>The red p0ny approaches as the door slides open, you and your mother climbing out.
>You grunt and stare at the ground as you shoulder your bag.
>”AH, IS GOOD YOU ARRIVE. OPENING CEREMONY START SOON, I WAS AFRAID YOU MISS.”
>Celestia nods.
>”Our apologies Strelnikov, I’m sure you know how teenagers can be. Thank you again for taking him on such short notice…”
>Strelnikov nods.
>”OF COURSE, PRINCESS. STRELNIKOV IS GOOD AT MAKING MEN OF BOYS. YOU SEE.”
>Celestia nods and smiles as her horn glows, removing the circlet from your head.
“Hey…wait, what? What’s that for?”
>”No magic while you’re here. I’m just removing the temptation.”
>You growl and shoulder your bag, stomping off down the path.
“Whatever…”
>Celestia and Strelnikov share a concerned glance before he trots off after you.
>Celestia just steals one more glance as she watches you walk off before boarding the carriage.
>”He’s just like you were at that age…”
>She glances skyward as the carriage takes off.

>As you walk into the group, several p0nies stop what they are doing and look at you.
>You can tell which ones are from Canterlot, they’re the only one that look shocked to see you here. A few murmur between each other.

>You blink and turn at the familiar voice, as Cadence trots up and nuzzles into your chest with a smile. You return the affection with a hug for your cousin.
>Maybe this won’t suck QUITE as hard.
“Cousin Cadence? What are you doing in a dump like this?”
>”Oh, this? My parents send me here every summer. It’s a lot of fun!”
“I’ll bet.”
>Cadence frowns. “Anon…I miss Shining Armor too, but that’s no reason to be a grump.”
>You fold your arms and grunt. Like she could understand losing her best frie…
>Wait, what?
>What the hoof does she mean by that?
>Before you can ask, another voice cuts in.
>”Cadence? Cadence, where are you? I swear, this camp gets more dreadful every year…”
>You cock your head as the two of you are approached by a white unicorn with a rather…styled purple mane, three gems adorning her flank.
>She looks rather out of place, like she belongs in the lap of luxury as opposed to the dirt.
>She’s pretty easy on the eyes, to boot.
>Huh…wonder where that came from.
>CA:”Oh, Anon! You have to meet my friend! We’ve been going to this camp together since we were little fillies.”
>The unicorn stares at you, a mixture of curiosity and intrigue on her face.
>It makes you feel a little funny.
>Especially in the pants.
>R:”Charmed. My name is Rarity…and you are…”
>You clear your throat.
“Umm…my name’s Anon.”
>Rarity blinks and glances at Cadence, wide eyed.
>R:”You mean, he’s…”
>CA:”Yes.”
>R:”And he’s…”
>CA:”Certifiably.”
>Rarity stutters as she looks back up at you blushing a little.
>R:”My apologies, Anon, I just never met a…real…prince…before….”
>She titters as you look away, getting a little blush of your own.
“Uh…nice to meet you too…Rarity?”
>Rarity squeals and runs off.
>Cadence can’t contain her sides.
>CA:”Anon, if I didn’t know better, I’d say she likes you.”

>You drop your back and take stock of the situation.

>The moon hangs, silent in space.
>A dark power stirs as a mischievous grin appears.
