- “Many of our kind control the fire,” answered Balrog. “Do not compare me with those weaklings!
- Do you think you can ward off my hot fist!?”
- The demon threw up the limb, slamming it to the ground. He recovered quickly, immediately
- raising his claws above his head with a monstrous speed.
- “Die!” growled the demon—and with the full might of his demonic power, he smashed his fists
- down onto Dante.
- The dust rose from the blow and covered the enemy’s figure in a cloud. Lucia couldn’t see
- anything.
- “Dante?!”
- As the dust began to settle, Lucia was taken aback. The demonic fist Balrog had used to smear
- Dante into the ground had frozen mere centimeters above the devil hunter. Looking closer, she noticed
- that Dante and Balrog appeared to be separated by some kind of invisible wall.
- “What?”
- Balrog snarled, slamming the fist again into the invisible wall. But the devil hunter in front of him
- was holding a peculiar weapon: three metal claws on chains, attached to a metal ring.
- “Been waiting a long time to use this,” said Dante, and the wall in front of him smashed apart
- upon his command. “I can’t stand the steam room.”
- Some fragments from the wall scattered as far back as where Lucia stood. She leaned over,
- picking up one of the pieces: ice glittered in her hand.
- ...an ice weapon?! How bizarre!
- With the wall in fragments, Balrog staggered back, but then straightened and clenched his fist
- again. Dante twisted the chains with practised skill, spending time juggling the weapon from shoulder to
- shoulder and stood in an unprecedented stance, just like the hero in a martial arts film. The only
- difference? The chains on the ring Dante wielded blew frost across the field.
