Xiaomi overtakes Apple to become second-largest smartphone maker in Q2 2021

NEW DELHI: Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi overtook Apple as the second-largest smartphone maker in the world in the second quarter of 2020, said a report by market research firm Canalys.

The company’s shipments in the Latin American, African, and Western European regions grew 300%, 150%, and 50%, respectively, over the last year, said Ben Stanton, research manager at Canalys.
