had snapped, to move.
He fueled his fingers with strength so that they could grab the floor.

A noise came from within Kamijou’s body that sounded like it cracking apart.
But Kamijou didn’t care. It’s not like his body was in a condition to let him feel pain
anyway.
He barely managed to lift just his upper body like he was doing a push-up.
“Stop, Touma!” pressed Touya. For someone who wasn’t letting his eyes off of the
professional magician for a minute and had just declared war against him, he appeared
to be on the verge of tears when he looked at the wrecked Kamijou.
“Don’t worry about me. From your conversation, I understand that I’ve wrought
something terrible. So, Touma, it’s all right—you don’t have to stand up anymore,” he
pleaded with a pained expression.
There was no way he would stop Kamijou at this point, though.
Kamijou wormed and writhed with creaking and cracking like a puppet whose cogs were
misaligned.

Like a wounded beast, Kamijou glared at the enemy in front of him.
The enemy before him...
He wasn’t an object of terror, and he wasn’t a wall of hopelessness.
He was an enemy who he needed to defeat with his own hands.
“Did it misfire...? Or wait, was the result of his guts for having taken a step forward in
the face of Brain Shaker?” Tsuchimikado muttered to himself, looking a bit surprised,
but Kamijou could no longer answer.
