  2. Alright hey folks, today's video is going to be rather short; probably a couple of minutes at most. I've got a few things to cover so this is more of a channel update. I would have had a proper vlog today but Saturday I had a lot of editing to do and Sunday I went to my in-laws for Chinese New Year. In any case, let's get down to it.
  3.
  4. First off I wanted to thank the outdoor community on youtube. The folks there are fantastic, helpful and have really cool content themselves. So thank you all very much for your support and general involvement. I find real joy going on every day, watching videos, visiting peoples' live streams and doing my own all thanks to you- the community and my viewers and subscribers.
  5.
  6. Speaking of subscribers! I have hit my 100 subscriber mark. So many thanks to folks who made that possible. I'll be considering doing something for my 150 mile-mark such as a give away as numbers around 100 tend to flux heavily. So keep an eye out on that, my 150 mark!

  8. For those who are wondering why there hasn't been any subnautica uploads, I'm currently watching the Olympics and I don't want to have it playing in the background as the OIC has a very strict no-sharing of the content and I usually watch the games on the computer so there's that. Nothing really important but just a small explanation why there's been jellyfish IRL instead of jellyfish in-game. ;)

  10. The update around the 80d since some folks were asking... I have gotten an RMA and a refund for the broken camera and I am receiving a discount on a brand new factory camera in part to all of the problems that happened with Canon. I'm going to call them Monday and set up the payment for the new camera. I will be having another 80d unboxing because it just seems the right thing to do with a new camera.
  11.
  12. With this said, this also gets into the fact of why I haven't gone on my February hike yet. For one, things have been incredibly busy this month with Chinese New Year just starting, next Saturday I'm going to another holiday party as well but it is how things are. Second; I'm still waiting on the new 80d and I plan on picking up the Roxant Stabilizer so there's just been a bit of a push to get the tech upgraded before I do any further hiking vlogs. This said I still have a lot of content to go through and I'm already in a backlog.
  13.
  14. Lastly, I'm going to cover what I have in store for the channel for the next couple of weeks to next couple of months. As I've said I've been working on updating my gear which is part of the things I have in store- or rather the things that allow me to show you guys what I am doing.
  15.
  16. Thursday I went to the Cal Academy of Sciences SF Beer week; my last video showed some of the sea nettles that were there, I still have some other video from it which should be great fun for the docu-clip series that I have been doing. So expect some videos from that.
  17.
  18. I also have a TON of images I have to edit and get up on instagram, facebook, deviantart and other social media. I'm really in a backlog for those as well which isn't necessarily a bad thing as it just means I have a lot of content. If folks would like I could start making slideshows to put up once a week, maybe on the weekend. Let me know if that's something you'd like in the comments below. This said, yes I plan on doing more editing streams I just have to get through the remainder of this month.
  19.
  20. End of February, early March I have plans on going to the Markham Nature Park & Arboretum. This is a small nature park in Concord California and it introduces people to forty-five different species of trees. Many of the trees come from around the world, Africa, Australia, Europe and so on. The last time I went here was during the bay area's massive drought so I'm hoping things will be much greener then.
  21.
  22. End of March my husband and I will be going to Mt. Diablo to camp for the Easter Holiday. We will be spending two days there so I will have a lot of footage and photography from there to add onto my already overloaded lightroom catalogue. But it should be fantastic.
  23.
  24. Early April I am going to be going to the Save Mt. Diablo 5k Trails Challenge which the proceeds go to saving and protecting our beautiful landscape of Mt. Diablo. I will do a little bit of vlogging on the way but probably will not have a proper hike-vlog because it is a race. I feel this is a great way for me to get back into a little more serious outdoors hiking/jogging after my injury in 2017.
  25.
  26. Mid April I would like to go to the Conservatory of Flowers in San Francisco before the flowers start to change season. Also I will be doing a vlog from the Northern California Cherry Blossom Festival.I suspect that it will be INCREDIBLY busy on the second week so I will be going the first week to avoid the massive crowds.
  27.
  28. Early May I will be doing a hike through Lime Ridge Open Space in Concord/Walnut Creek and I will be trying to do a hike to Newhall Park which looks quite pretty so I'll let folks know more info with the upcoming dates for that. I also have plans to possibly going out to Antioch to visit Black Diamond Mines Regional Preserve, but I'm not sure on the date of that.
  29.
  30. The upcoming summer months will likely all be done in San Francisco as in part to the fact that it is incredibly hot in late spring, early summer in the east bay and I learned very quickly it's easy to exhaust yourself in such heat. Most people tend to avoid hiking during this time. However I will be planning another visit to the Conservatory of Flowers in the summer, I plan on going to Golden Gate Park and the Tea Gardens, Ocean Beach- Sutro Baths, Telegraph Hill, Grand View Park and some other places. Concerning Ocean Beach that will likely be done in early August since we get some really nice fog in late summer. There might also be a trip out to the Golden Gate Bridge but I'm not entirely sure yet. This being said, despite the inevidible heat in the east bay; I will be attending the Obon Festival in Concord during late August.
  31.
  32. Come fall I will be likely looking at doing another camp in Mt. Diablo, avoiding September due to the tarantulas. But that's about it hike and event wise of what I have planned but there's likely going to be a lot more.
  33.
  34. Vlog wise; I have some fun things, some unboxings, 5 Tips for Hikers, some local bay area discussions, other tips- and 'hacks' videos, photography videos, things like that so please look forward to it. In any case this is starting to get on a lot longer than I thought it was going to take so I'm going to end it here.
  35.
  36. Thank you so much for stopping in, if you liked the video give it a thumbs up and feel free to share it with your friends! Thank you and have a good one!
