  1. Its best to keep ~3 cells behind the natural and main mineral lines to allow for anti-drop harass buildings, as well as to avoid photon cannon spots. Some players like to hide tech and upgrades behind them as well.
  2. If a player is going to spend that much time removing the mineral wall, they're not going to be super happy that their two geysers are going to be extremely exposed from a terribly long rush distance. https://i.imgur.com/C1bADAX.jpg
  3. Beyond that, the map just becomes a Standard/Macro map, and doesn't utilize the mineral wall feature much at all. The map has quite a bitof dead space, and some odd proportion issues scattered around, such as narrow pathways in the corners and by the siege point showed in the picture above.
  4. The name Sand Rush also implies to players that this would be a smaller map.
