(At the Fortune Cup...
Announcer: Ladies and gentlemen, the most intense duel we've seen so far has roared to a close.
(Akiza is supporting her still-glowing Signed arm with her left hand as Sayer leads her through the arena door and out of sight. Yusei is brought by the medic as they brought Yusei in the medic bed.)
- Nurse, prep the O.R., Stat!
(Cortez runs up to the to Yusei to the hospital truck.)
Cortez (worried): Yusei!
(As Cortez stops by, Yusei hands Cortez two card.)
Yusei: Take these. (gives Cortez Stardust Dragon and Hyper Synchron)  You need this to summon Stardust Dragon. Akiza wants you, so you got to help her. Show her she has a gift and not a curse. Do what ever you can to get through to her.
(They wheeled Yusei in there and truck to take him to the hospital. Cortez looks at the damages caused by Akiza. All the chairs cracked and destroyed. Cortez knew only one thing. That is taking on the Black Rose.)
Announcer: Akiza has defeated the Shooting Star Yusei and emerged as the winner. Now She faces off against Cortez Blackful in the Fortune Cup finale!

(Cortez walks down a hallway toward a couple unsuspecting security guards in front of a door)
- Hey, hold it!
- The Director's not expecting you!
(Under the next line, Cortez, ignoring them, dodges under the first guard's punch and takes him down with some sort of terrific leaping kick, then punches the second, pulls him around to where he can slam him against the wall, hard. Within two seconds, both guards are incapacitated on the floor in the hallway.)
Cortez: Sorry, but he's got some explaining to do!!
(Cortez pushes open the double doors, and walks into the control tower.)

(Trudge rises from a respectful bow, addressing Goodwin, who glances irritably over his shoulder, holding a wine glass of orange liquid; over by the window, Jack appears to be in conversation with Mina.)
Trudge: Director? Look, sir, there's something I've gotta say.
Goodwin: Mmm?
Trudge: It's my official position that you need to stop this tournament.
Goodwin: I *thought* your official position was mall security.
(Trudge's face is reflected in Goodwin's glass; perhaps this allows Goodwin to read his face without dignifying him by actually turning his head to look at the person he's talking to.)
Trudge: Very funny. But I feel this tournament is *cursed* or something! *You* witnessed the damage of the last duel! Yusei got sent to the hospital because of the Black Rose! I'm concerned things are gonna get *worse*!
Goodwin: Officer! I don't pay you to be concerned.
Trudge: But sir--
Goodwin: I pay you to do what I say. And as for what you *think*, if I was going to pay someone to do some *thinking*, it most certainly would *not* be *you*. Langley, please escort Officer Trudge *out!*
Cortez: Is- Langley one a' the guys guarding the door?
(Jack, Trudge, and Goodwin all immediately look to their left, and see--)
Trudge: *Cortez!!*
Cortez: 'Cause he's, uh, he's napping.
(Cortez walks further into the room, right up to Trudge. A pair of guards start to approach Trudge)
Trudge: What're *you* doing up here, punk?!
Goodwin (stands): That's enough.
(Pause. Goodwin stands and turns; his tone is clipped and cool, but calm.)
Goodwin: How can I help you, Mr.Blackful?
Cortez: Before I say... weren't you gonna throw him out?
(Trudge grabs Cortez by the lapels, frustrated; Goodwin nods to the guards. Trudge makes a huge scene as the guards drag him away via an elevator)
Trudge: Gaaaaah! That's it, Goodwin! I'm gonna figure out what you're up to! You're going down!! You're gonna--
(The elevator doors close. Showdown. Yusei and Goodwin. Jack and Mina are now paying attention)
Cortez: Time to talk. You forced me and Yusei into this tournament. You threatened us, you locked up our friends and worse of all, Yusei is sent to the hospital because of me and you!
(Mina, unnoticed, appears surprised.)
Cortez: I wanna know the truth. I'm not gonna continue this tournament until you tell me why you've done this.
Jack: Huh! If you want to know, well here! It's 'cause of *this*. (he pulls off his glove to reveal the burned wing-Sign on his arm.) This mark.
Cortez: Huh! So that's why I had this weird feeling from Yusei.
Jack: He wants the Crimson Dragon's power, so he's been trying to gather everyone with its mark! He got me here by lying to me, and buttering me up, and manipulating me! The better question is!
(Jack walks up to Cortez and grabs him by the collar and lifts him up.)
Jack: Why did you come here?! Now because of you, I'll never settle the score with him! You somehow changed destiny and look what happened!
Cortez (growls): Get your hands off me Jack!
Goodwin: Jack! Put him down, now! Now calm yourself, you're making me sound so devious. Jack... you *wanted* to be the turbo-duel champion.
Jack: Yeah, but I wanted to *earn* that title. At this point... I'm starting to think that you've been *rigging* everything. I think, your little plan involves setting me up-- as bait for Yusei. But too bad, because of him! (drops Cortez softly) I'll never duel him!
(Cortez scowls)
Jack: Goodwin knew that Yusei would come after me if I did everything *exactly* as he asked me to. Isn't that right, Director?
Goodwin: Don't be ridiculous. I didn't even know about Yusei until you dueled him that night in the arena while Cortez watched.
Jack: D'you honestly expect me to believe that this is all some big *coincidence*?! You needed to verify that Yusei had a mark, so you needed him and I to duel, with passion, so you created a situation in which the stakes would be as high as possible! The big question is, why did Cortez come here?!!

(Akiza hears from behind to what is going on in Goodwin's office)
Jack (o.c.): And now Cortez is responsible for Akiza beating Yusei and sending him to the hospital! If it worn't for him, I be dueling Yusei by now!! You're responsible for my destiny that changed! Akiza would've lost if not for you!
Akiza: If not for him?
Goodwin (o.c.): I'm sure it was just meant to be this way Jack. Now Cortez, be sure you get ready for the duel.
Jack (o.c.): I want to see what happens in this duel! Either Akiza tare you to shreds! Or I will!

(Up in the stands, Luna's mark is glowing against her arm, on which the sleeve has been rolled up. The group is looking at it in awe)
Yanagi (sad): Poor Yusei
Leo (sobbing): Why did this have to happen to Yusei?!
Luna (sad): Yusei. I hope you get better)


(Outside in the parking lot as the sun sets, we can see two large carrier trucks, fancy, futuristic, and marked with a logo that reads A.M., surrounded by more faceless Arcadia goons spaced at regular intervals around them, standing guard.

(Inside one of these, Akiza is ensconced in something that resembles a virtua-pod; the metal thing is out of her hair, though the hair curls around itself where the inhibiting device is supposed to be. She's in a red undershirt, and shimmering light or liquid of some kind covers the pod from the chest down. She gazes serenely into space through a glass visor overhead. A holographic screen appears on the glass, startling her out of the reverie; it's Sayer.)
Sayer (via screen): Akiza, you did good to beat that Yusei.
Akiza: All I want is that Cortez. He's my reason I beat him.
Sayer (via screen): Well now you can have him. After you're done having fun with your little *chew* toy, focus on putting Jack down for the count, after that, we show everyone about the movement.
Akiza: I will. Although I do have to give it to Yusei, he did give it his all. He proved to be a formidable foe.
Sayer (via screen): That's good. I'll be leaving now.


(Cortez is seated on a couch somewhere backstage. The screen in front of him shows the stadium; the Sphere is showing an image of Akiza. Cortez looks at Stardust Dragon, holding it in his hand.)

Cortez (think): Akiza. Yusei tried to help you, but no matter what he tried to do, he stood in your way. Just for me.
(He looks at his right arm, his Sign hidden by his glove and sleeve.)
Cortez (think): I'll rip you out of your *mask* so I can see that your not who you think you are. Inside you're a little girl who needs to be disciplined!
(Cortez adds Stardust Dragon to his deck.)
Cortez: I'll do what I can to get through you Akiza. I'm here for you now.

(Fireworks burst above the stadium as Sayer watches the view on TV; the camera is somewhere across the ocean from the stadium, showing it and the New Domino skyline from afar. The door beeps and opens)
Sayer: Huh?
(Akiza walks through the doorway and stops)
Akiza: It's time, Sayer.
(Sayer walks over, picks a bit of lint off of her sleeve and smoothes the hair around the energy stabilizer now once more styled into it.)
Sayer: If you want to play with him so much, you can break him as much as you want.
(She spots the mask she wears as the Black Rose sitting on the coffee table)
Akiza: I won't hold back on him.
Sayer (think): And *I* will have that kid in the Arcadia Movement.

(More fireworks. The Sphere is showing graphics of Junk Warrior and Black Rose Dragon. The crowd is jeering, cheering, and catcalling in anticipation of the match, most of it anti-Akiza.)
- Beat the freak!
- This is a tournament, not a creep-fest!
- Show no mercy!
(Cortez's circle are unnerved by the crowd)
Yanagi: That's not good! He won't stand a chance!
Tanner: Cortez better be careful. Yusei has everything he had, but his best wasn't enough to win this
Leo: But can he really beat her?
Tanner: I hope. Cause if he doesn't focus on helping her, I don't think talking through her can.
(Akiza's face turn into a creature with a glowing demonic face smiling evilly and laughs with an evil laugh, mixed with a demon tone.)
Dex: Well let's see how the duel turns out.
(Luna is looking at the floor again, worried)


(The announcer puts a foot up on the desk as the stadium goes dark)
Announcer: Yeah! It's finally time for the final! The winner of this next match gets to go on to the ultimate showdown--
(The Sphere shows an image of Jack.)
Announcer: A one-on-one, no-holds-barred duel with the Master of Faster himself, Jack Atlas!
(On the Sphere, flames wash over the graphic of Jack and transition to Akiza.)
Announcer: Our first finalist is the mysterious Black Rose, Akiza!
(Smoke-cannons go off, shooting four columns of it into the air; Akiza enters the arena via elevator platform, to widespread jeers)
- Go home, witch!
- You're gonna lose, you freak!
(On the sphere, the pattern of Yusei's prison mark appears, then scales down to meet its place on his face as that appears)
Announcer: Challenging her is the shooting star from the Satellite Sector, Yusei Fudo!
(Same smoke-cannons; Yusei faces Akiza, glaring fearlessly. The stadium lights up.)

(Up in the stands...)
Leo: Come on, Cortez, don't lose like Yusei did!
Dex: You can do it!
Yanagi: I'm counting on you!
Tanner: Be careful. *Very* careful. Don't hold back like Yusei did
(Kuribon appears to Luna)
Luna: You're sad like I was when Yusei got hurt real bad, Kuribon? I hope he's okey.

(Sayer is yet again leaning against a wall in a shadowy entrance to the stands)
Sayer (think): Akiza, this is our moment. Seize this opportunity, and show Cortez the power of the Arcadia Movement.
(Goodwin, Lezar, and Jack silently await the match)

Announcer: Every card has led us to this moment! The final round of the Fortune Cup is about to begin!
(Cut-screen: Jack, scowling; Akiza, determined; Cortez, more determined; Luna, worried-- then a cut-screen of the two duelists, ready to fight!)
Both: Let's do this!


(The sphere has a graphic of Akiza and Yusei. All of the screens around the edges of the stadium skyline, on which we saw the Eight introduced, alternate; half show Akiza, the other half Yusei)
Announcer: And now, get ready for the final round of the Fortune Cup!
Akiza: Hope you're ready!
(Both simultaneously draw five cards; 4000 lifepoints each.)
Akiza: The first move is mine! I draw! I summon Evil Thrones in defense mode!
[Evil Thrones /100//]
Akiza: Next I activate it's special ability! I now release my thrones to inflect three hundred points of damage damage to you!
(The Evil exploded into thrones and lashes into Cortez, as he shielded from the impact. He flinches from them as he now had 3700 LP.)
Akiza: And because I released my Thrones, I can summon two more Evil Thrones to the field in defense mode!
(Two Evil Thrones popped out to the field)
Akiza: And that's not all, I also play "Monster Reborn!" So my first Evil Throne is re-summoned to the field!
Cortez: I'm *not* liking where this is going.
Akiza: Then you won't like this. I play "Double Summon!" So I can summon two monsters on the same turn! I release my first Evil Thrones to advance summon Rose Tentacles!
[Rose Tentacles: 2200//]
Akiza: And why stop there when I can summon again!? I release two more Evil Thrones to advance summon Phoenixian Cluster Amaryllis!
[Phoenixian Cluster Amaryllis 2200/0/L8/fire]
Announcer: Amazing! It seems like the Black Rose is not wasting her time. She summoned her two most powerful monsters on the field! Can Cortez find a way to get out of this mess?!
Akiza: And I'm only starting! I play a special card that will root up a new hand! Card of Sanctity! So now we can draw until we have six! (Cortez draws one card) Be thankful you have one, but you won't like what my new hand can do. I play the field spell, Rose Garden!
(The field turns into a world of plants like her previous duels with Ransberg, Commander Koda and Yusei.)
Akiza: You're trap! Trap like fly in the spider's web! It so happen I am the spider and you're the fly.
Cortez (think): Great. The duel started and already Akiza is putting me in a bigger disadvantage. What else does she have?
(Akiza then had her eyes closed and pulled out a card that will be threaten for the field.)
Akiza: I now activate my "Ivy Shackles"! Now your field will be a plant house during my turn. *Good luck* and have *fun*
(Before he drew his card, he looked around the field.)
Cortez (think): To think Akiza could pull out a powerful combo like this, I don't know if I can win this. (out loud) My move (draws), then. And I counter by playing Necro guardna in defense mode!
[Necro Guardna: 600/1300/L3/]
Akiza: Since you summoned a monster, your Guardna's attack points are cut in half!
(Guardna's attack points are now 300)
Akiza: Not only that, I also get a Rose Token!
[Rose Token: 800//]
Akiza: Got *anything* else? You planning on Fusion or this XYZ summoning or something?
Cortez: All I can do is place three cards face down and end my turn
Akiza (draws): Pathetic! I expected more from you! Smash that Guardna! Rose Retaliation!
(Rose tentacles grabbed Necro Guardna and squeeze him until he shattered to glass pieces.)
Akiza: And don't forget it's special ability! Since Ivy Shackles is on the field, making your monsters become plant type monsters, when it destroys that monster, you take three hundred points of damage!
(The Rose Tentacles smacked Cortez at the abdomen as his lp went to 3400)
Cortez: Ugh!
Akiza: Now that Rose Tentacles destroyed a plant type monster, he can attack once again! Rose Retaliation!
(Rose Tentacles went in to attack Cortez directly.)
Cortez: Keep your flowers to yourself! I play the spell, "Scapegoat!" Now I can summon four sheep tokens to the field!
[Sheep Token /0/0/L1/Earth]
(This caused Rose Tentacles to attack one of the sheep tokens and destroyed it.)
Akiza: You seem to forgot about it's abilities! When it destroys a plant monster, you take additional three hundred points of damage!
(Rose Tentacles smacked Cortez in the shoulder. He cringed as he held on to his shoulder while as he now has 3100 lp now.)
Cortez: Ugh!
Akiza: Now Rose Tentacles, whip out those fuzz balls! Rose Retaliation!
(Rose Tentacles took all the "Scapegoats" with one lash. The vines then went in and lashed Cortez really hard and one more came in and impacted him to the ground.)

Leo: Hah!... He's taking real beatings real bad!
Yanagi: What is he gonna do?!
Tanner: At this point, he's gonna hit the asphalt!
Luna (covers her eyes): I take it anymore!

Announcer: What chaos! We seen allot what the Black Rose has with her field full of flower monsters. Those moves were the ones that took out Ransberg, Commander Koda and Yusei Fudo! Will this be anything different from the last one?!

(Cortez slowly gets back up from the hard beatings that he took with his Lp at 2100. He saw the smiling in Akiza's face. As he got up, he tried to focus on her.)
Akiza: And now that your field is wide open, you're once attack away from losing this duel! I do quite enjoyed our duel, but let's find out if you can survive two direct attacks? Rose Retaliation!
(As those tentacles thrones were about to take out Cortez's life points, his face turned stern with determination.)
Cortez: Not gonna happen! I activate my Necro Guardna's ability in my graveyard! (Necro Guardna appeared as a ghost and protected Cortez from the attack) Since you're attacking, I can remove him from play and stop your direct attack!
Akiza: Then I'll have my Amaryllis attack you directly! Attack!
(It was Amaryllis' turn to attack Cortez to end the duel.)
Cortez: I activate my Gentlemander in my hand!
Akiza: Huh?
(Gentlemander was automatically summoned to the field in defense mode.)
[Gentlemander/1000/L4/Lizard/Reptile]
Cortez: Because you're attacking, I can special summon Gentlemander from my hand to my field in defense mode to save my life points from taking a hit!
Announcer: Looks like Cortez was able to dodge the bullet from that one, but will it be enough to stay in this duel?
Akiza: Good! I want to see if there is more to you than meets the eye! I want to enjoy every moment of watching you wallow in my thrones! For now I activate Amaryllis' ability! She's destroyed after she attacks and deals eight hundred points of damage!
(Amaryllis exploded and Cortez shields himself from the blow.)
Akiza: Now I'll end my turn  by placing a card face down and save you some more punishment for later.
Cortez: Akiza, Yusei tried to help you. He wanted to show you that you are special! He wanted to show you what it means to make a choice!
(Akiza and started chuckling while shrugging until she raised up and started laughing cruelly.)
Akiza: All Yusei was doing was only making an excuse to delay your destruction! I am only here for you!
Cortez: Then if you duel to destroy, then I will do what ever it takes to stop you?!
(Cortez draws "Shrink")
Cortez: Then I'll do what ever it takes to stop you! I summon Elemental Hero ClayMan!
[Elemental Hero ClayMan/800/2000/L4/Earth]
Cortez: Next I activate Copy Knight! I can use it to *copy* monster I just summon to have the same name! And he's *copying* ClayMan!
(A darker shade of Clay appeared next to the real ClayMan.)
[Copy Knight/0/0/4/Light/Earth]
Akiza: *Go on* *XYZ summon* Cause you should remember that I have Rose Garden on my field to cut half of your monsters attack points!
Cortez: Not when I have "R Righteous Justice!" Now I can destroy every trap and spell on the field for every Elemental Hero on my field! And *yes*, my Copy Knight is a *Elemental Hero* Now say *good bye* to "Ivy Shackles" and Rose Garden!
(The blast of R Righteous Justice went in and blasted to hit both Ivy Shackles and Rose Garden. The field then went back to normal.)

Leo: Alright!
Dex: He got rid of both her spell cards!
Tanner: He might still have a chance to turn the duel around.

Akiza: Quick effort, but I played my face down!
Cortez: Huh?
Akixa: It was Emergency Provision!
(Flashes back to the scene where she used Emergency Provision just before R Righteous Justice destroyed the cards.)
Akiza: I used this card to send Rose Garden and "Ivy Shackles" to the grave to plant myself an extra one thousand life points for each card I send!
(Akiza's life points are not at 6000 lp.)
Announcer: Amazing counter! Looks like the Black Rose is always one step ahead of anyone she duels. She's not holding back on anyone! Will this be her fourth victory?!

- Come on, don't let up!
- Yeah, don't hold back like Yusei did!
- Just beat the freak already!

(Sayer is standing at the hall of the duel stadium.
Sayer: Nice way to counter him. Now try to make it quick. I need him if still breathing, so he can join the Arcadia Movement. That way with his will, I can make him powerful so we can take on our biggest threat.

Cortez: Not bad! But your field is gone! So now I overlay my two ClayMans!
((A red spiraling galaxy is formed on Cortez's field, into which fly the two streams of light that were his monsters; it then shoots a vivid green tunnel of light up from its center.)
Cortez: With these two monsters, I build the overlay network and XYZ summon, Blade Armor Ninja!
(Cortez's ninja comes in and takes the field as he appeared with two blades, ready to strike)
[Blade Armor Ninja/2200/R4/Warrior/Earth]
(The crowd cheers as they as they saw the same amazing XYZ summoning)
Announcer (excited): That's the same Xyz monster that helped Cortez take out Hunter Pace! Will this monster come in to help him turn this duel around?!
Cortez: Now I play the spell card, "Shrink!" This cuts Rose Tentacles' attack points in half!
(Rose Tentacles' attack points are now 1100)
Cortez: Now Blade Armor Ninja, attack! Go, Electromagnetic Sword Slice!
(Blade Armor Ninja runs up and slice Rose Tentacles in half as it turns to broken glass. Akiza's lifepoints went down to 5000)
Cortez: I'm not done yet! Blade Ninja can attack again by using one of it's overlay units!
(Blade Armor Ninja's kitana absorbed one of the green orbiting overlay units)
Cortez: Now attack directly!
(The ninja striked at Akiza again, but she does not flinch as she find it pathetic as her lifepoints are not at 3800)
Cortez: I'll end my turn with a face down card!
Akiza: Now then. I draw! Since my turn started, I can resummon Phoenixian Cluster Amaryllis! (it's summoned in defense mode) And from my hand, I'm activating the "Seed of Deception" spell card! With this card, I can summon out Dark Verger
[Dark Verger: 0//]
Akiza: But now I'm gonna do a little planting by summoning my Witch of the Black Rose!
[Witch of the Black Rose 1700//L4/]
Akiza: I tune Witch of the Black Rose and my Dark Verger to summon up a little tamer of Black Rose Dragon.
(Splendid Rose is a nimble, graceful blonde warrior with a skintight suit half black, half bright green; thornlike spikes around the hips; and several vines that whip out gracefully from behind her. Her boots are sprouting up flower petals around her ankles.)
Akiza: I synchro-summon Splendid Rose!
[Splendid Rose 2200//L6/]
Akiza: The worse thing is how dangerous he is than he is beautiful! I remove a plant-type monster from play so he can cut your monster's attack points in-half!
(Splendid Rose uses one of his whipping thrones and attaches it on Blade Armor Ninja as his attack points are not 1100)
Akiza: Now attack that ninja! Whip it
(He whips Blade Armor Ninja, destroying it as Cortez lifepoints went down to 1100.
Akiza: And now I think I'll finish up with another of Rose's Special abilities! Now since he attacked, I remove another plant-type monster so he can attack again by cutting his attack points in half!
(Splendid Rose chuckle evilly as his attack points turned to 1100. Cortez looked surprised in the face as that is how much he has)
Cortez (think): If that attack goes through, I'll be finished.

(The people in the crowd scream and cower in their seats.)

Announcer: Whoa! Looks like the Black Rose is gonna have her fourth win over her three wins so far. Will Cortez survive this attack? Let's hope he does if he wants to be the survivor!

- Man, is there no end to her?!
- He can survive this, right?
Leo: Oh, no!
Yanagi: Well, he's goin'ta bite the dust like Yusei after.
Tanner: If he doesn't stop that attack, he'll lose!
(Luna looks scared to see what else will happends, so she holds her hand in prayer for Cortez to survive this)
Luna: Cortez. Cortez if you can get out of this, please win this.


(Sayer, down in the stadium, hasn't moved)
Sayer (think): That's right, Akiza. Keep breaking him. I'll have him soon enough. Take this moment of your joy and break him to his limits, so I can recreate my ultimate warrior!

(Jack watching the Stadium unpleased)
Jack: Nice knowing you. Try and survive if you can, cause I still haven't forgotten about you.

Akiza: It was fun playing with you like a rag-doll, but let's see if you can get past this attack as I strike the finishing blow?
(Cortez's friends are nervous; Luna, worried; Sayer, triumphant; Yusei, still hurt ; Goodwin, watching; Jack, hawklike; Tableau: the field from Cortez's left corner, against a background of that sinister evil smile and the mask of the Black Rose. To Be Continued....)
