[08:22] <Tazzari> [04:57] <Claire> "So do the rest of us, Roomie." She pats Tazzari on the back again. "I mean...think about it. Without a barrier I have the potential to knock down *buildings*. That's kinda scary, too, but that's why we're here, right? Well...okay, I mean at the academy, not HERE here."
[08:23] <Tazzari> She nods slowly. "...I do deserve to be here... For now..."
[08:25] * Claire shakes her head with a wry little smile. "You know what I think? You might be a little right...but you have all of us here too, on your side, and I'm sure we'd all tell the same thing--that normally you wouldn't dream of hurting someone. And I think when they see you're willing to beat yourself up harder than any punishment they can throw at you...and that we were *kind* of in some, ah, extenuating circumstances..."
[08:26] <Claire> "...well, maybe they'll have a little leniency."
[08:27] <Tazzari> Tazzari sniffles a bit, looking up to smile at Claire... And then hugging her tightly again. "...Thank you..."
[08:30] <Claire> She hugs Tazzari back. "Nothing to thank me for. It's what any of us would do for each other, right? Oh, and one more thing."
[08:31] <Tazzari> "...Mm?"
[08:35] <Claire> She looks Tazzari square in the eye. "You have *no idea* how happy it made me when you said that you had a sister. I know things haven't been perfect for you...but I'm just so damn glad..." She trails off, starting to sniffle herself.
[08:36] <Tazzari> Tazzari blinks away tears... And murmurs. "...Not just one. Um... Seven..." She sniffles again... And then leans into Claire's shoulder, hugging again.
[08:38] * Claire giggles. "Seven! Your family's growing every other sentence."
[08:40] <Tazzari> She blushes at that. "I, um... I still need to meet the other six, um..."
[08:41] <Claire> "Well, just one face-to-face is a good start, right?"
[08:43] <Tazzari> "...Yeah." She smiles again. "...It was really nice. Um..."
[08:44] <Claire> "Um? Is there a caveat? It was really nice but she was still scary?" she teases.
[08:45] <Tazzari> "N-no! Not scary at all, um... She, um..." She blushes, looking down and hugging Claire some more.
[08:45] <Claire> "She...is going to install a modulator in your computer to iron out those verbal tics?"
[08:46] <Tazzari> "No!" Tazzari looks up at Claire with a little frown. "...Mean..."
[08:47] * Claire sticks her tongue out. "It sounds like you were trying to go on, I have to coax it out of you SOMEhow."
[08:48] <Tazzari> She smiles a little at that. "...She told me, um... Well, um... That I could... Be like her... And my other sisters... Um. Help the TSAB... But I need to, um... I need to know how to, um..."
[08:49] <Claire> She ponders for a second. "You need to know...how to actually handle your combat cyborg abilities?" Her tone's a little more serious.
[08:49] <Tazzari> A slow nod. "...Yeah..."
[08:53] <Claire> She nods as well. "I think she's right, too, y'know. That doesn't mean you have to LIKE using them," she adds, tapping Tazzari on the nose, "but you can't be afraid of them all the time. I know I don't really know what it's like, but..."
[08:57] <Tazzari> She nods... And looks up at Claire, seeming nervous. "...Um. Do my hair and eyes look okay? Um... Being purple? I... I thought I might stop, um, hiding them..."
[09:00] <Claire> "Of course they do. Come on--have you SEEN some of the other people at our school? Purple's not all that shocking. I like the color. And you know who else is going to, I think?" That glint of mischief is back in her eyes.
[09:01] <Tazzari> "...Um... Who?"
[09:03] <Claire> The look turns flat. "Tazzari. Who else would I be talking about? Maybe...your girlfriend?" She draws out the last word, leadingly, like she's trying to get Tazzari to say it with her.
[09:04] <Tazzari> "...Oh." Tazzari blushes, looking down.
[09:06] <Claire> "Chin up, silly. She already thought you being half-robot"--she grins at the tease--"was the coolest thing in the world. Imagine her reaction when she finds out you're starting to maybe possibly not be so against it."
[09:07] <Tazzari> "...You think she'll, um..." Tazzari pauses. "...This is what she's been telling me to do for, um... forever. Isn't it?"
[09:09] <Claire> "All of us, I think, to a certain extent, but yeah, she has." She takes Tazzari's hand in hers. "Look. I know you had your reasons, so I'm not going to sit here and tell you I told you so. But I honestly think the path you're on now is better for you, for her, for everyone."
[09:10] <Tazzari> Another slow nod. "...I'll, um... Try to remember that..."
[09:11] <Claire> "Good girl." She pats Tazzari on the head. "So, on to different topics...did they come do your interrogation yet?"
[09:12] <Tazzari> She nods. "Yeah... I, um, presented a report based on my, um, combat log..."
[09:13] <Claire> She grins. "Man, that's gotta be handy...I hope it counts, too, 'cause my device is shot right now, so they can't get the recorded data off it. Good thing I sent Enforcer Maddalen a copy first."
[09:14] <Tazzari> "...If, um, they could let me look at it... I might be able to help?"
[09:15] <Claire> She nods. "I don't actually know how bad off it is, other than the Enforcers can't seem to get it operational. Provisional Enforcer Ivory told me it was stuck after having a huge amount of data shoved through it, like a cyberattack. Like someone we know."
[09:17] <Tazzari> Tazzari sends Ivory a ping, asking if she could have a look at it. "...Mneme... Oh! I... I had to tell them I didn't have any proof, um, it was her..."
[09:17] <Ikiryo> An AR window appears on the wall near them. [From: Ivory - Just a moment]
[09:18] <Claire> "Yeah, same here. I mean, there was her *voice* on my recorded data, but pretty much everything I told Miss Ivory was that I had only suspicions, no proof--at least, in terms of who was behind all this. I mean, Atalanta Epsilon DID tell me earlier that Mneme and someone else put together their whole mission, but..."
[09:18] <Claire> "That's kinda 'taking the word of an enemy combatant' for lack of a better term."
[09:19] <Ikiryo> A moment later, a knock happens at the door.
[09:19] <Tazzari> ...She lets out a little sniffle. "...Mneme murdered one of her own... It's horrible... I thought we'd stopped her, but..."
[09:19] <Tazzari> "Ah, come in!"
[09:20] <Ikiryo> The door opens, revealing Ivory holding Claire's device. She gives a small, off-center smile "I rather hope I shan't have to arrest you for destruction of evidence after this."
[09:21] * Claire giggles a little. "I promise it would only be on accident~"
[09:22] <Ikiryo> "Still, I'd rather not." She hands it over to Claire. "Would you rather I wait outside until you are done?"
[09:22] <Tazzari> "...I'll be careful..." Tazzari mumbles, reaching out to take it... And taking a deep breath, as there's a 'Click' from her neck, the three cables snaking out, weaving through the air to settle against the device as she rests it in her lap. The ends of the cable take a moment, flickering purple... And then seem to sink seamlessly into the device, pale purple light shining from the gaps between
[09:22] <Tazzari> components, Tazzari's eyes echoing the glow.
[09:23] <Claire> She nods. "If that's okay with you, sure. I'm all for taking as few chances as possible."
[09:24] <Ikiryo> She nods and steps outside, the door closing behind her.
[09:32] <Tazzari> "...I'm not sure what this is, but... Maybe..." She involves Claire in the next message. [Enforcer Ivory? Do you know, um, if the TSAB has any computer systems capable of running an SI? I know Intelligent Device cores aren't common...]
[09:33] <Claire> "...SI? What's tha--wait. No way." Her eyes grow wide. "No. Way."
[09:33] <Tazzari> "...It might not be... And it's so fragmented, um... But... You were taking data in the fight, um... And if the SI had lost its body to Mneme, it might have looked for a way out..."
[09:34] <Ikiryo> [...not on site. We could order something in...but it would take a few days unless you know someone to borrow one from. Why?]
[09:34] <Claire> Her head thunks against the wall as she leans back on Tazzari's bed, eyes vacant.
[09:35] <Tazzari> [...Um. I think the data on Claire's device might be, um... The SI. Maybe. I can't, um, think of what else in the battle would upload this data... It's, um, not a cyberattack.]
[09:35] <Tazzari> [...And, um. I might know someone with the systems to handle it...]
[09:35] <Ikiryo> [Interesting. If that's true, the tech department wasn't able to work it out. They had no clue what was going on with it.]
[09:36] <Tazzari> [...I used my IS... It lets me, um, interface with technology... I could try hosting it... Or, um...] Tazzari appends Sephia's contact details.
[09:37] <Ikiryo> [If you want, I can open up a contact link for you to this person.]
[09:37] <Tazzari> [...Sure. Thank you.]
[09:38] <Ikiryo> Another AR display appears, calling. It takes a bit to go through but before long, Sephia's face appears on the display. "Yes?" She looks a bit flushed and blue lipstick can be seen on her neck.
[09:39] <Tazzari> ...Tazzari blushes pink. "...I, um, sorry... I hoped you could, um... Help with something... Sorry..."
[09:39] * Claire blinks her way back from catatonia and registers the AR window. "...Miss Sephia? What are you...oh."
[09:41] <Ikiryo> "Oh. Hello Tazzari , Claire. Are you two alright? We saw the news..."
[09:42] <Tazzari> "...I'm alright, um... But I hoped you could help with something. Um. Do you have the facilities to, um, host a Synthetic Intelligence?"
[09:42] *** Earthflame has joined #TSABIC
[09:43] <Earthflame> There's a murmur from outside the field of vision of the AR windoe. "Cmon Sepphy..."
[09:43] <Claire> She waves while Tazzari speaks. "And yeah, we're alright, thanks for asking."
[09:44] <Ikiryo> "...Umm...we have a call Milady...just a moment..." She gestures off-screen. "Oh, that's good. We were a bit worried...and no, we don't believe for a moment that you just tried to start a war any more than I did." She smiles warmly at the pair.
[09:45] <Earthflame> "Well tell them it can wait and come back to bed!" She sounds... Rather impatient.
[09:46] <Ikiryo> "Milady...umm..." She gestures again and there is the sound of someone being gagged with magic.
[09:46] <Tazzari> Tazzari is scarlet. "...Um... Sorry..."
[09:46] <Claire> "...She's going to ask why you didn't do that before, isn't she?"
[09:47] <Earthflame> "Mnnnnnnf~" ...That doesn't sound Too unhappy...
[09:47] *** Earthflame has left #TSABIC
[09:47] <Ikiryo> "...anyway, may I ask why you are calling?" She ignores Claire's question.
[09:48] <Tazzari> "...Um. I did... Um. Do you have the facilities to, um, host a Synthetic Intelligence?"
[09:48] * Claire pats Tazzari on the shoulder.
[09:50] <Ikiryo> "...theoretically? I mean, if I reconfigured some of my spare...hmm...yes. Oh but that would take more power...and...oh, I have those Unison device parts, those could help..." She's muttering...and her smile is starting to get a bit worrying.
[09:51] <Claire> She stares at the window...turns her head slightly to cast a glance at Tazzari, one eyebrow raised...back to the window. "...Mid to Sephia."
[09:51] <Ikiryo> "...hmm...a couple of holoprojectors...oh but then I'd need more power...perhaps..." She looks up. "Huh?"
[09:51] <Tazzari> "...Um. Claire's device has some data on it, um... I'm not Sure, but I think it might be, um... A fragmented upload attempt from an SI... Um. The TSAB would take a few times to set up a system for it, so... Could we, um, have it sent to you?"
[09:52] <Tazzari> *few days
[09:52] <Ikiryo> "You are sending me a Synthetic Inteligence? What's it's origin? Mid-Childen? Belkan? Lost Logia?" She sounds very hopeful about the third...and Tazzari gets the smallest feeling of the look Jail gave in his smile.
[09:53] <Tazzari> "...It Might be. We're not sure, um... It's from Hyperion..."
[09:53] <Ikiryo> ...her smile widens. "Oh? Really~"
[09:54] <Tazzari> "...If it's possible for her to run, and, um... Self repair, or be helped to put herself back together... It would be good... But it might not be, um... I just can't think of what else might have, um, caused such a large data burst..."
[09:54] <Claire> "All we know for sure is that there's a truckload of data on my device that's causing it to lock up...Provisional Enforcer Ivory told me it was because of a massive amount of data shoved through it. Tazzari found it all still there, but it wasn't from a cyberattack, it was the wrong...I don't even know. Style?"
[09:56] <Claire> "So she has an idea that it may be Indra, or part of her, or something, and the only way to know for sure is to move it to something worthy of running the program, if there's enough of it left to run."
[09:56] <Ikiryo> She nods "And you want me to see what I can do to...I mean with it? Well, I could reconfigure some of my machinery in order to house such a thing..."
[09:57] <Claire> "Well..." She holds up her inert device so Sephia can see it. "I certainly can't help her out. This is bursting at the seams, or so I'm led to believe."
[09:57] <Tazzari> Tazzari nods. "...It's even overwritten some of the firmware..."
[09:58] <Claire> She nods. "And that. Whatever that means."
[09:58] <Ikiryo> "Well...if you send her over, I'll see if I can get something larger set up..."
[09:59] <Tazzari> "Thank you... Um. I'll stop, um, distracting you now..." Tazzari is still kinda red.
[09:59] * Claire gets up and knocks on the door to Tazzari's cell. "Miss Ivory? Would it be possible to enable that transfer?"
[10:01] <Ikiryo> The door opens "Yes, it would." Her smile is impish. "And yes, perhaps you should stop distracting her unless she'd prefer you watch~" She takes the device from Claire's hands with a tendril of shadow that reaches out from her own before vanishing behind a closed door. You faintly here a snort of laughter.
[10:02] <Tazzari> "...Bye!" Tazzari squeaks at Sephia
[10:03] <Claire> "If only she knew," Claire quips, coming back to sit by Tazzari. "But wow...what a rush. I didn't even *think* about that as a possibility..."
[10:03] <Ikiryo> The AR window stays open just long enough for Sephia to stand and for the other lipstick marks on her abs to become visible. Then it's gone.
[10:04] <Tazzari> "I... Um... I might be wrong... But, um..."
[10:06] <Claire> "I don't think you're wrong," she says quietly. "And even if it's incomplete...it's more than nothing." She grins a little. "I hope...I hope I hope Miss Sephia can get anything out of that. It'd be nice to have something else positive for the Atalantas."
[10:10] <Tazzari> "...Yeah. Um... I hope." She hugs Claire again, quietly.
[10:11] * Claire pats her on the back. "You okay?" she asks quietly.
[10:14] <Tazzari> She nods. "Just... I hope..."
[10:14] <Claire> "Yeah. Me too. For a lot of things."
[10:15] <Tazzari> "...You're a good friend, Claire..."
[10:16] <Claire> She chuckles and hugs Tazzari tightly. "I try to be, Roomie. We all need some of those, you know?"
[10:16] <Tazzari> She nods. "...I'e never had such good friends before..." The hug she returns is as tight as she can make it.
[10:18] <Claire> "Everybody's gotta start somewhere," she says. "And...barring huge, catastrophic, unforeseen consequences, I think we'll all be staying good friends for a good long while."
[10:19] <Tazzari> "...I hope..." She gives her a warm smile.
[10:27] <Claire> She hugs Tazzari for a little while longer, then sighs. "Alright...I should probably leave you be. Wouldn't want Anai to catch us in flagrante delicto~"
[10:27] <Tazzari> "I, ah, um... What? Okay..." She looks confused and embarrased. "...I'll, um, see you later? Probably..."
[10:29] <Claire> She grins. "It means 'caught red-handed.' Wouldn't want to anger the girl who can control a Belkan superweapon, now, would I?" She ruffles Tazzari's hair again and stands up. "And yeah, I'll come back when I can. Keep the home fires burning. Or, uh, circuits buzzing, or however you want to make that a cyborg equivalent." With a wink, she sweeps out the door.
[10:30] <Tazzari> Tazzari waves goodbye before lying back on the bed... She had a lot to think about...
