  1. [01:24] The mountain grew silent in Zendrick's absence. No Nethradin, no Vampires, not even his sister was present. Dawn had caught wind of his location, and now Aspen had disappeared again.
  2.
  3. Above his head, the Sword of Damocles hung. Death followed his footsteps, awaiting his next mistake. The world itself seemed determined to end Zendrick's life.
  4.
  5. He could no longer delay, or make any more mistakes. Not while those who hunted him still lived, and those he still cared for stayed in dange-
  6.
  7. He heard the rushing of wind to his right. Aspen entered his view.
  8.
  9. "Where have you been? I've been looking for you!"
  10. (Zendrick Boreale)
  11. [01:32] A rush of blood broke through minor self-inflicted injuries around the Invidia's skin, surrounding her. Akin to Lugonqi's own, small wings formed of her blood, flapping in order to keep herself above ground. Although it didn't help much, she managed to manipulate the gravity around herself, floating a few inches above ground. The work was tiring enough with using those abilities yet-
  12.
  13. What she worked with mattered not as she trekked through the northern regions in search of her brother, with whom followed in her wake, locating him in the usual location of the peak after searching through the cabin he oft hid out in.
  14.
  15. "I've been stuck in Dawn. There's a lot going on that we need to talk about, Zendrick."
  16.
  17. The woman's wandering eyes glanced around, specifically behind herself as she stepped off towards him to offer a drink. "Alcohol and a discussion is in order between us." An indication of something, perhaps, or the typical, casual discussions the duo had together.
  18.
  19. "I'd like to view your progress with Riftmancy and discuss ways to summon more into the mountain for our projects." With those words, she produce vodka, offering it to him. A grin adorned the Invidia's features. "Here. We both could use one."
  20. (Aspen Invidia)
  21. [01:34] Zendrick Boreale says, "I'll have to pass, I was about to practice before you came here. "
  22. [01:34] Zendrick Boreale says, "Maybe a little later. "
  23. [01:34] Aspen Invidia says, "Oh? Aye."
  24. [01:35] Zendrick Boreale says, "Just give me a second, this test'll be over soon. "
  25. [01:36] Zendrick Boreale says, "After this, I want to try out that bathouse in the Vampire settlement. "
  26. [01:36] Aspen Invidia says, "It's urgent, Zendrick."
  27. [01:36] Zendrick Boreale says, "Urgent? "
  28. [01:36] Aspen Invidia says, "Ah, yes, I've been meaning to use that myself but.."
  29. [01:36] Aspen Invidia says, "Anna gave away where you are."
  30. [01:36] Zendrick Boreale says, "What's so urg-"
  31. [01:36] Aspen Invidia says, "She's dead."
  32. [01:37] Aspen Invidia says, "That's not the worst of the news I've come to bring you though."
  33. [01:39] His hands freeze. The preparation for Riftmancy grinds to a halt as time itself stands still.
  34.
  35. His Blood Pall flows, swaddling his body like a protective covering. His mask hides his face, but his eyes reveal the pain he feels.
  36.
  37. "Not... Not again..."
  38.
  39. He turns to Aspen. A mix of anger and sadness emanated from his body.
  40.
  41. "What else?"
  42. (Zendrick Boreale)
  43. [01:41] A chilly presence moves around Zendrick. Soon enough, however, there is a characteristic, oppressive presence reeling in around Aspen's sibling. From behind his back, perhaps he can feel just a soft, warm wind; Someone's breath, lurking up from behind.
  44.
  45. One hand moves towards his shoulder.
  46.
  47. "Shhh..."
  48. (Alastor G. Vishkar)
  49. [01:45] "I'm sorry, Zendrick.." She states, gritting down on her teeth and clenching her fists. For those who followed in the floating Invidia's wake may leave their marks in the snow, yet wind magic conjures up, guiding flurries of the flakes falling to cover every footstep formed that she spots behind her.
  50.
  51. The indication was obvious by now as tears from Aspen begin shedding. "We're all here for you," she responds to his inquiry, beating the small, bloodied wings against the airs of Baukengrad and backing away slowly from his position.
  52.
  53. "I'm so sorry.." A sorrowful mien breaks through her seriousness after disclosing Anna's demise, Aspen failed to mention Sors' action of bringing her back in undeath. A hand raises to cover her mouth, muffling her audible cries.
  54.
  55. "This isn't what I wanted."
  56. (Aspen Invidia)
  57. [01:49] The moment Zendrick hears the alien voice, he slips into a blood-mist. The entirety of his form vanishes for a split-second, only to reappear a few meters away.
  58.
  59. He looked at Aspen, his sister. The only person left in this world who he loved. His own family.
  60.
  61. She had betrayed him. Brought the Eternal of Dawn to his doorstep, and had tried to poison him. The person who had saved her life multiple times, who he gave the greatest of kindnesses.
  62.
  63. She has betrayed you.
  64.
  65. Her attempts at concealment were finally noted. She brought them here to kill him.
  66.
  67. She was your sister. You loved her.
  68.
  69. Zendrick is breathing heavily. The visible lines on his body glow an incandescent red. Ten swords spiraled from his body, with Zendrick wielding two in each hand.
  70.
  71. "Y-You... Why?"
  72.
  73. Does it really matter? You'll die here.
  74.
  75. He knew that Death followed him. That it would strike at his next mistake.
  76.
  77. He simply didn't account for the love of his family to be it.
  78. (Zendrick Boreale)
  79. [01:52] Danger. Aspen was in grave danger, and it could've been avoided with one brief kill-- Heavy footfall marred the snow, leaving large inhuman footprints. From his flank, the telltale noise of a sword drawn from it's sheathe reverberated..
  80.
  81. All the while a pair of luminous scarlet eyes floated eerily above the snow..
  82.
  83. "You will not hurt her.. while I live." That familiar voice ran out, given their extensive history? Zendrick would immediately recognize the booming tone, reminiscing back to a time where they were friends-- Where Zendrick posed a challenge nearly every day.
  84.
  85. The potion would dissipate of it's own accord.. revealing an enraged and overprotective vampire.
  86. (Vedran Ivanovich)
  87. [01:58] A small chuckle at the releasing of bloody mist, at the collapse. The swords of blood formed around his body, and yet, it seemed that there was no reply from the world besides that chuckle. At the revealing vampire, the Oscuri continued invisible still, the laughter suddenly ending.
  88.
  89. And then, the sound of a sword unsheathing. A brief droplet of blood, accompanied of a green tint comes off. "Hello there, Zendrick. Long time without seeing you. Good to know you've trailed on Annie's footsteps- A complete and utter disappointment."
  90.
  91. "You really decided to amplify that aspect." His skin slowly appeared from the invisible form that spread through the snow. "Now, Zendrick. I believe you understand why and when this all started, don't you?"
  92.
  93. "And I believe you remember how much I hate being disappointed."
  94. (Alastor G. Vishkar)
  95. [01:59] Zendrick Boreale says, "...And you, Vedran? "
  96. [02:00] "Honestly, Zendrick, I am disappointed in you...So much potential, thrown away-- For what?" The snow in the area seems to grow wet and slowly melt as heat gathers around Zendrick. "And to put your sister in this position...You piece of shit. My brother did this to me too, and I had to watch him die. Did you not see it? Ruhiel's demise? And now here we stand, no lesson being learned.."
  97.
  98. Boots step through the snow, her form shimmering as reality distorts around the Chaos magi's form. "You betray your friends, your family...And now you're here, hurting someone for the last time. All for WHAT Zendrick? What was this all for? Pride, power, greed? You and Anna both...God, it makes me sick too. How people immediately wanted your head, how they felt no remorse for it at all."
  99.
  100. Laughing softly, the woman twitches some. "We could'a been friends...I could'a taught you Riftmancy...But, could'a, would'a, should'a, huh?"
  101. (Josephine Dusk)
  102. [02:00] Vedran Ivanovich says, "Her life was at stake--.. I refuse to let her die."
  103. [02:00] Zendrick Boreale says, "No. I was abandoned. By all of you. "
  104. [02:00] Zendrick Boreale says, "You made me into this. You left me to rot."
  105. [02:01] Zendrick Boreale says, "Left to the wayside. Told to fix my own problems on my own. "
  106. [02:01] Alastor G. Vishkar asks, "Abandoned?"
  107. [02:01] Alastor G. Vishkar asks, "Left to rot?"
  108. [02:01] Alastor G. Vishkar asks, "You want to know what would be me abandoning you, Zendrick?"
  109. [02:02] Alastor G. Vishkar says, "It'd have been telling them they had the authorization to execute you when you made trouble for the second time."
  110. [02:03] Zendrick Boreale says, "You should have. Because I'll tell you a secret, Alastor. "
  111. [02:03] Zendrick Boreale says, "I fought Fethi expecting to die. "
  112. [02:03] Josephine Dusk says, "Euuuugh."
  113. [02:03] Vedran Ivanovich says, "But instead you killed him.."
  114. [02:03] Josephine Dusk says, "OH shut up."
  115. [02:03] Josephine Dusk exclaims, "Zendrick, are you for REAL?!"
  116. [02:03] Vedran Ivanovich says, "For your own gain."
  117. [02:03] Zendrick Boreale says, "You know the reason, Vedran. "
  118. [02:03] Alastor G. Vishkar says, "I can't believe it."
  119. [02:03] Zendrick Boreale says, "The /Real/ reason. "
  120. [02:03] Alastor G. Vishkar says, "He is actually THIS dumb."
  121. [02:03] Alastor G. Vishkar asks, "Yeah, yeah, Malentine and some bullshit, am I right?"
  122. [02:04] Alastor G. Vishkar exclaims, "It's always him!"
  123. [02:04] Vedran Ivanovich says, "Aye-- Fer' Malentine's training, we all know."
  124. [02:04] Vedran Ivanovich says, "Aye."
  125. [02:04] Josephine Dusk says, "Zendrick, you moron..."
  126. [02:04] Josephine Dusk says, "God, I could'a trained you."
  127. [02:04] Josephine Dusk says, "But no.."
  128. [02:05] Alastor G. Vishkar says, "Now. This is the moment where you might think that it was just a very long stroke of bad luck."
  129. [02:05] Alastor G. Vishkar asks, "But, looking from where I am?"
  130. [02:05] Zendrick Boreale says, "No. I deserve this. "
  131. [02:05] Alastor G. Vishkar says, "This was rigged from the start."
  132. [02:05] Josephine Dusk says, "..."
  133. [02:05] Vedran Ivanovich says, ". . . Shut the fuck up with yer' dumb quotes, Alastor."
  134. [02:06] Zendrick Boreale says, "I've killed. Betrayed the "family" that I was given. "
  135. [02:06] Vedran Ivanovich says, "Worst of all.. you put Aspen within' harm's way."
  136. [02:06] Vedran Ivanovich says, "She would've risked everythin' to save you."
  137. [02:06] Zendrick Boreale asks, "So she tries to poison me?"
  138. [02:06] Alastor G. Vishkar exclaims, "She did try!"
  139. [02:06] Zendrick Boreale asks, "Reveals where I am to Dawn?"
  140. [02:06] Vedran Ivanovich exclaims, "She did multiple times!"
  141. [02:06] Vedran Ivanovich says, "You were the selfish one.."
  142. [02:06] Josephine Dusk says, "She tried to protect her piece of shit brother.."
  143. [02:06] Josephine Dusk says, "Who, for his own gain, caused problems for her."
  144. [02:06] Alastor G. Vishkar says, "The one who revealed where you are was Anna."
  145. [02:07] Vedran Ivanovich says, "Loyal to no-one in the end."
  146. [02:07] Alastor G. Vishkar exclaims, "Now she's loyal to Sors!"
  147. [02:07] Vedran Ivanovich exclaims, "I wasn't gonna' mention that one!"
  148. [02:07] Josephine Dusk says, "Still have mixed feelings about that.."
  149. [02:08] Vedran Ivanovich says, "Anna Utolwhatever"
  150. [02:08] Alastor G. Vishkar says, "Doesn't matter."
  151. [02:08] Josephine Dusk says, "Ultovex."
  152. [02:09] Vedran Ivanovich says, "Whatever.."
  153. [02:09] Josephine Dusk asks, "It's...My last name seems less edgy compared to that, huh?"
  154. [02:09] Alastor G. Vishkar says, "Hey."
  155. [02:09] Alastor G. Vishkar says, "But you know, Zendrick."
  156. [02:09] Alastor G. Vishkar says, "We have to give you one last chance."
  157. [02:09] Alastor G. Vishkar says, "Come closer, and prove to us that you're not a complete disappointment."
  158. [02:09] Alastor G. Vishkar says, "I want your whole arm."
  159. [02:09] Alastor G. Vishkar says, "Right here, in front of me."
  160. [02:10] Zendrick Boreale says, "If you want it, you'll have to take it. "
  161. [02:10] Vedran Ivanovich says, "<This bitch broke formation.>"
  162. [02:10] Josephine Dusk says, "...Mhh, I always loved it when someone stood their ground."
  163. [02:11] Josephine Dusk says, "Good on you, jackass. "
  164. [02:11] Zendrick Boreale says, "Will you simply overpower me with numbers? Or can I at least get the pleasure of a fair fight. "
  165. [02:12] Josephine Dusk says, "Fair fight-- if anyone agrees to that, I am shooting you."
  166. [02:12] Vedran Ivanovich asks, "Mmn.. didn't you try that trick with Fethi?"
  167. [02:12] Vedran Ivanovich says, "Got 'im killed."
  168. [02:12] Zendrick Boreale says, "Trick? "
  169. [02:12] Zendrick Boreale says, "I gave my terms. He could've simply sicced the rest of you on me and brought me back. "
  170. [02:16] Tears welled up in the Invidia's eyes rather quickly. Aspen's head tilted downward, aiming to muffle her audible cries further. The situation at hand was far too difficult that the protective sibling had to face. The forthcoming onslaught of her brother.
  171.
  172. The formation of the blood wings increased some, battling harder against the wings, aiming to raise her up higher with increased manipulation of gravity to make the task easier.
  173.
  174. Each of the three that stood before her revealed her protectiveness for Zendrick. The woman's attempts to trade even herself and her assistance to Alastor to grant mercy on her brother, or work at convince him for this situation not to occur proved fruitless.
  175.
  176. An overwhelming emotional twist. The realization that she was losing someone she loved, her brother, fell hard on her conscious mind, washing in an unbearable, insufferable guilt.
  177.
  178. More blood prodded through the broken skin around her visible flesh, bubbling around her form, transforming into the wings of mana and blood, aiming to keep the sibling risen in the air- pushing herself higher. A tiring feat- albeit momentarily where Aspen neared the trio before her and settle herself on the ground.
  179.
  180. The blood reformed around herself, ridding the wings. Her focus? Pushing through the trio, or getting the ground to go around them for Zendrick. Not for the purpose of assaulting, but to embrace him one last time.
  181. (Aspen Invidia)
