raven - Today at 3:56 AM
let me tell you a story of pre-release FE10 bullshit
NotJim - Today at 3:56 AM
+10 HP
raven - Today at 3:56 AM
because like
this is probably what mycen did
basically the pre-release rumors
were spreading like wildfire
one of them was really interesting
NotJim - Today at 3:57 AM
what were they
raven - Today at 3:57 AM
and sounded plausible
Dotty - Today at 3:57 AM
i'm already bored
raven - Today at 3:57 AM
it's the main one i heard
fuck you
this is cool
or it wouldve been
Dotty - Today at 3:57 AM
hahaha
raven - Today at 3:57 AM
basiclaly ike and zelgius were half-siblings
and sons of ashnard
and greil took ike shortly after ike was born
because he saw ashnard go crazy
NotJim - Today at 3:58 AM
what
lemonbot1
raven - Today at 3:58 AM
and that's the real reason he left the four riders
NotJim - Today at 3:58 AM
ok but whats anothert
raven - Today at 3:58 AM
the others are currently lost to time because the FESS archives are down
thats the one i remember the most
theyve been downf or like 9 years mind you
but that's probably hwat mycen did with alm
Dotty - Today at 3:59 AM
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
raven - Today at 3:59 AM
though this is still post-ike leaks
where ike starts to look quite a bit like greil
so i guess we should've thought more critically and went "well this is dumb"
but it's also like around the time they leaked zelgius too
so i guess maybe the theory was just founded on some shit
not theory
the leak
raven - Today at 4:00 AM
"leak"
rumor
i'm willing to bet something got lost in translation too
about micaiah being the apostle
but somehow they mied ike and zelgius in there too?
woulda made FE10 a lot more interesting if something liek that were true though
still only the third most disappointing game in the series plotwise
the blood pact shit is seriously hte dumbest idea IS has ever come up with
and they came up with witches
Dotty - Today at 4:02 AM
hahaha
It wasn't very smart
raven - Today at 4:02 AM
it was dumb
i mean okay whatever
micaiah's actions are morally ambiguous
come upw iths ome shit to make it not ambiguous anymore
even though it's stupid
WHATEVER
but then you do some shit to ashnard
and involve him in all this
and you do it to naesala
and involve him in that
you crossed some lines there
naesala was intriguing because he was a self serving dipshit that went between trying to make his kingdom not so shitty but also not completely selling out his friends in the process
but overally a morally dubious character
ashnard was the personification of his philosophy
and then its like
"the blood pact made me do all those things"
"the blood pact is how i killed my family"
that's crossing lines
Dotty - Today at 4:04 AM
yeah eesh
raven - Today at 4:04 AM
that's so frustrating for me
i mean he sold out his friends a lot
but he did it in the end for his kingdom
he was a shitbag about how he did it
but he had a clear purpose
and ashnard slayed his whole family so he could prove himself hte most powerful and therefore the most fit to rule
and had no qualms with someone killing him to take the throne
because then he still wins if they rule like he did
Dotty - Today at 4:05 AM
Yeah
raven - Today at 4:05 AM
because he's not a hypocrite
but nope blood pact killed em
if they left that alone
then radiant dawn wouldn't be as annoying
but ALAS
and the blood pact being micaiah's justification was just so stupid
Dotty - Today at 4:07 AM
Yeah, she had a lot more potential to be explored
and what they did with her in the game was already really interesting alone
raven - Today at 4:07 AM
they could've easily just handwaved it with "begnion gave us supplies to rebuild, and we decided to aid them"
Dotty - Today at 4:07 AM
ie. being deliberately set up as daein's "ike"
raven - Today at 4:07 AM
and they could've like
thrown her name around as some sort of goddess of revolution
Dotty - Today at 4:07 AM
and then caving to pressure and trying to do some dodgy stuff to win(edited)
raven - Today at 4:08 AM
and split apart begnion some more
making the senators the ones supply daein with aid or something
and sanaki et al going to gallia's side
so making it a proper begnion civil war
but while giving aid to nations ravaged by the war
and crimea stayed on sanaki's side due to her previous aid
shit like that would've made it more interesting
and yeah micaiah being pragmatic and doing dirty shit to win is like
perfectly fine
since they would've been ravaged by gallia
NotJim - Today at 4:09 AM
lol blood pact
raven - Today at 4:09 AM
and parts of begnion forces
NotJim - Today at 4:09 AM
aka
raven - Today at 4:09 AM
but they went hte blood pact rout
NotJim - Today at 4:09 AM
'make everyone a camus archetype'
raven - Today at 4:09 AM
and i'm not even sure why
it's much more convoluted than what i described too
Dotty - Today at 4:10 AM
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Oh welllllll
raven - Today at 4:10 AM
yeah i mean echoes has been pleasant so far
echoes is the first story i've really enjoyed since FE9
i wish alm made more mistakes though
same with celica
but that's an issue with most FE games aside from FE4
