  2. Are sharks cannibalistic?
  3. Depends if they are vegetarian or not.
  4. While no species includes its own species as part of its own food chain, shark are frequently known to eat each other. This may happen almost accidentally, as part of a feeding frenzy, and it also certainly happens over territorial disputes among
  5. benthic
  6. sharks. Sharks also attack and eat those of their species which are sick or weak. There are even records of shark in the womb attacking their birthmates.
  7. Sharks (like the great white, mako, tiger, and hammerhead) are swift predators that eat fish, squid, other sharks, and marine mammals Occasionally, a group of sharks will attack a food source (for example, a school of fish) in a maniacal fashion. They will wildly attack the food and anything in the area, even each other, sometimes wounding or eating fellow sharks Mother grey nurse sharks do not feed their babies in utero because there is no umbilical cord connecting the two. So, to survive, the growing babies eat their younger siblings until there's only one pup left in each of the mother's two uteri. "It's inter-uterine cannibalism,"
  8. some kinds of sharks it there babys if there hungry
  9. Sometimes. Not all types of sharks do, but during a feeding frenzy this could happen, and some bigger sharks like bull sharks and great white sharks prey on smaller sharks.
  10. Great hammerhead sharks are known to be cannibalistic.
  11. Sharks will eat pretty much anything they can sink their teeth into. License plates, dogs, pigs, whales, fish, dolphins, turtles... humans. But the three main man-eating sharks are Tiger, Great White, and Bull sharks.

  16. Are pagans cannibalistic?
  17. no, pagans do not eat people ANSWER! NO, Pagans and all the branches of Pagans do not eat people! It is against the very essence of the religion. For example the Wiccan Rede says "And ye HARM NONE do as ye will" and it says "What ye sends forth comes back to thee so ever mind the law of three" So no, Wiccans and pagans and such don't eat people. Yes there is a history of sacrifice (animal) but Pagans don't eat people. And it was only a select group that practised sacrifice, and we were not the only religion. Many have done worse. Greek, Roman, Egyptian, and other polythiestic religions. It's entirely possible that some pagan tribes in South America or elsewhere might be cannibalistic, but you wont find that in the civilized world.
  18. Is the mating ritual of the orchid mantis cannibalistic?
  19. The praying mantis in the wild is not usually cannibalistic as part of the mating ritual. It is only in captivity that they turn cannibal. One of the reasons for this is that in captivity, they are often not given a sufficient amount of food to support the egg case.. To prevent mantis mating cannibalism, you need to feed the female on a high protein diet before, during and after mating. This also ensures a good strong ootheca. High protein levels can be found in various catepillars (eg Wax worms) and in mealworms.. Feeding while mating can be achieved by dangling a worm by fishing wire in front of the female before the male mounts.

  34. Are wolves cannibalistic?
  35. NO! They don't eat their own kind. They eat sick or old elk, deer, and other animals. They actually help the environment by gettingrid of the sick and old animals. They can also be scavengers andfeed off of carcasses. They aren't cannibals. :) INCORRECT. The guy who made the first answer is wrong, no offenseto him. Wolves have and do commit cannibalism, it isn't reallyuncommon. Wolves cannibalize pack mates after they are killed byother wolves or die for other reasons, there has been a record of 6month-old cubs eating their parents after being killed in a fight. So yes wolves ARE cannibals. INCORRECT. Although a starving pack MAY resort to cannibalism, wolves rarely feed on other wolves, ESPECIALLY, their deceasedfamily members. If you have proof, please show us a link, because Idoubt such a grisly and unnecessary thing would take place betweenpups and parents. In conclusion, even if wolves DO resort tocannibalism once in a while, that does NOT make them cannibals. Nooffense. No, they only eat sick or injured animals like elk and deer. Theyhelp the environment by taking away these animals that aresuffering.
