Frank Martin puts the driving gloves on to deliver Valentina, the kidnapped daughter of a Ukrainian government official, from Marseilles to Odessa on the Black Sea. En route, he has to contend with thugs who want to intercept Valentina&#39;s safe delivery and not let his personal feelings get in the way of his dangerous objective.
Toxic waste bubbles in a ship waiting permission to dock in Odessa. Frank Martin turns down a job in Marseilles, referring it to a pal. A short time later, the pal, wounded by gunfire, crashes his car into Frank&#39;s living room and dies, leaving a young woman in the back seat. The employer of the dead man shows up, forces Frank to take the job, snaps a bracelet on his wrist that will explode if Frank gets more than 75 feet from his car, and sends Frank on a journey east with the young woman and a trunk full of something. She&#39;s Valentina, nearly mute. Can Frank figure out what&#39;s going on, deliver the package, and escape alive? And what does the ship have to do with it?
Okay, but not up to the earlier films, continuation of the story of Frank Martin, the Transporter.<br/><br/>The plot has Frank taking the place of a friend for a job he turned down. The friend was killed and Frank is pressed into service driving a young lady to the Ukraine. It seems some powerful people want the girls dad, a Minster, to sign an agreement allowing them to pollute the country. To make sure that the job is done Frank and the girl have bracelets which will explode if they get too far from the car.<br/><br/>Good action sequences get lost in a muddled plot line, we&#39;re not told the girl is the Minister&#39;s daughter until over an hour in (though we suspect) and little is explained until it has to be. Its all a mystery that is too simple to be much of a mystery. Frankly you&#39;d have to never have seen a move or read a story not to be way ahead of the characters. Worse, the villains are rather stupid coming up with a needlessly complex plot involving driving the girl across Europe when all one need do id grab her and hold her.The willingness to kill people runs counter to what should be a quiet operation. But I&#39;m thinking about things and its clear that the filmmakers weren&#39;t. The film also has a pacing problem with the forward motion stopping for a strip tease by Statham and other things. (Pacing is a problem for director Olivier Megaton who&#39;s earlier films, including Exit, ramble a bit too much) <br/><br/>Enjoyable in a mindless action sort of way, this film is ultimately a huge disappointment for the franchise and as a film from producer Luc Besson. Still I know I will be watching it when it hits cable, and I am hopeful that the film makes enough money to bring Frank back in another and much better adventure.
Bad. Bad movie. The action was there, but the writing was terrible. I was peeved at the chick throughout this movie, stupid dancing and always looking around like a lost bird, until I realized that it really isn&#39;t her fault... she wasn&#39;t really given anything to work with... the plot just didn&#39;t make sense to me at all! The motivation for the characters made zero sense.... the bad guy ALREADY HAD THE GIRL... why did she need transporting UNTIL THE DEMANDS WERE MET?!? I mean, stoooooooo pid! Nothing really happened in this movie. Bad guy wants to transport waste, so he kidnaps girl. Chase is on. That&#39;s about it. Sad. I really enjoyed the previous 2 movies and was looking foreward to this one, but what a letdown. This is destined for late night basic cable.... sad.
For those disappointed in the grim, gritty feel of the latest James Bond movie and who long for the absurdity of the Roger Moore-era entries, Transporter 3, ought to fit the bill.
