  1. ============Prompt============
  2. Scientist: General, I'm afraid the kaiju experiment turned out ... less intelligent than we desired.
  3. General: How do you mean?
  4. Scientist: -clicks a laser pen and points it at a wall in the chamber holding Orchid-
  5. Orchid: -turns her attention to the laser on the wall and stares at it intently-
  6. Orchid: -mushes her face against the wall, trying to bite it-
  7. General: It's worse than I thought.
  8. ---
  9. >not immediately seeing the potential of laser guided WMD
  10. Pretty shit general.
  11. ---
  12. >Not immediately seeing how that could easily be turned against them.
  13. Pretty shit anon.
  14. ============Laser Pointers and Kaiju============
  15.
  16. "Mister Anonymous, I understand you had a special relationship with the weapon, Orchid.”
  17.
  18. The man in the interview seat sunk into his hands. "Yes, just the mention of her name gives me plot-relevant flashbacks."
  19.
  20. He could remember it like it was just yesterday...
  21.
  22. Yesterday, 6AM: First feeding.
  23.
  24. He was bored. One would think that taking care of a massive, alien-hybrid sea monster would be perpetually exciting. But no, he spent the morning looking at the day’s breakfast ingredients.
  25.
  26. Grass Carp with added sugar, spice, things that are nice.
  27. Well that was quick. He tried to ignore the loud lip smacking echoing in the chamber. Watching her eat was never particularly pleasant. In the meantime it was the very boring same old day. Except this time he had an idea.
  28.
  29. “Hey Orchid.”
  30.
  31. “Hm?” her eyes followed to where he was pointing and stopped squarely on the pier.
  32.
  33. “What’s that?” he whispered low.
  34.
  35. She stared at the laser-projected spot and froze, not moving a muscle.
  36.
  37. “Oh no, it’s a red dot!” you shout.
  38.
  39. Her pupils went wide.“Wh-what does it do?!”
  40.
  41. You just answer with a “Look out!” and slowly trailed the laser in a winding route closer to her. She flinches back but then it starts to move towards your end of the pier. No sooner had it made a few lazy feet when there was a splash. The kaijupone started to raise herself into a full standing position, dripping water as she coiled up. “Anon, don’t move. I’ll protect you.”
  42.
  43. You flicked the beam abruptly, marking Orchid gasp as she twisted around to follow it zipping across the water. She zeroed in on it getting ready to pounce. The dot crawled its way across the wall when she sprang at it with a "Rawr!" That is, she yelled the onomatopoeia, not the sound itself.
  44.
  45. She slammed into the wall of the enclosure with an almighty bang. A ceiling fixture dropped with a splash. A spiderweb of cracks appeared around the impact. The force of the blow stunned her for a second.
  46.
  47. “Orchid! Are you okay?” No, wait, she was just looking for her target. The kaiju peeled herself from the wall, rubble falling from the crater and turned her head, tears welling up in her eyes. From where her horn hit, the cement and re-bar had given way to the solid cliff bedrock the entire based was built on. Bits of rock were stuck in her mane but her horn was as bright and spiraling as ever.
  48.
  49. “I didn’t catch it, Anon,” she sniffled, rubbing her nose plate.
  50.
  51. “Wow she’s tough. Like, indestructible. Wonder if there's a way to weaponize this somehow.”
  52.
  53. “Did someone say weaponize?”
  54.
  55. Behind him was a classic man in a black suit.
  56.
  57. "How did you get in here?"
  58.
  59. "The government is always watching." He pulls a fancy business card and hands it to you. "Ted, United States weapons research and development. We have a proposition for you. It has lots of money."
  60.
  61. "What's your plan?"
  62.
  63. "Laser pointers" he said and pointed to the kaiju, "and her, aimed at whatever we want knocked down."
  64.
  65. "How much money?"
  66.
  67. "All the money."
  68.
  69. "That's a lot of money."
  70.
  71. "It is."
  72.
  73. "Deal."
  74.
  75. The rest of the day went by normally. By the next morning he had shrugged it off and went about the usual morning wheelbarrow of food. But something smelled a little odd as the monsterhorse started to eat. He checked today’s ingredient listing.
  76.
  77. *Grass Carp, with added:
  78. -Sugar
  79. -Spices
  80. -Things that are nice
  81. -Chemical X
  82.
  83. "Oh no." He pulled himself away from the clipboard, only to see Orchid licking her lips by an empty wheelbarrow.
  84.
  85. A dull groan shook the room. It was Orchid. Her eyes seemed to glow brighter, her antennae buds opened in mock bloom. Her pupils widened, no- she was just getting bigger.New plating grew over top of the old, reinforcing her body. The faint blue dots a the end of her tail were like LED's piercing through the water, their ends curling as they tapered off into the abyss. Her haunches expanded over the bottom of the pool where she sat, threatening to take itself all the way to the edge of the central drop off that lead to the exit gate. The rumbling of rapid cellular growth stopped, leaving him to gape. Where she had previously taken up about a quarter of the sprawling kaiju den, she now dominated it by at least a third. He was starting to worry if she could even fit through the door anymore.
  86.
  87. Her ears flicked and she scrunched her snout. She reached out with a foreleg, comparing the size of her handler to her now enlarged hoof.
  88.
  89. "You're tiny," the kaijupone chirped.
  90.
  91. "I see the nectar serum was effective.
  92.
  93. The kaiju keeper jumped. "Where do you even come from?!"
  94.
  95. "The government is always-"
  96.
  97. "Yeah, I know. Hey, where did you get that chemical, anyway?"
  98.
  99. "We weaponize a lot of things."
  100.
  101. And that was the start of her unusual growth spurt. Anonymous never did find out where that came from, but days later it hadn't stopped and he just had to deal with it until they managed to find something to counteract it. Every attempt has failed so far.
  102.
  103. From then on Orchid was weaponized. The army would point a powerful laser-pointer at whatever they wanted and of course she would plow into it to save the day. In the meantime, the chemical x mixture hasn’t shown any signs of stopping after it triggered her cellular growth. She is history’s biggest battering ram and she’s only getting more destructive with each passing day. Now it was an arms race to see who could build the biggest laser pointer. An hour ago Russia unveiled the launch of its orbital laser pointer satellite. Where humanity once feared space-born payloads of nuclear arms, there are only laser pointers. The United States says they could project a giant red dot on Moscow in mere seconds after an alert.
  104.
  105. The united nations has banned laser pointer technology, but their authority is falling apart. Japan refused their treaties, saying they have stepped up into the green dot spectrum. They plan on using the more visible green light to run her in circles in a holding pattern off the coast of Indonesia, disrupting fish and tourism and threatening artificial islands in the Sea of China. News networks call for your head for your international bio-terrorism.
  106.
  107. All of this, and it was just a prank, bro.
