  1.
  2. <Vigilant_GM> IT IS THE 41ST MILLENNIUM...
  3. <Vigilant_GM> With the Rogue Trader's festivities over, the Hostel's activities return to normal. Your doorway companions now gone.
  4. * Shiv yawns.
  5. <Vigilant_GM> The morning service arrives with a knock.
  6. <Shiv> "It's too early."
  7. * Baird having already been awake, walks from the side room and answers the door to the suite.
  8. * Karpath paces back and forth in the main room, his mind still trying to figure out how to find Tony
  9. <Vigilant_GM> "Yes, good morning sir. Would Mr. Pettibon and his retainers care to break fast in-suite today?" an older man in Roseburry uniform says in greeting.
  10. <Baird> "I believe that would be his preference yes, thank you."
  11. <Vigilant_GM> He nods, putting on spectacles before looking at a list.
  12. * Shiv stumbles out of the room and walks to the bathroom to clean himself up.
  13. * Velam relaxes on the nearby couch, with a novel of some sort. Those who can read high gothic would see the savant is reading something involving philosophy and mathematics as it applies to high born merchant guilds.
  14. <Vigilant_GM> "That is... six portions, then," he rings a small bell, and makes way for the serving trollies to come forward.
  15. <Baird> "Appreciated. I would be remiss in my duties if I didn't check the trollies."
  16. <Vigilant_GM> "Ah. Yes, of course," the older man nods.
  17. * Baird stoops down and checks the underneath of each trolley as well as lifting each lid of each dish and checking everything.
  18. <Vigilant_GM> The scent of quality provender fills your nostrils as lids come open. More portions than necessary, you realize. A variety of dishes to choose from for every one of the six accounted guests.
  19. <Velam> The sound and smell of the arriving breakfast alerts the relaxing savant. He peeks his head above his book, before shutting it quickly and sitting up. Despite the juvenat treatments his knees still crack when he stands. "What a delicious smell, and the recaff has the scent of true quality. Excellent."
  20. * Shiv gets dressed and emerges out to get food.
  21. * Nitrous prepares to for break fast
  22. * Karpath minds is somewhat taken off the thoughts about finding Tony as the smell of food fills his lungs.
  23. <Velam> Velam of course waits for his 'master' to be served first before he himself feeds.
  24. * Baird waits until 'Mr. Pettibon' get's his plate then grabs some quality meat, spuds and a sauce.
  25. <Vigilant_GM> One of the servants locks the double-doors wide open, allowing the trollies to roll in.
  26. * Shiv takes a plate of food and says "Oh, it all smells so good!"
  27. * Karpath grabs some of the food and finds a place to eat.
  28. <Shiv> "Roy is gonna miss out."
  29. * Nitrous grabs a plate and starts digging in.
  30. * Shiv finds a table and eats his food.
  31. * Velam eats his own food at the nearby main table, drinking plenty caffeine with it. His two servoskulls hover just above and behind him.
  32. * Karpath eats his food, as his stomach begins to be filled his mind returns to trying to find Tony and what happened to him.
  33. * Baird collects his choice of food and sits down at the table next to Velam, making sure he's seated so he can keep an eye on the door.
  34. <Vigilant_GM> As the morning service leaves, a small calling card is placed on a small table next to the doors.
  35. <Velam> "Oh my." Velam adjusts his glasses before gesturing at the calling card with a fork.
  36. <Baird> "I have a guess on who that's from. As I'm sure we all do."
  37. * Karpath gets up from his seat and walks over to the table with the calling card on it.
  38. <Karpath> "Yep it is."
  39. * Karpath picks up the card and takes a look at the card, looking at both sides of it.
  40. <Vigilant_GM> The calling card is from Banu Surena. The Surena dynastic sigil on one side, and a hand-written note on the other. "We have a common adversary."
  41. <Karpath> "Interesting." he then walks over to Baird and hands him the card.
  42. * Baird looks over the card. "Seems we have an appointment with the rogue trader woman Mr. Pettibon."
  43. <Shiv> "*gulps* I guess it is time to make some proper second introductions." He laughs nervously.
  44. <Baird> "Well when would you like to meet with her Mr. Pettibon?"
  45. <Shiv> "Of Course. Of Course. It would be rude not to. Right, Thaddeus?"
  46. <Shiv> "You mean the time...hmm. Sometime in the afternoon? Sounds good. Maybe sometime after lunch at least, right?"
  47. <Velam> "That was much quicker than I anticipated." Velam. "Might be a good idea to inquire if Lunch would be a good time to answer."
  48. * Karpath singles the group to join him in the meeting room.
  49. * Karpath then makes his way the the closet for the meeting.
  50. * Baird stands and pockets the card before moving into the side room and gathering his gear. It only takes him a few moments to do this before joining the others in the 'meeting room'.
  51. * Shiv follows Karpath into the meeting closet.
  52. * Nitrous follows along
  53. * Velam sighs, but refills his cup of recaff, after quickly finishing his plate, before joining the others.
  54. * Karpath waits for everyone to enter the closet and that the door to it is closed.
  55. <Karpath> "Ok if I'm correct I think we should meet with the Rouge Trader as soon as possible, as if this is from her it would be less of a suggestion."
  56. <Velam> "Lunch it is then."
  57. <Karpath> "Well more like sooner would be better."
  58. <Karpath> "Also this Common enemy could be related to the disappearance to our friend and they may know something."
  59. <Baird> "Given what the note said she may have some information on Tony. I'm rather eager to see what she has to say."
  60. <Baird> "Besides Velam, what if we wait till lunch and she's all business. Then we're hungry and Shiv get's hungry. Doesn't work out so well since he's the 'face' right now."
  61. <Velam> "Oh very well, point taken." The older man seems put off for a little bit, but it all makes logical sense so he soon gets over it.
  62. <Shiv> "Let's go now then."
  63. <Karpath> "Agreed."
  64. * Baird nods and looks around. "Anyone have anything else before we leave our 'meeting room'."
  65. * Karpath shakes his head.
  66. <Shiv> "Time for Pettibon show starring me Pettibon!"
  67. <Baird> "....."
  68. <Baird> "Excellent addition."
  69. * Baird opens the closet door and moves out into the suite before sitting down and waiting for the others to collect their gear for the meeting.
  70. * tony is now known as Tony
  71. * Karpath gathers what things he needs and meets in the main room.
  72. * Velam leaves his plasma pistol behind in the bag of weapons in the closet, before leaving with Baird.
  73. * Shiv takes his hand flamer and preps himself.
  74. * Nitrous takes his shotgun and prepares.
  75. * Shiv joins Baird afterwards.
  76. * Baird looks around making sure everyone is ready before gesturing to Shiv. "Shall we Mr. Pettibon?"
  77. <Shiv> "Of course, Vestian."
  78. * Baird takes point and leads the group towards the stairwell to head towards the meeting with the rogue trader.
  79. <Velam> The savant follows behind, behind Shiv and Baird.
  80. <Vigilant_GM> Upon arriving on the top-most floor, you spot two guards. You recognize one as the scarred guard who stood out your door the night before.
  81. <Baird> "Ah. If you'd let your master know we received her invitation it'd be appreciated."
  82. <Baird> "Hopefully this is a convenient time for a meeting."
  83. <Vigilant_GM> He nods you through without a word.
  84. * Baird tips his hat to them and continues to take point as he moves through the doorway that was flanked by the guards.
  85. <Karpath> /me follows Baird in.
  86. * Shiv follows behind Karpath with Velam near him.
  87. <Vigilant_GM> The entire floor is full of Surena guards and servants.
  88. <Velam> Velam leaves himself open to absorb every interesting detail his eyes can manage to take in. "Exquisite."
  89. <Vigilant_GM> A pleasant scent of incense fills this floor, a mix of exotic flowers and custom furniture further makes Surena feel at home.
  90. <Vigilant_GM> The sounds of laughter, and a train of servants entering an open chamber indicate the way towards the Rogue Trader.
  91. * Baird heads in the direction indicated by the laughter and servants. +Stay close everyone.+
  92. <Velam> "Lady Surena has quite the taste. To be expected of a Rogue Trader." He muses to himself. His hands twitch in annoyance, the urge to record all of what he sees in his dataslate rising.
  93. * Shiv says to Velam in a low voice "It's quite interesting. All this wealth... makes my father's fortune feel /smaller/."
  94. <Vigilant_GM> "That and more, my Lady!" a man calls out, sitting in the comfortable lounge, by the rogue trader and others.
  95. <Velam> "Well she is a Rogue Trader, master. Rogue Trader's are among the most wealthy of men and women of His Majesty's most Holy Imperium."
  96. <Shiv> "Of course, of course. But I never imagine.." he trails off into mumbles.
  97. <Vigilant_GM> "Mr. Pettibon," Lady Surena calls out, then. All eyes turn to the approaching party.
  98. <Velam> "Remember your training, sir, and be on your best behavior." He says before falling back behind with the rest of the group.
  99. * Shiv nervously puts his hands to his side and bows.
  100. <Shiv> "G-Good Morning, Lady Surena."
  101. <Vigilant_GM> "Is it?" she asks.
  102. <Shiv> "Heh hmm, morning for me... I-I tend to sleep very, very late."
  103. <Vigilant_GM> "I had hoped I was ill-informed," she says with some impatience.
  104. <Shiv> "Oh, you mean. Well, 'good' would not be the best word to describe my situation. But never the less, I will not bore you with my troubles."
  105. <Shiv> "And I would also like to apologize for my behavior against Mr. Gallis. It was completely unprofessional."
  106. <Vigilant_GM> "Yes. It was" she rises to her feet. Her guests do the same.
  107. <Vigilant_GM> "Excuse me, gentlemen," she adds nodding to them.
  108. <Vigilant_GM> She walks towards Shiv.
  109. <Vigilant_GM> "Walk with me, you awkward, awkward man."
  110. <Shiv> "Yes, ma'am."
  111. * Baird steps up and stands a few paces behind Shiv intending to 'shadow' him.
  112. * Karpath says with the rest of the group.
  113. <Vigilant_GM> She stops, mid-pace, and looks over her shoulder to Baird.
  114. <Vigilant_GM> Her eyes then shift back to Shiv.
  115. <Baird> "I would be derelict in my duties if I didn't stay nearby mam. I'd certainly lose my employ with his father if I let him go unaccompanied."
  116. * Shiv eyes lock with Baird like they are trying screaming "Help" to him.
  117. <Vigilant_GM> She turns.
  118. <Vigilant_GM> She eyes Baird from head to tow, slowly approaching.
  119. <Vigilant_GM> toe*
  120. <Vigilant_GM> "Now, you wouldn't want to upset me, would you?" she places a hand on his chest.
  121. <Vigilant_GM> "Imagine how hurt I would be if after bullying poor old Mr. Gallis you were to treat me like a threat," she paces in a circle around Baird.
  122. <Baird> "It isn't my aim. But upsetting his father is worse for me as I'd be out on my tail mam." Baird keeps his tone respectful.
  123. <Vigilant_GM> "Why think in such negative terms?" she pouts.
  124. <Vigilant_GM> "Let's think in terms of what would be better for you, not worse," she adds now standing eye to eye.
  125. <Baird> "That's certainly what I'm doing mam."
  126. <Vigilant_GM> "You and your... friends, can sit down and be my guests, enjoy my hospitality. I promise to give him back to you in one piece," she turns to wink at Shiv.
  127. <Shiv> "I'll... I'll be fine, Vestian."
  128. <Baird> "As I've stated mam. As head of security I do have to accompany. I do apologize for the inconvenience."
  129. <Baird> "I go not to ensure his personal safety. But to also keep him from making any mistakes."
  130. * Baird glares pointedly at Shiv.
  131. <Vigilant_GM> "A head of security, and a mentor?" her head tilts in curiosity.
  132. <Baird> "In a manner mam."
  133. <Vigilant_GM> "Very well, but..." her hand reaches down to Baird's waist, her gaze firmly locked with his.
  134. <Vigilant_GM> Her hand rests on one of his pistols, "No weapons."
  135. <Baird> "Understood. Mr. Smith come here."
  136. <Nitrous> "Yes?"
  137. * Nitrous approaches Baird.
  138. * Baird unclips the pistols on his belt and hands them to Nitrous. "Do not lose them Mr. Smith."
  139. <Nitrous> "Understood." takes baird's pistols
  140. <Vigilant_GM> She turns back to Shiv, curling her index finger over her shoulder for Baird to keep up.
  141. * Baird falls in step with the two following just a few paces behind. Close enough to hear the conversation but not so close as to be an oppressive presence.
  142. <Vigilant_GM> "It is my understanding, Mr. Pettibon, that you have lost someone as recently as last night."
  143. <Shiv> "Yes, Roy disappeared last night. I thought he went out, but well... I thought ... we tried to look for him, but no luck. He didn't return in the morning either."
  144. <Vigilant_GM> "I had him followed," she says.
  145. <Vigilant_GM> "After your disagreeable encounter with Mr. Gallis, I wanted to make sure there would be no disruptions," she explains.
  146. <Shiv> "Understandable, ma'am. Please, I need any leads with finding Roy."
  147. <Vigilant_GM> She stops in place.
  148. <Vigilant_GM> "There was a struggle," she says looking forward.
  149. <Vigilant_GM> Turning to Shiv, she adds, "The man tailing him moved in to see what was happening. A good man. Loyal."
  150. <Vigilant_GM> "He died this morning," she sighs.
  151. * Shiv looks down and says "I am sorry for your loss."
  152. <Vigilant_GM> She nods a thank-you. "Whoever did this was a professional. Markus would never have been taken by surprise by an amateur, a common criminal or thug."
  153. * Shiv gulps. He softly says "A Professional?"
  154. <Vigilant_GM> She nods. "The sort of man who could charge a small fortune for his work."
  155. <Vigilant_GM> "The reason you are here, Mr. Pettibon, is that I need to know who your enemies are on this Hive."
  156. <Shiv> "Enemies?" He looks over to Baird. "None that I am familiar with."
  157. * Baird steps forwards.
  158. <Vigilant_GM> "It is important that we work together, Pettibon. A man of business always has enemies."
  159. <Baird> "None as of yet mam, unless you count yourself as one. The Pettibon family isn't from around here and the young Mr. Pettibon has yet to begin his duties his father charged him with."
  160. <Baird> "More than likely it was someone after Roy. He's..different."
  161. <Baird> "A person with a particular gift. Which can be worth something to the right people to my understanding."
  162. <Vigilant_GM> "Perhaps an off-world competitor, then. Where /are/ you from, Mr. Pettibon?"
  163. <Shiv> "Snope's World, ma'am."
  164. <Vigilant_GM> She nods, "I will look into any operations out of Snope's World."
  165. <Vigilant_GM> "Now, what of this man's nature? Why would they be looking for him in particular?"
  166. <Baird> "I wish I could be specific mam, but given the situation I feel that would an unintelligent thing to do. I'm also sure that being in the business of trade you know what kind of 'special' people fetch high prices.
  167. <Baird> "'special' enough to warrant a professional of the caliber you have described. To not only subdue your man but ours and get away cleanly."
  168. <Vigilant_GM> "I understand,"
  169. <Vigilant_GM> She takes a seat, and motions for you to do the same.
  170. * Baird takes a seat.
  171. <Vigilant_GM> "My men are in the process of transporting someone we believe to be connected."
  172. * Shiv takes a seat after Baird.
  173. <Baird> "I will also say that naturally we don't advertise his nature. So it would be a safe bet that someone has eyes and ears inside the hotel at the very least."
  174. <Vigilant_GM> She laughs at this.
  175. <Vigilant_GM> "The place is rigged by the inch!"
  176. <Vigilant_GM> "Information carterls, no doubt."
  177. <Vigilant_GM> She points to different corners of the room. "But not in here. Signal jammers, you see."
  178. <Baird> "Of course it is. I was merely saying what I did, because I'm sure a person of your stature could..find that out easily I'd imagine. A potential lead is all. But you said your men are bringing someone."
  179. <Vigilant_GM> She nods, "We believe he was the driver in your friend's abduction."
  180. <Baird> "Odd. Witnesses told us of a struggle. But they left your man being hurt badly, as well as the fact that there was a vehicle involved." Bairds fists clench slightly, irritated that the witnesses had been unhelpful.
  181. <Vigilant_GM> "Not a friend of the abductor - he had been left to die in a sewage tank," she lights a lho-stick.
  182. <Vigilant_GM> "Disposable asset," she adds.
  183. <Baird> "I see."
  184. <Vigilant_GM> "As this concerns you, and as I see opportunity in future endeavors if we cooperate, I will allow you to be present for his interrogation."
  185. <Vigilant_GM> "For now, I will require you to find a suitable location for this... conversation to happen."
  186. <Baird> "That is greatly appreciated mam. Surely he can be brought in discreetly and with your...assets.." Baird nods towards the signal jammers. "Surely having the conversation here would be the most secure."
  187. <Vigilant_GM> She shakes her head.
  188. <Vigilant_GM> "I have appearances to keep up."
  189. <Vigilant_GM> "Interrogations are nasty business, as you will no doubt learn when your trade endeavors take off."
  190. <Baird> "Understandable. If you could install some of those in our suite, we could easily have the conversation there. Mr. Pettibon already has accrued a reputation and we were also seen about last evening actively searching for leads and such."
  191. <Vigilant_GM> "If you would take such a risk," she says looking at Shiv.
  192. <Shiv> "...Vestian is right. Our suite would be perfect provided we have the jammers."
  193. <Baird> "Well, I'll merely point out the reputation he has in your circles of 'friends'. It would be very easy to sell that, given what everyone already thinks."
  194. <Baird> "I honestly don't think it will get worse at this juncture, do you mam?"
  195. <Baird> "Short of something drastic. And as you've said these are commonplace once business takes off.
  196. <Baird> "He's knew to all this. He simply doesn't know any better I'd say."
  197. <Vigilant_GM> Exhaling a puff of her lho-stick, she says "The jammers can be installed today."
  198. <Baird> "Sounds as if we have a deal then mam."
  199. <Vigilant_GM> She nods. "A member of the Hostel staff will arrive after lunch. Let him in, and he will install the jammers."
  200. <Baird> "Understood."
  201. * Shiv nods.
  202.
  203.
  204.
  205. <Vigilant_GM> The silent emptiness slowly gives way to the stimulus of sound. An almost rythmic swaying, and the shuffling of footsteps.
  206. <Vigilant_GM> The sound never gains clarity, the taps of heels against floor muffle through on either side of you.
  207. <Vigilant_GM> The scraping and crackling of chain rings hollow, concussively, the sound engulfing you entirely.
  208. <Vigilant_GM> Gravity shifts as you are lifted, suddenly upright.
  209. <Vigilant_GM> Indistinct voices exchange words at some distance.
  210. <Vigilant_GM> You focus in on the voices, one you are certain belongs to your capturer. The other, a more feeble, higher-pitched sound.
  211. <Vigilant_GM> Footsteps approach again, and the mechanical clicks of a series of locks engulfs you before the face of the containment apparatus comes open.
  212. <Vigilant_GM> As the light floods in, you are blinded.
  213. <Vigilant_GM> Slowly, as your eyes adjust, you see your capturer's back. In front of him an aged woman with a frail frame, and curved spine.
  214. <Vigilant_GM> "He..." her voice dry and cracking, "he was to be unharmed!"
  215. <Vigilant_GM> "I assure you," he begins explaining as he turns to face his prize, "the wounds are superfi--" He takes four hurried steps toward the containment unit.
  216. <Vigilant_GM> "Damned fool..."
  217. <Vigilant_GM> He places his hand on Tony's neck.
  218. <Vigilant_GM> Then, firmly on his chest.
  219. <Vigilant_GM> He sighs, and turns to the woman again.
  220. <Vigilant_GM> "They are superficial," he repeats.
  221. <Vigilant_GM> "He attempted to end his life before the transfer. It is likely his constitution has yet to wear the sedative's effects of yet," he explains.
  222. <Vigilant_GM> "Now, payment."
  223. <Vigilant_GM> "There is something else," the croak-like voice begins, "which we would ask of you."
  224. <Vigilant_GM> "A separate contract, then. First, payment," he retorts with a low growl.
  225. <Vigilant_GM> "We can double it, if you will perform as we ask," she explains. "You reported that the Pariah belonged to a faction with whom we would not risk contact. You are to kill the Pariah's master."
  226. <Vigilant_GM> "Insane. I am a professional, not a zealot ready to die for your... cause."
  227. <Vigilant_GM> "Triple," she interjects.
  228. <Vigilant_GM> "Never met a wealthy corpse. Have you?"
  229. <Vigilant_GM> The woman begins walking towards Tony.
  230. <Vigilant_GM> "You are certain of his nature?"
  231. <Vigilant_GM> Before the man-hunter can answer, she stops dead in her tracks, and lets out something between a hiss and a cry of pain.
  232. <Vigilant_GM> She jolts back widening the distance between her and Tony.
  233. <Vigilant_GM> She waves over to a younger, beautiful woman, who brings a bag over.
  234. <Vigilant_GM> "Your... payment."
  235. <Vigilant_GM> "Think over our proposal, and name your price. You know how to find us," she adds.
  236. <Vigilant_GM> The man takes his payment and walks over to Tony, preparing a syringe.
  237. <Vigilant_GM> Clearing the excess from the tube, he steps forward, just a foot away from Tony.
  238. * Tony Begins to shift his back as he manages to free his arms behind his back
  239. * Tony As He leans forward quickly as he grabs the syringe and stabs his Captor.
  240. * Tony Injecting him with it
  241. <Vigilant_GM> "Agh! Fuck!" he exclaims punching Tony with one hand. He steps back, holding neck, a look of surprise and panic on his face.
  242. <Vigilant_GM> Seconds pass, and he falls limp on the floor.
  243. * Tony Quickly Grabs the Bolt Pistol and Aims it at her and fire
  244. <Vigilant_GM> She grips the charm around her neck, and begins an incantation as quickly as she can.
  245. <Vigilant_GM> The air around her becomes charged, the rags she wears begin to shift as though a gale were blowing.
  246. * Tony he walks over to the frail old Bolt Pistol in hand, as he aims it down at her
  247. <Tony> "Tell The Emperor I sent you"
  248. <Tony> *Semi fires into her*
  249. <Vigilant_GM> The old witch's chest is gored into itself, her neck almost detached from her body as a result.
  250. * Tony he Walks over to the Manhunter and semi fires into the Manhunter
  251. * Tony Grabs his ammo and begins to sweep the room to see where he is
  252. <Vigilant_GM> Blood and gore sends off Tony's captor. A woman's cry comes from a corner of the room, behind an upright book case.
  253. * Tony He walks over to near the Bookcase
  254. <Vigilant_GM> The beautiful young woman who brought in the man-hunter's payment sits on the floor, back against the wall, covering herself in a fetal pose.
  255. <Tony> "Lady, where in the frak am I?"
  256. <Tony> "Or Do I have to shot you too, you got 5 seconds to answer."
  257. <Tony> "1"
  258. <Tony> "2"
  259. <Tony> "3£
  260. <Vigilant_GM> Her arms come down, her eyes locking with Tony's.
  261. <Tony> "4"
  262. <Vigilant_GM> "Pariah!" she hisses, as books fly towards Tony.
  263. * Tony semi fires into her in quick response
  264. <Tony> "5"
  265. <Vigilant_GM> She, and the flying books fall on the floor at once.
  266. * Tony taking a moment to get an idea where he is be begins looking for a way out
  267. <Vigilant_GM> There are two doors. One on the opposite side of the book cases, the other a few meters behind the containment coffin.
  268. * Tony he Quickly checks for anything of note on the frail old woman, keys or anything of interest. Feeling the pressure on.
  269. <Vigilant_GM> An old tattered book, a silver charm around her neck, and a ring of keys are in her robes.
  270. * Tony grabs the items and makes his way to the door near the Bookcases.
  271. * Tony Opens the door and begins to try and slip his way out using the shadows evade what he can
  272. <Vigilant_GM> The door opens to a dimly-lit corridor. On the side opposite the lumen-globes, the wall opens up, overlooking a wide cathedral-like interior below.
  273. * Tony Begins to take the moment to scan the room for points of escape and threats.
  274. <Vigilant_GM> The narrow corridor leads to a door ahead. Overlooking the vast space below, a single man wielding makes it through the dark interior, lantern in hand.
  275. * Tony Stealthily making his way over to the door as he begins to slowly open the door as quietly as he can
  276. <Vigilant_GM> As the door opens, the hurried footsteps of at least two people echo about the chamber.
  277. * Tony leans back as he blends into the shadows waiting for the two to pass
  278. <Vigilant_GM> "I warned her... fucking mercenaries!" one hisses as he passes by Tony, his companion a few meters behind.
  279. <Vigilant_GM> One suddenly scrambles behind a desk, pulling his companion by the collar into cover with him.
  280. <Vigilant_GM> Something falls on the floor and rolls towards Tony.
  281. * Tony hears the roll, he brings to book it as fast as he can to try and get a way out

  283. * Tony as he begins to run as fast as he can
  284. * Tony Aiming try and escape
  285. <Vigilant_GM> Projectiles fly through the air, striking a meter away from Tony as he tries to make his escape.
  286. * Tony runs up and smashes the Window with his Bolt Pistol and looks out to see if there is anywhere he can start climbing out.
  287. <Vigilant_GM> Wherever you are, it is the location of an abandoned imperial chapel. Outside, a handful of people walk the narrow streets. The gothic protrusions of the chapel provide for some leverage, if you are willing to risk the old rock-crete's brittle integrity on a climb down.
  288. * Tony Seeing a good way out he goes for it.
  289. <Vigilant_GM> Tony finds firm footing across the ledges, defaced gargoyles, protruding Imperial Saint figures, and metal spikes, arriving at a small landing where an imperial Aquila was once mounted. From here, a gap's leap would place him on the roof of an adjacent building.
  290. <Vigilant_GM> Below, the howl of a beast is followed by the calls of several men searching for their assailant.
  291. * Tony He steadies himself and makes a leap of faith, as he faith speak truth and makes it to the Adjacent building
  292. <Vigilant_GM> Utilizing all the available space, Tony's form flies across the gap to the building across the street. Its brittle roofing absorbs much of the impact of his landing in the form of cracked tiles, but his footing remains firm and true.
  293. * Tony Taking a quick breath, He does not hesitate and begins to look for anything to help in his getaway
  294. <Vigilant_GM> Some thirty meters away, a highway overpass turns, coming very close to another of the rooftops.
  295. * Tony Seeing no other way and the crazies on high alert he keeps going on
  296. <Vigilant_GM> With one final leap, Tony grips the overpass rails, pulling himself up onto safety.
  297. * Tony Once up he takes a moment to gather his breath
  298. <Tony> "Oh my Emperor, I.. I am alive...*Sigh*"
  299. <Tony> "I need to get back to the Hotel"
  300. <Vigilant_GM> The highway overpass leads upward.
  301. <Tony> "No where but up from here."
  302. * Tony Begins to try and find his way back being wary as he can
  303. <Vigilant_GM> Two hours of walking finally take you to a noisy portion of the hive. A thriving community, in truth.
  304. <Tony> "... finall..y somewhere slightly safe"
  305. <Vigilant_GM> Its inhabitants take part in trade, and the streets remain relatively safe.
  306. <Vigilant_GM> Interestingly, nearly all have come sort of cybernetic implant.
  307. <Vigilant_GM> some*
  308. * Tony Begins to look around for some small transport, he could buy with his totally stolen money
  309. <Vigilant_GM> A street urchin approaches Tony.
  310. <Vigilant_GM> He bumps into him, "Oh, apologies sir!"
  311. <Tony> "Hold up, Kid"
  312. <Vigilant_GM> He stops a few meters away, and turns.
  313. <Tony> "Do you know where I can find a Auto Carriage Shop?"
  314. <Vigilant_GM> "Maybe I do, maybe I don't," he says extending an open palm out.
  315. <Tony> me/ He Reaches into his pocket to grabs some Scrip for the kid.
  316. * Tony Reaches into his Pocket to grab some scrip for the kid
  317. <Tony> "I am sure you do kid."
  318. <Vigilant_GM> He grins, nodding with approval.
  319. <Vigilant_GM> He waves you to follow, and skips along down the main avenue.
  320. * Tony He walks following the kid, still awry from earlier.
  321. <Vigilant_GM> "We're going to go see the Brassmen mechanic, Tyko."
  322. * Tony Passes him another scrip
  323. <Vigilant_GM> "He's going to like you!"
  324. <Vigilant_GM> Well-armed men in heavy industrial garb, in very showy cybernetics become a commonality further down this avenue.
  325. <Vigilant_GM> The style of dress isn't something you have seen elsewhere in Desoleum.
  326. <Vigilant_GM> As you make your way down, to a man, hands drop to weapon grips as you are spotted.
  327. <Tony> "Woah Woah, take it easy, take it easy, I just want to do business."
  328. * Tony Putting his hand up gesturing he means no harm
  329. <Vigilant_GM> "Hey, Silverface!" the urchin calls out to a man who, indeed, has adorned half of his face with metallic silver paint.
  330. <Vigilant_GM> The man turns, though his eyes are fixed on you rather than the source of the call.
  331. <Vigilant_GM> "Got a friend here to see Tyko!"
  332. <Vigilant_GM> "Yeah? How friendly?"
  333. <Vigilant_GM> "Very friendly!" he tugs you forward by the forearm.
  334. * Tony pulls out a bit of scrip and offers it to Sliverface, I had a hard day, I am sure you would like a drink have this on me."
  335. <Vigilant_GM> He grunts, but accepts your bribe and nods you through.
  336. <Vigilant_GM> Inside, the warehouse is full of a dozen vehicles being tuned, repaired, and apparently - built.
  337. <Vigilant_GM> Servitors of odd and deviant pattern are put to work across the workshop. A single man with a heavily augmeticized arm dismounts a vehicle's exhaust system.
  338. <Vigilant_GM> He pauses, and all servitors come to a stop.
  339. <Vigilant_GM> He looks up at you.
  340. <Vigilant_GM> "Far from home?"
  341. <Tony> "More of a Rough day, But I heard from a friend of yours, that you have some vehicles I will need."
  342. <Vigilant_GM> He laughs.
  343. <Vigilant_GM> "No offense, stranger, but these machines are not cheap."
  344. <Tony> "How much?"
  345. <Vigilant_GM> "More expensive than a shirt, boy."
  346. <Vigilant_GM> His servitors resume their work.
  347. <Tony> "Puts the bag down on a nearby table, will this be enough to rent one then?"
  348. * Tony Put the bag down on a nearby table
  349. <Tony> "Will this be enough to rent one then?"
  350. <Vigilant_GM> "Ha!"
  351. <Vigilant_GM> He walks forward.
  352. <Vigilant_GM> "Plenty. Plenty, keep half for yourself. You look like you need it."
  353. <Vigilant_GM> "Silverface will come with you, bring her back in a couple of days."
  354. <Tony> "Got you, has been a pleasure Tyko."
  355. <Vigilant_GM> "Don't dent her. We'll find you," he says with a wink.
  356. <Tony> "I won't not to worry I will be seeing you around sometime then."
  357. <Vigilant_GM> "Good luck."
