My initial possible topic worksheet thesis was: "Is what Mao attempted to instill in China true communism as Marx would define it? Or did his ego he pervert it into something else to fulfill his own desires?" I have been working to further refine that into something along the lines of: "Not only is Maosim a corruption of Marx's view of Communism, but it is even a distorted version of the Leninist lens through which Mao interpreted Communism." I have more research to do before refining this, but I thought this context would help to understand the secondary source I chose.
