  1. [18:03] {NARRATION} It isn’t until the evening that the fleet arrives upon the shores of Esshar. They are close enough now for those upon the sandy coast to make out individuals upon the decks- yet nothing draws attention quite as much as the hulking golem stood upon the deck of the metal-clad ship.
  2.
  3. The runes upon its body ignite into a brilliant swirling combination of gold and indigo, and the golem stands from its hunched position. Steam expels from its joints as its head spins, visages of terror staring out towards the magi gathered upon the shore. A series of bright gold and purple flashes from the runes upon its body as it crouches, and then subsequently launches itself from the deck of the metal-clad to the sandy shore.
  4.
  5. Landing with a crash, sand is sent racing out in a wave of pressure, momentarily obscuring the mechanation’s form. Several long seconds pass before the cloak of silicate falls back to the ground, revealing to the gathered Defenders of Esshar a crater of sand-turning-glass from intense heat, in the center of which stands the golem.
  6. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  7.
  8. [18:10] What else was he expecting when it came to Barsburg? Actual soldiers? No, never, they always hid within their golems and machinations to escape possible slaughter…
  9.
  10. Narrowing his gaze towards the distant hulking golem-- Wait, where'd--
  11.
  12. CRASH!
  13.
  14. A haze of sand is sent out as it lands before them, but the Rhoynish is all too keen on standing his ground. Scrunching his nose up he'd let the sands grab a firm hold of his feet, keeping him in place as the literal sandstorm came to a slow close... The distant heat met with a wild grin of his own.
  15.
  16. "Well! Hope you all brought your dancing shoes because the lovely lady came to dance!" Bay cackled on out, withdrawing the six-shooter and staff from their holders. One is held in each hand as he remains standing tall.
  17.
  18. Aiming the already flaming barrel of his revolver towards the hulking creation the sand about him began to shift. "You'll make one fine, fine statue when I'm done with you..."
  19.
  20. Radiating the heat of the relentless desert he'd flick his gaze towards Kit and Revan for a moment. A slow nod is given towards them. Whilst it shouldn't need to be said he'd reiterate a phrase he held close to his heart.
  21.
  22. "No fear. Let's sift through this thing's rubble when it's broken to pieces."
  23. (Bay)
  24. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  25.
  26. [18:12] Kitiara stood around with the rest of the valiant warriors that would be defending against the scourge that is Barsburg. In the middle of a conversation, gasps and even a shriek from the back of the group from a child - which was for some reason here.
  27.
  28. Slowly turning her attention to the Barsburg vessel which carried a massive Golem.. Kit stood in silence, watching as its runes began to glow. Then it prepelled itself into the air, and onto the shore. Sand exploded into the air and a shockwave errupted in all directions around the golem.
  29.
  30. Tick tock tick tock.
  31.
  32. The sound of a clock went off in her head as the sand dissipated. The insufferable seconds passed, and.. There it was. Fixing her gaze onto the hulking golem.
  33.
  34. "Ohh.. shiiitt.."
  35.
  36. Striking up her flame aura, the sand around Kit began to turn to glass as the heat intensified. This battle was going to be a pain in the ass.
  37.
  38. Slinging the carbine over her shoulder, Kit would ready herself for what was to come, looking to Bay with a smile. She'd wait for the order to charge. No fear.
  39.
  40. "Let's kick some Burger Buns!" she'd shout, hoisting her rifle into the air, shouting warcries like a beast.
  41. (Kitiara Mari)
  42. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  43.
  44. [18:13] "Another golem.."
  45.
  46. Orca's face twisted when she spotted the hulking metal beast in the distance, twisting at the memories brought forth seeing yet another golem. 'Would this one leave a mark on her as well?' she thought, glancing at the scar of a chain running through her arm.
  47.
  48. A grimace on her face now, eyes hastily wandering around to make out the faces of her fellow magi. Misha, Sanna, Scarlett. Her future son in law too. Yet again, they stand together against Barsburg. And she is only here to stand with them. To protect them from the threat they themselves decided to face.
  49.
  50. Her head turned towards Scarlett beside her for a brief moment.
  51.
  52. "I think you're the only one that I can't protect, heh. Please be careful."
  53.
  54. The dark expression had reappeared. Occultists standing for Esshar. Strange, isn't it? The rune on her blade protruding, bulging at the dark mana pumped through the blade. The grass under her steps withering from the Occult presence. And now, she had to dwell.
  55.
  56. She didn't know how deep. How deep she had to tap into painful memories. But this beast was twice the size of what scarred her a year ago. And so she began with a single tear.
  57. (Orca Hellaxis)
  58. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  59. [18:15] Hearing of the impending attack, Revan couldn't help but lend his might towards repelling Barsburg from taking the sands of Ilsburg. His own homeland had been facing the leer of the imperialistic kingdom, and the eldest son of Dun could not let them get a hold in Esshar.
  60.
  61. The march to the south would be enough to keep his bandaged muscles limber, expecting to have to launch himself into a mass of troops to fend off, his golden gaze would instead rest on the glowing golem as it stood on the ship.
  62.
  63. "Ah, they brought a worthy opponent! I'm sorry Bay, but I'm going to rip the core from this thing before you finish your little statue."
  64.
  65. And excited grin would stretch across the newly appointed Fire blooded's face, his mana raged and surged around him as he wished to put his strength against another of Barsburg's creations.
  66.
  67. I was made for this one. I saw how dad parried the Meteorite Golem- you can do it to. Prove you can do it.
  68.
  69. He would risk life and limb, charging straight into the fray with enhanced speed, he intended to not only repel their invaders, but find enlightenment in a warzone.
  70. (Revan Task)
  71. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  72.
  73. [18:21] {NARRATION} Once more, the runes flash that beautiful meld of golden-purple as its arms are levelled towards those magi gathered. Light coalesces in the palms of its hands- and then twin beams, one of cosmic radiance, the other super-charged flames- are sent flying forth into the crowd before it.
  74.
  75. The battle commences.
  76.
  77. (( I strongly suggest joining /team 1 so that you don’t down [and aren’t downed by] your allies! The battle will commence once this round of RPs has finished. ))
  78. [18:22] Misha says, "Love you Makenna."
  79. [18:23] Misha downs the potion.
  80. (Misha)
  81. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  82. (I drank a rage potion here)
  83. [18:23] Hades Task asks, "Brother?"
  84. [18:23] Hades Task says, "That was the wrong potio-"
  85. [18:24] Orca facepalms at her son in law getting the potions mixed up.
  86. (Orca Hellaxis)
  87. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  88.
  89. [18:24] Revan Task says, "DEATH OR GLORY"
  90. [18:24] Hades Task exclaims, "REVAN?!"
  91. [18:32] {NARRATION} As the battle draws on, the large metal plates armouring the mechanation’s body begin to dent, brilliant runes begin to crack, and even one of the faces upon its head is torn from its form.
  92.
  93. Yet this seems only to provoke the golem further. What runes remain spark with defiant light, the battlefield cloaked in a sheen of purplish-gold, the golem itself near-blinding to look towards for a few brief seconds.
  94.
  95. The light dims somewhat after those moments, but not to what it was afore- the golem is now covered in a sheet of rampant cosmic and plasmic energies and is visibly damaging itself. Unfortunately for the Defenders of Esshar, it is no less determined to carry out their execution.
  96.
  97. [18:38] With the golem's immediate reaction to fight the Rhoynish is off to the races! It's the desert, of course, that brings him so much more momentum as the sand rises under his feet. Riding upon rising waves he'd do what he did best!
  98.
  99. Barrage and slow the machine from afar.
  100.
  101. Grains of sand constantly climb up the machination in an attempt to slow it down. Yet, of course, the runes flare and give it energy to break free of his grasp. With a click of his tongue he'd bark on out, "Come on now! Don't you want to fight your own battles, you fucking COWARDS!?"
  102.
  103. Shots from his six-shooter ring out into the desert air; Molten sand raining down upon the golem as he continued his assault. There's a pause, of course, as the order's given.
  104.
  105. … All of them? Alright!
  106.
  107. With a slight chuckle he'd prepare the next heated assault. "Kit, help me mess this fucker's gears up!" Bay called on out, darting his attention towards Revan soon after. "... Keep punching. You're doing good."
  108.
  109. What else could he say to a crazed pugilist? Really!
  110. (Bay)
  111. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  112.
  113.
  114. [18:45] Rushing across the sands, the bandaged Task would quickly find that his path would not be as direct to his quarry. strafing to avoid the plasmic fires, Revan would find himself pinned between cosmic light and primordial fire.
  115.
  116. Nowhere to go, he would call back to the technique his father taught him. Letting all the mana in his muscles go slack, he would dip into a wide and lowered stand. A deep breath would relax his spirit, admist the chaos of the war zone. This is where men where made, Suddnely as the heat of the crossing beams seemingly came down onto him, his fist would be snapped forward. In an instant all of his energy would rush into his muscles and release a wave of mana that would coat the space infront of him.
  117.
  118. Purple and golden would find a glowing azure repel it, redirecting it with a swat of his hand as it's own blast was thrown back into it's face. Though even with the combined efforts of all the magi present, it seemed it was about to go supernova- but would only pursue them.
  119.
  120. "Oh- It's going to try taking us down with it."
  121.
  122. Let us see which fire burns brighter.
  123. (Revan Task)
  124. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  125. [18:52] Kitiara Mari says, "Got my ass beat, but did better than Revan."
  126. [18:52] Kitiara Mari says, "Feels good."
  127. [18:53] Revan was foaming at the mouth with bloodlust and the glory of battle.
  128. (Revan Task)
  129. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  130.
  131. [18:54] Hades Task says, "...."
  132. [18:54] Kitiara Mari says, "Go get em' Revan."
  133. [18:54] Bay says, "Nice, good job-... Rev, breathe."
  134. [18:55] {NARRATION} This second iteration of the battle is far deadlier than the first- powerful energies emitted from the golem at levels dangerous to even itself. Yet, eventually, a particularly dear strike of lightning goes through its chest.
  135.
  136. The golem hunches over, runes falling dim. Its arms lay limp at its side, its head still- the majority of its form slagged from the excessive heat and broken beyond repair from the numerous magi who had assaulted it.
  137.
  138. They have won- they had defeated this monstrosity of Barsburg- and had even managed to secure its body. To think of all that could be learned from it…
  139.
  140.
  141.
  142. It begins to tremble. The darkened runes alight once more, flaring with power. The trembling becomes worse- the entire body of the once-great mechanation shaking, emitting cacophonous clanging sounds. This continues for a few moments- and with each moment, all present could feel a pressure in the air as power is seemingly built and gathered within the golem’s body.
  143.
  144. Light begins streaming from the cracks in its chest, and there can be no doubt now- it is going to explode. There are precious few seconds for all present to shield themselves from the blast.
  145.
  146.
  147. [19:03] Well, he'd absolutely shot a few big ol' balls of sand into their gears! Even from afar he knew a number of his shots made their marks. Grinning from ear to ear the Rhoynish cackled away. Now they just had to--
  148.
  149. Wait, why the fuck was it trembling?
  150.
  151. As the runes darken and the golem's body begins to crack with light he'd clench his jaw. Fuck. Letting our a low groan he'd sweep a line in the sand with his staff's foci - The fine granules before him already beginning their rise.
  152.
  153. It's a two step process, truthfully.
  154.
  155. Around Kitiara, himself, and possibly even Revan lest he do something stupid the sand began to rise. It's a makeshift shield to protect the trio should they allow it.
  156.
  157. Yet his weapon twirls, and soon enough the ground beneath the golem began to rumble. Bay was in the desert as a damned sand magi. If anyone could really assist in launching this living bomb back at the ships it was him.
  158.
  159. In one swift sweep of his staff he'd try to launch it with as much sand as he could towards the Barsburgian ships.
  160.
  161. "BACK TO YOUR FUCKING COWARDLY CREATORS!"
  162. (Bay)
  163.
  164. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  165.
  166. [19:10] The parry needed a riposte, the blasts was repelled, but as the Fireblooded Brawler made it within range to strike out, the golem was glowing and flashing with fire and purple flames. Energy would be channeled around his form, hardening his skin to make it tougher than steel and he would fight at it point blank.
  167.
  168. Knuckles dug into the metal ankles, making food holds for him to rise up the creature. Even using his mana-sense, he would find himself blinded by the output of power coming from the machination. An ill placed punch would cause an outburst to send him flying from the slowly detonating golem.
  169.
  170. Is that it? All that takes out the eldest son of Dun Task?
  171.
  172. He claimed the golem as a worthy opponent, but was he too much? Was this where Hades would witness his brother become a husk lost in the dirt? Would Lilly have to be given the news that Revan ran off to war and wasn't strong enough to claw his way back?
  173.
  174. Fingers had dug into the soil, the seeds kept on Revan would blossom and grow, leeching the life of that around him to stoke that azure flame that pulsed around him.
  175.
  176. No.
  177.
  178. Finding the will, to stand, Revan would find himself at a poor position to run from the incoming detonation. A bloodied smile would stretch across his face as his broken body stumbled to take the same defensive stance.
  179.
  180. "Baptized by battle.. Forged by Garljing's fire.. I will shine."
  181. (Revan Task)
  182. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  183.
  184. [19:12] {NARRATION} The efforts to send the golem back to its makers succeed- the defeated colossus flying backwards over the cliffs.
  185.
  186. Unfortunately, the magi present upon the metal-clad take exemption to this.
  187.
  188. A veritable wall of magic arises atop the deck of the ship, and is sent forwards the soaring mechanation- impacting it in the air.
  189.
  190. There is a blinding flash, a resounding crack, and air rushing outwards as gathered magic explodes outwards- the blast so powerful to cause damage even at that distance.. Those present would be temporarily blinded and deafened from the sheer power exhibited in the explosion, and whence the light had faded, and returned to their eyes, all they would see is the parts of the former Starcrusher falling into the ocean..
  191.
  192. In the distance, over the cliff and to the ocean, the fleet that had born the colossus thus appears to be retreating, even despite carrying sufficient force to continue the assault. Perhaps they are afeared of the combined might of Esshar- even a portion of it.
  193.
  194. Victory is theirs.
  195. (( Line up in-front of the green flag if you weren’t downed. Line up in-front of the yellow flag if you were downed once. Line up in-front of the red flag if you were downed twice. Once you have been injured [yellow or red line] move to the green line.
  196.
  197. Injuries will be inflicted first, then rewards will be given out. Don’t roll anything until a DM asks you to. Your roll will be discounted if you pre-roll. ))
  198. [19:13] {NARRATION} Line up properly or im perming all of you
  199. [19:15] ** Starcrusher Mk. II has inflicted an injury upon Revan Task. ("Seared Flesh", "Your flesh has been seared by the super-hot heat exuded by the Starcrusher Mk. II. It won’t take long to heal, nor will it scar, but it’ll hurt in the meanwhile.", "Temporary", "Duration: Short (1 day)") **
  200. [19:25] {Item} You picked up Nyeshk x2. Dropped by AvaDM.
  201.
  202. [19:34] Bending a fair bit of the desert to aid the machinations return was... Tiring to say the least. As it's sent flying on back towards the ship he'd grin from ear to ear. Any moment now and that thing would blow up in an ear-shatter ka---
  203.
  204. Light.
  205.
  206. Bay's too slow to cover his eyes as the wind whips past him. Letting out a sharp hiss of pain as he felt his hearing and sight fail him for a time he'd immediately press his hands to his eyes. They rub wildly, attempting to at least gain some form of sight whilst his ears recovered from the ringing.
  207.
  208. Yet when he can see there's a snarl forming on his expression. Typical, Barsburg retreated... Again.
  209.
  210. "Fucking cowards..." Bay murmured, spitting towards the sea with a huff. Even if they were merely testing their power he was still hoping for a bit more of a fight!
  211.
  212. … Well, a legion of those things could very well raze a fair portion of Esshar.
  213.
  214. A glance is shot towards Revan and Kitiara, eyes scanning them over for injuries for a moment before he spoke up once more. "When's Esshar mobilizing towards Barsburg again..? Figure it might be best to get rolling on that edge."
  215. (Bay)
  216. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  217.
  218. [19:42] Bandages would be singed from his body as all was laid bare from the battle with Barsburg's bot. Though the remaining red robes were remained draped across the nyeshk breast plates, though the skin beneath it would be singed.
  219.
  220. The pain is an experience.. A lesson.
  221.
  222. He had been pushed to the brink of death, yet his spirit burned brighter, consuming the mana around him that would act as kindling for his emblazoned soul.
  223.
  224. The Dragon Tooth founder could feel the rush of mana coming at the golem as it fell back, hitting it would create a blinding and deafening explosion. It reminded him of when he had moved infront of Saranta when Thryne had lost control of his magic in the Guild Hall.
  225.
  226. Taking a single step forward, Revan's mind was empty of any doubt, his body was broken and the only thing keeping him standing was simply his will, the power of his own ego to not fall in this moment.
  227.
  228. A deep breath, the smell of ozone and smoke filled his lung, it was a scent he wouldn't forget. Both palms would find themselves suddenly outstretched before him, a cyan shield of energy stretching out to protect the Task. Mana would be redirected and the flash would create a pocket in what the retreating ships would see.
  229.
  230. A signal, that Esshar was not to be trifled with.
  231.
  232. With all threats seemingly removed, Revan would simply fall back, laying in the sand as he would root himself, and let nature tend to his injuries.
  233. (Revan Task)
