However, entries for both bets and participants were allowed ahead of time! In any case, what IS about to rear up and get started is the next round of the Festival of Founding's Talent Show. This is held once an hour today, it seems, with groups of five

  27. Jun 12 19:32:56 <SuikoGM> This seems to be taking place around the main stage area that Soma and her dance troupe are going to be performing later. Some of the troupe is still hanging around, but most everything seems set up. They're just waiting for a few hours from now.
  28. Jun 12 19:33:06  Somalakshmi notices the two of them speaking with the attendant. "I wonder what that Rune Hunter girl is planning on doing..." she says to Sumeru.
  29. Jun 12 19:33:41 <SuikoGM> The attendant looks a bit worried. "A piano... I doubt you'd see many in a village like this, and they're a bit heavy to transport for just the one festival..."

  38. Jun 12 19:37:49 <Lekha> "Oh, and a piece of light wood about...this big?" She motions in a vague cylinder shape, about the width of a thick branch.

  49. Jun 12 19:42:58 <SuikoGM> There's an elder man sitting at the first seat. He looks kindly and wizened, even for his age, but the weight the years has not been kind to him. The man has a number of scars visible, even from here. A paper nameplate reading "Mayor McGraw" is in front of him, and anyone can roll General Education on him if you like, with Iltani receiving a skill stunt for this check.

  156. Jun 12 20:27:28 <SuikoGM> The shuckbot starts making a spewing black fountain of greasy oil, before spitting a bit over in the judges' directions. ...It's a bit overeager, and Luc finds himself with a big blotch of black oil on his face.

  159. Jun 12 20:29:04 <SuikoGM> The shuckle's limbs seem to start spinning around its body in a circle... ...very briefly generating lift. ...Very briefly. The Shuckle gets about a foot off the ground before crashing back down to earth again. It then looks at Aston and makes a bit of an annoyed "Bzzt bzzt!" sound.
  160. Jun 12 20:29:50  Lekha lets out a sound that is basically inaudable but makes Zemrude cover approximately where his ears are with his little flapflaps.
  161. Jun 12 20:31:02 <SuikoGM> The boy is looking increasingly worried now. "Uhhhh... grandpa didn't finish installing Mega Form... dangit... Uhhhhhh.... uhhh..." The once confident kid seems like he's forgotten the bag of tricks he was going to use, now that he's on the spot. Or maybe he was convinced Gizmo by itself would be enough to woo the crowd.

  163. Jun 12 20:33:38 <SuikoGM> McGraw: "Now, now, be nice to the boy. That is quite an interesting... creature you have there, young man. Keep working hard, so we can look forward to the results. Let's have another round of applause." The audience is pretty impressed aside, and claps for Aston as he picks Gizmo up and hurries off-stage.

  174. Jun 12 20:38:02  Iltani looks to Mayor McGraw, giving a Nolgrandan military salute. "Was a Private First Class with the 6th Division Recon, Skittering Shiftries. It's an honor, sir."
  175. Jun 12 20:38:05 <SuikoGM> Bernard is locking eyes with you and has a goofily serious expression on his face.
  176. Jun 12 20:40:13 <Iltani> "I grew up in Ever's Path as a mechanist and tinker, and had to fix a fair few instruments during my apprenticeship, pianos included. So I have a piece I will be performing for you all, with a bit of a twist."

  178. Jun 12 20:41:26  Iltani sits at the piano, and takes a moment of concentration before beginning to play. As she strikes the keys, a metallic percussive sound rings out before she applies a more traditional melody - essentially modifying the piano to provide both a beat and traditional melody at the same time.
